Lyon, France15 days at Fan Villa!
Left on 05/17/2013 for a stay in May 2013
The Fan Villa is very great place to stay. Even without car, because located in the Hill, there's just a road to climb. The panorama will surprise everybody!
Everything is in a pure carribean smart style with a very good comfort. A lot of Space in the studios. Terrasse with a wonderfull vue, Safety feeling, disponibility of everybody there!
We could never finish all the advantages of staying in that place... Because of all the attentions made for the guests! Nothing is a problem for nobody. You can ask for a lot of informations, they will try to found the good thing for satisact your self.
We want to say a big, big Thank you to Nino, Jackie, Charlie, Andrea, Marysent, Dickie and Collin for all they did for us. Since we arrive at the airport to our last day they care for us everytime and more than that it willstay an unforgettable meetingin our memory ! We will come back, not probably, but for sure!
We would like to promote too the organic bar Nino create just closed to the Villa, and called the Tortuga. Every Friday, he organize a special night with food, nice alcools and good music. It was a pleasure to drink a glass of nice wine listenning some good jazz. To note, it´s an organic place, all in wood and in the forest on the hill. Solar lights. Very well designed by Nino. Nice work! A lot of people come every friday, most of them are expatriate peoples from everywhere and We're happy to speack with a lot of them. It´s not a dancing place. It's not a noisy bar. Just smart, simple and generous. Probably the best keeped secret to found here in Port antonio!
There's also a good kitchen in every studio. Andrea bring us to the market in the town. It was a fabulous moment to see all the products from the farmers around. And an other way to discover real Jamaica. More than that, she and Marysent cook for us and we cook also for them. A great moment for sharing recipes and food.
It was our 3 rd time in Portalnd, and we didn't been disappointed by nothing even we begin to know the place. In contrary, they arrive to make us more curious and to come back again...!
We recommand that place with enthusiasm and no doubt! -

Crystal River, FloridaBest view in Porty!
Left on 03/05/2013 for a stay in February 2013
The villa is absolutely beautiful! The view is just breathtaking! It feels like you are in a very posh treehouse when you gaze out the celing to floor windows overlooking the bay and Trident Castle. At night, the twinkling lights below are lovely too. The staff was awsome. Nino was a wonderful host. He delivered on every promise made. Andrea was a wonderful cook and took fantastic care of us and the villa. She took us in town shopping to show us the ropes and that was very helpful as it can be daunting being in a new place. Dick was a terrific driver and tour guide. My husband and I enjoyed our vacation very much. This is our favorite part of Jamaica, hands down! We are looking forward to going back and taking our children!

Ottawa, CanadaWonderful Location With a Warm Welcom
Left on 03/03/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Situated in the foothills of the Blue Mountains, overlooking the beautiful coastline of Port antonio, the spacious, well-appointed Fan Villa offers a wonderful entry into a very spec and very safe part of Jamaica.
What makes the Fan Villa especially appealing is the friendly and hospitable service offered by Nino and his staff. Nino always went the extra mile to ensure we made the most of our stay. He gave us lifts into town, lent us a phone, ensured we were not overcharged for our rental car, and invited us to two social events, where we met many interesting people. If you a searching for a touch of authentic Jamaica without giving up your comfort, this is the place. -

I highly recommend this hotel. The room was big, clean and with a nice view.
Miss andrea (employee) was super kind and provided a perfect service. The owners showed great interest regarding our stay, and gave good advices on places to visit; to be sure we enjoy our stay.
It really was a good experience and I will definitely come back there for my next trip in Jamaica. -

43323A Great Vacation!
Left on 03/31/2012 for a stay in February 2012
My wife and two of our friends have been to Jamaica over 40 times between the four of us.
We've traveled to all of the great beaches and locales. In our collective opinion, this was the best, most authentic, relaxing and purely enjoyable Jamaican vacation we've ever taken.
From our " Welcome to the Fan dinner" served upon our arrival, to the constant attention given to us by our wonderful chefs, Nola and andrea, our gatekeeper and gardener, Colin, only to be exceeded by our gracious hosts Nino, Jacqui, and Shari.
I will just finish by saying this, I wish I could take these folks on all of our vacations. -

Grand CaymanBeautiful and Relaxing!
Left on 01/29/2011 for a stay in December 2010
The Fan is a lovely villa at a very reasonable price. It is nestled about a 3min drive or 10 min walk up into the Blue Mountains with stunning views over the mountains and the Caribbean sea. It is a short drive away from Winifred Beach and The Blue Lagoon which are gorgeous places and easy to get to by taxi. We hired a car and drove about 40 mins to Reach Falls which is a must, beautiful and so much fun with hardly any tourists. This is a very unspoilt part of Jamaica. On the drive back to the villa from the falls you must stop at Boston Bay for the best Jerk Pork in the world, its not cheap but its worth every cent ! The highlight of our stay was river rafting down the Rio Grande, once again not cheap but highly recommended! Other highlights were the jammin night held by Nino and his friends at the villa, a evening out (new year's eve actually ) at ana Banana restuarant in Port antonio and a drink at the exclusive Geejams hotel which is about a 10 min drive from the villa. You can also walk up the hill for a drink at The Mockingbird hotel and down the hill for dinner at the burger bar and fantastic cocktails at The Jamaican Palace so the location of the villa is good and not as isolated as I thought it might be.
The food was very nice at villa but the cooks will ask you want you wish to eat rather than suggest a menu and grocery shopping in Jamaica is fairly expensive but having breakfast served to you every morning out in the most wonderful setting was really quite special. My friends and myself hired both apartments so we had sole use of the villa which was lovely. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend this villa and especially this area to anyone who likes escape and relax. Oh and the drive from Kingston to the Portland area through the Blue Mountains is fantastic, its 2 and a half hours of beauty. Finally ask Nino to arrange Petie as your taxi driver, he was brilliant ! -

CanadaLoving the mountains in Port Antonio.....

We stayed at the Fan for 10 days. It was very different than our regular beach villa holiday. It is peaceful, lush and the staff made you feel right at home. They couldn't do enough for us. The hill to/from the Fan is a hike if you are walking, but you get your exercise from eating all that great home cooking. The views from the Fan are fabulous, the only thing that would make this place better is to have a pool on the premises, then you'd never want to leave!

Hong Kong, Chinamusical forest
Left on 02/28/2010 for a stay in February 2010
The villa is located in a forest with a breathtaking lookout of the Castle and very close proximity to major attractions. The villa itself, being well furnished with style, is a very relaxing place and very often, you are tempted not to go elsewhere. The Blue Mountain Range in the Day and the stars at Night are some of the good memories of my stay. What's more, the forest keeps on virbrating, nature music sounds like cradle song while the beautiful fire flies dance like moving stars just over your head. Never can you find such a lovely home in perfect harmony with the environment, both day and night.
The service is good. The manager is an expert in Port Antonio and gave valuable information as regards its attractions as well a good taste of how the economy of Port Antionio works. All staff are freindly, helpful and responsible. I particulary, enjoy the maid's singing and dancing while doing the housekeeping, a typical Jamaican way of living which stands at a bit contrast to urban life while people may work like machine. No wonder it ranks the third in a recent worldwide survey on the happiness of people.
During the stay, I also got many chances to get acquainted with other residents as well as the friendly local people who added even more colours to my holiday, making it more like a second home actually.
In sum, the stay is a good recharge of both physical and spritual well being. It will be a constant memory of how beauty and nurturing our nature can be. I had been to some other places but the experience here is a unique one that you have to taste it yourself before you really understand the words. -

From the very first moment we knew it was going to be a fantastic
holiday. The Fan villa takes your breath away : located on top of a
beautiful jamaica hill, with an unbeatable view over the bay and the
Trident Castle, lush vegetation all around. The villa is named "The
Fan" because it's shaped like a fan, and on 90 degrees you can
enjoy the view from all those windows !
On arrival we had a warm welcome from Nino (an italian-born who's
been living in Jamaica for 10 years), Jaquie and her daughter Shary.
Night was falling, but they had already prepared dinner for us !
During our stay they provided perfect service : information about the
region, reservations, even a cell phone just in case we needed their
help. Nino plays piano in a local band, and during our stay he even
organized a little jam session with his friends. The atmosphere was
really friendly, something you will never find in a resort in Ocho Rios
!!! The villa's staff was also very nice : Andrea, the housekeeper,
prepared for us very good breakfast and cooked some excellent
jamaican dinners. She was also very nice with our two-year old son.
Security at the villa is fine, two very nice dogs watch the villa, but
anyway, it is really a calm place.
The location is a perfect point to visit Portland, for me the nicest
region in Jamaica. The beaches are top-class, some private
(Frenchman's Cove, San San,...) some public where you can meet
wonderful people (we miss you Winnifred !!!). You can also plunge in
waterfalls, hike, visit Port Antonio which is just 10 minutes away, go
rafting on the Rio Grande (magic !!!).
At night we enjoyed the large veranda, where we could listen to the
sounds of the jungle and on weekends, even reaggae music coming
from a local sound system ! I guess we never felt more relaxed than
that :-)
Conclusion : we'll be back !!!
