“SPACIOUS AND QUIRKY - GREAT SPOT” Loved this house. It had its quirks - bit of a leaky conservatory in the (very heavy) rain - but over all it had a lovely atmosphere and was brilliantly spacious for us (2 adults, 2 big teenage boys, one 12 yr old and a dog). All the rooms were large - especially the fabulously epic main bathroom. The beds are so comfortable - and the main bedroom double bed is bigger than my bedroom at home. If you are looking for pristine decoration throughout, this probably isn't for you - but if you are after character, warmth and fun you will love this place. A short but steep walk to an excellent pub and some small shops, and well within driving reach of anything you might desire (!)

The Coach House, Porlock Weir - Sleeps 2 - Exmoor National Park - Sea View

“A perfect slice of Exmoor” We chose the cottage for its location and amazing sea views. It is perfect if you are looking for a tranquil location and atmosphere. It is ideally situated for the facilities in the village. While these are limited, Porlock is only a few miles away and offers more in the way of pubs restaurants and shops. Exmoor with all that it offers, is on the doorstep. The owners have left lots of local information and recommendations. Our only gripe was the difficulty in manoevering our car through the gates and into the allocated parking space. Also, the bathroom had a fine selection of cobwebs! However this did not detract, in any way, our enjoyment of a holiday in the area. It is one we know quite well and should we return, we would very much like to stay once more in The Coach House

“Perfect” Had an amazing weekend for my birthday. Quiet, beautiful views and lovely surroundings. A true romantic place to stay, finished to a very high spec with everything you could need included. Housekeeper was fabulous and friendly. A perfect stay that I can't wait to return to

“Excellent base” The apartment is quiet and comfortable; excellent value. Many thoughtful touches: food and drink on arrival and other small useful items provided. The huge tidal changes are fascinating - we had feared smelly mud flats, but not at all. Very quiet location, even over the Bank Holiday, and easy parking. Good base for Exmoor and the coastal cliff paths both out of the hamlet and further west.

St Anthony's Cottage, Porlock Weir - Sleeps 4 - Exmoor National Park - Sea View

Porlock Weir house

“St Anthony's Cottage the perfect location for a truly relaxing break!” Looks can be deceitful ! The cottage doesn't look particularly outstanding from the outside! However, as soon as we opened the door it was apparent that this was no ordinary holiday "let"! The two double bedrooms are downstairs and have fantastic sea views. Our double bed was very comfortable and the twin beds in the other room were also given the thumbs up ! We all enjoyed a good night's sleep. The wonderful open plan living area upstairs is very well furnished and the decor is quite amazing. There has been no stinting on quality and flare! The icing on the cake is the breathtaking view from the sliding doors of the sea and Porlock Bay. The cottage is well equipped and we had everything provided for us and a wood burner all set for us to light on arrival. The storage heaters were ultra efficient, if anything we were too warm! All in all this is the best place I nave ever stayed in and I and my family would like to extend our thanks to the team who manage it. We'll be back! Anne Davis.

The Crows Nest, Porlock Weir - Sleeps 6 - Exmoor National Park - Sea Views

“wonderful” What a lovely cottage the crows nest is. It is well equipped and comfortable with spectacular sea/harbour views from the windows. We only had a long weekend but could have stayed weeks. My only criticism would be I thought there would be a toilet in the en-suite shower room. We were two couples away together and it meant one couple using the toilet downstairs rather than disturbing the other couple as the bathroom was right at the other end of the upstairs corridor. I would rather have a toilet than a walk in wardrobe but we managed.

“hidden treasure” Lovely walk to Porlock weir. Felt a bit weird using the garden especially with dog. Was calling him to heel always. Better fencing or gate would be more usable if dogs are allowed- Why not? I would always clean up if any mess left and I am certain others would too, Can't rule it out if you are allowing dogs. Also table PLUS 2 chairs for eating outside on the higher part of the garden would be perfect. Dragging table down to the bench or v-v is a bit stupid. However is a lovely hideaway. Would go again. If they will have us!

“Excellent 'away from it all' location/accommodation” The Hayloft is situated in a quiet remote area among rolling hills with the most amazing starry skies. Ideal location for walkers. The accommodation is to a high standard and is very clean and comfortable. The owners were very helpful indeed without being intrusive. Our dog was made welcome as well.

Beautiful Setting

This cottage is situated in a beautiful setting. Wonderful views of the sea and with beautiful gardens. We had two young children in our party (6 and 3 years) and they loved exploring the garden. The garden room was amazing with wonderful views of the sea. There were beautiful plants growing in there. The cottage was certainly quirky with mixtures of new and old. Very spacious. There were even toys left for the children to play with. The down sides are there are no toilets downstairs. The kitchen was rather small and there was not much storage. We had trouble working the oven and television. Overall we were extremely happy with this cottage. A brilliant place to visit Somerset and Exmoor.see more

Lovely sea views comfortable accomodation

Comfortable accommodation in great position. One bedroom but very good. Rising television at bottom of bed well concealed and probably a feature but not required by us. Only drawback was the entrance which is a bit tight if you have a largish car. Dog friendly would recommend. … see more

Beautiful Cottage, perfect loaction

We booked this as a short break to do some walking with our dog and young baby. The cottage has a paddock to the rear which the owners very kindly allow dogs to exercise in and it also leads onto a pack horse trail. This trail is a lovely walk into Porlock Weir that can then connect onto the coastal path. The town of Porlock is conveniently located, and has a good range of shops and restaurants. We were particularly impressed with Piggy in the Middle! The cottage itself is well laid out and very well equipped with every thing you need. Although the stair are pretty steep (I would recommend slippers) the downstairs was nice and open and safe for our baby to crawl around and explore. The enclosed courtyard is a useful addition to let a dog out for a morning stretch. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable of the area.see more
