LeedsEnjoyable stay at Oak Cottage

We stayed at one of these properties (Oak Cottage) for a week in June. The cottage was detached, modern, and excellently furnished. Very comfortable accommodation located around 20 minutes walk from the centre of Poole and its quayside.
Since our visit I note that the owner has rewritten the advertisement for this group of properties on the internet- making it clear that there are several properties - some of which are not located with sea views. We originally had trouble with our booking when we believed we were booking an apartment with a view of Holes Bay (which was shown on the intranet) only to have been allocated a cottage in a residential area. However after this initial confusion, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and I would recommend Oak Cottage as a place to stay for 2-4 people. -

We saw this property on the website and it looked amazing. We booked it for a long weekend. When we arrived, it looked stunning. The owner met us and was friendly. However we were then asked if we needed twin beds or a double. The question was repeated a few times. When the penny dropped that we wanted a double, the twin bedroom was locked. Meaning that we had paid to rent the property but were denied access to one of the rooms. Not the greatest of welcomes. There was then a leak from the shower through the roof and water was coming out of the lights in the hall. A clear fire hazard in my books. We contacted the owner straight away, only to be told that this happened often and we should simply orientate the flow of water in the shower to the right. The owner then asked us why we had not stayed the night on Saturday. We were a bit surprised by this. We were then told that a security car came into the courtyard every 2 hours to check on us and it had not seen our car outside the cottage the night before. Needless to say, we left the cottage sharpish after that. A beautiful home but if the owner does not trust people, it should not be let out.

Having arrived at the specified time, I was greeted at the front door to receive my keys and begin my stay. The first thing that I noticed was how pristine the whole place was, everything and I mean everything, was spotless. (I travel a lot and know a bit about it!) TV/Internet all worked fine lovely new/clean kitchen just great. (even though I ate out in Poole every night!) Also everything I needed was nearby.(very handy) Overall I now have a nice place to stay when I come down to Poole, without any of the more usual hassle associated with hotels.

We stayed for a 4 night break in the new year, it snowed all the time we were there so we stayed in and only braved the snow to go to the supermarket that was a short walk away, the apartment was lovely and cozy inside and made us feel very special with all the little things we found in the property, it was a very well equipped property in a lovely private setting and we did appreciated the small library of books, magazines, and games provided."
