North CarolinaTruly a "home away from home"

This delightful cottage is a perfect place to stay! Unfortunately, we only had two nights there and wished we could have extended our visit. Comfortable, very well equipped, gorgeous back yard with porch for relaxing and grill and cute chickens to keep you company. Everything you need is provided by Jeanette (the owner) - full frid w/food stuff, maps and area info, comfortable sitting area and bedroom, etc. The location is perfect for day trips to Mt. Olympia and the Juan de Fuca coastline. You can catch a ferry to Vancouver Island and spend the day in Victoria (remember your passport). I would highly recommend travelers to this area to book the Kiwi Cottage.

Wonder place! I loved the fresh eggs and a cozy fire. The Kiwi West Vacation property is very conveniently located and we enjoyed a day trip to Victoria BC while we stayed. Great Hosts.

This beautiful nest had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. We came to the Olympic Peninsula to see the sights and the national parks. We took several day trips and it was so nice to come back to such a great place. The apartment had everything we needed. The kitchen was stocked with many things we needed for cooking, including fresh eggs from the chicken coop in the backyard. The bathroom had many essentials in case we forgot anything. The bed was amazingly comfortable, I slept so well.
The chickens were alot of fun to watch when we were there and the view of the mountains was spectacular. Also, the wood burning stove really made the nest so comfortable and homey. We didn't want to leave! Jeanette and Scott were very kind and helpful.
The location was great for us because there were several restaurants very close by (Sabai Thai, Toga's Soup House, and Gastropub were our favorites), grocery stores, coffee shops, book shops, outdoor stores, and the ferry to Victoria. We took a trip to Victoria for one day and that was really great. We went to Ediz Hook in Port angeles every evening to see the birds and look for seals who frequent the harbor. The view of the mountains from Ediz Hook was incredible (when the clouds let up) and we didn't see them as well anywhere else. We also went to Dungeness Spit in Sequim where we saw alot of wildife. The trails were beautiful. We drove to Neah Bay via Highway 112 which was an amazing experience. The Cape Flattery trail at the Makah reservation was really incredible.
There was so much we loved about our trip but the most important part was having such a lovely place to stay. The experience at the cozy nest for two was really wonderful. -

We really enjoyed our stay at the Kiwi West in Port angeles. We had the entire half of the house to ourselves; more than enough room for just two of us. Place was very clean and comfortable, tastefully decorated with a nice New Zealand flair. Kitchen was large and well-stocked for us, including fresh eggs in the fridge. Our favorite features: large, private deck out back, nice, cozy wood-burning stove, letting the chickens out of the coup each morning, very comfortable bed, and the washer/dryer certainly came in handy! Jeanette & Scott were very friendly and accommodating. In short, a perfect stay. Would gladly recommend or stay again next time we're out that way!

This is a cozy place to stay in a beautiful small town. There's a big backyard with a private deck and BBQ, and if your lucky, fresh laid eggs. The most devine, sublime eggs you will ever have. The fire place gets the place nice and warm for those cool spring nights. Would definitely recommend to anyone. No extra cleaning fee which is a great perk for vacation rentals.

I was out there visiting a friend and stayed at Kiwi West for two weeks. It was quiet and relaxing, espcially after a long day of hiking coming to soak in that wonderful claw foot tub and sit by the wood stove was perfection. The place was very clean and Jeanette was very accomidating in every way possible. Thank you so much for a wonderful experiance.

Vancouver, WashingtonKiwi West met every need we had, and then some!

When we decided to visit the Port angeles for a long weekend, we chose to stay at Kiwi West. It was a great experience! When we arrived, the fridge had milk, fresh eggs, and a bunch of other necessities. The cupboards and freezer were also stocked, as was the bathroom with necessary toiletries to the point that we needed very few actual items from the store. We found the interior decorating to be very charming, with wall hangings, etc. reflective of the owner's New Zealand heritage. Basically, this place met our every need to a tee and we will definitely be back and will recommend it to all our friends.

Sacramento, CA USAWonderful Bargain Place to Stay in Port angeles
Left on 03/24/2011 for a stay in March 2011
We were visiting Port angeles to see if that is where we would like to retire and found this property on Vrbo. The owners have split their house in half to create a vacation rental. The accommodations were all very good. I think my favorite part were the chickens. They have about 8 hens (no roosters so it was very quiet) in the backyard. I think that they are all different breeds. Not only were they fun to watch but the owner had a half dozen fresh eggs waiting for us in the kitchen. We also had several conversations with the family who owned the house. They are a fun family and gave us some good suggestions for places in and around pa. One note. If you are a geek like me you might be a little disappointed with the internet. They do offer a good wireless connection but I think its hooked up to a DSL line so the speed was only about 1Mbs. Many of you may not know what I am talking about. Only a geek like me would notice it. It was good enough for email and browsing but a little slow for uploading photos (I am a photographer).
