LaSolana Villa is located on two acres of lush San San Estate property in the parish of Portland, Jamaica. Nestled on slopes amidst beautiful fauna far above sea level thereby affording majestic views of the azure waters of the Caribbean Sea with the Blue Mountains as its backdrop. LaSolana is located 5 miles east of the quaint, historic town of Port Antonio where local art and craft items may be purchased and true rural Jamaican life may be experienced. There are a range of activities for you to enjoy: hiking, cycling, snorkelling, diving or you can just laze by the pool with a cold drink and enjoy the sunset. Relaxation is the order of the day and the untouched beauty that surrounds you provides the perfect background to escape and unwind.
Within walking distance are two wonderful beaches: San San and Frenchman's Cove. One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Jamaica - Reach Falls - is within driving distance of the villa. As is the lovely Rio Grande River - where couples can enjoy a trip down the calm river under towering bamboo arches, past fern-shrouded groves, over rippling shoals and through a narrow passageway of moss-covered stone known as Lovers Rock.
Portland is lush and beautiful but also a rural area. It is recommended to either bring transportation or hire a taxi or a car (we can assist you with this) to fully enjoy your stay. The villa manager can assist you these arrangements upon request.

LaSolana is a large villa divided into three cottage units (Villa A, Villa B and Villa C) . You can either rent the cottages separately or the entire villa. Please see a detailed description of each cottage below. The villa comes with a private pool overlooking the San San Bay.
- Villa A -> 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom cottage with kitchen, dinning room, living room, and patio
- Villa B -> 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage with kitchen dinning room, living room and patio
- Villa C -> 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage with kitchen dinning room, living room and patio

Payment Policy:
Payment is accepted through PayPal. An email invoice will be sent from PayPal with payment instructions when a reservation is accepted. If your reservation is made:
•MORE THAN 90 DAYS prior to arrival date:a 25% deposit must be paid within 3 days to guarantee your reservation. The balance will be due upon arrival.
•LESS THAN 90 DAYS prior to arrival date: 50% deposit must be paid within 3 days to guarantee your reservation. The balance will be due upon arrival.

Ignore any reviews previous to 2012 of Fern Hill resort as it is now under new management and being renovated. My wife, 2 year old son and I stayed at La Solana (which is at the top of the old Fern Hill resort)for 11 days and we couldn't believe how awesome it was. Beautiful lush gandenlike grounds, amazing panoramic ocean views from the top of a hill in the Blue Mountain Range of Portland Parish. Sort of a French Colonial style with a laid back old world ambience. It's difficult to describe the feeling of being there but it's pretty wonderful. This is part of a larger property that is in the process of restoration. The staff were very friendly and concientious about our comfort and checked in regularly to see how we were doing. They really treated us well. Keep in mind it's an older property and it's not a luxury property but there's an old world charm that you won't get in a luxury resort and the quality is definitely there. Almost daily my wife would comment about how incredible the place was and she's more the luxury resort type. We were truly in awe. Also it was very clean with great beds, linens, new appliances dishes cookware, and very neat and comfortable with good water pressure hot/cold etc. Very tastefully decorated and also very safe and quiet on a private road. We highly recommend nearby Boston and Winnefred Beach, Reach Falls and long drives up and down the coast. It's in one of the greenest most beatiful parts of Jamaica. Make it a longer stay if possible as the longer you are there the more you start to really unwind, relax and enjoy yourself.

I've done my fair share of traveling and been to my share of nice villas... this one is amazing! The property manager and other staff are warm, knowledgeable about the area, and helped us arrange anything we needed. The grounds are beautiful. And nothing beats the Jamaican food! Great price for what we got.

My partner Debbie and I just got back from LaSolona and all that we can say is "wow". If you're looking for a slice of Paradise, far from the all-inclusives and tourist traps, this hotel is a cut above the rest. Debbie and I were very keen to get away and have a proper holiday, LaSolana delivered just that. We had a private chef, remarkable views from the swimming pool, and the peacefulness of Port antonio, which together made this holiday our best ever!
We were told that the hotel is under new management and we were fortune to be one of the few staying at the property last month. To be completely honest, I'm writing this review with a little hesitation because I (selfishly) want to keep LaSolana all to myself. It really is paradise and Debbie and I are already planning our return trip back next year!
