RamsgateFabulous location
Left on 08/18/2012 for a stay in August 2012
A lovely house in a great location. Views and peace and a very well equipped and furnished cottage - it felt more like a home than a holiday let. Off the beaten track but near enough to shops and Oban. The owners were very welcoming and made sure that everything was ok - the wine and chocolates were a lovely touch.
Lovely large garden with lots of wildlife - even a deer trotted through one afternoon, and the private shoreline was a great bonus. Definitely worth another visit.

ChesterfieldBreathtaking and tranquil with a beatiful view

We all thought the cottage was great and homely and enjoyed having our own little beach that was fantastic for our little girl who is 9 years old -she went beachcombing every morning. With my dad being in a wheelchair we usually have some problems with him getting about but no problems here, he thought it was great being able to get down by the waters edge for a change -on his own. They very kindly arranged a ramp for us without us having to ask which was very kind of them and they were very friendly and helpful. Loved the place, though the pictures you have on the Mackay site do not do the place justice, especially the view. Best cottage we've had since Barnlongart 10 years ago -would highly recommend this place for all ages -breathtaking an tranquil even in the rain.

ChesterThis is a beauty spot but not too remote. Very relaxing and comf

The couple who own the house live next door and are very friendly, relaxed and lovely. They don't intrude but they're there if you need them. The house is nicely spacious and comfortable but not ostentatious or 'precious'. You can really feel at home there. The views and the silence are fabulous and the proximity to the Western Isles and beautiful Scottish scenery is like a dream come true. We have booked to go next year we loved it so much. I would not hesitate to recommend this house. If you like nightlife or fancy pants decor it won't be for you! However if you like a 2 mile walk to the open night at the pub it probably is for you.

Very comfortable bungalow, excellent beds and the owners very helpful. Location very peaceful and tranquil. Local village OK for emergency supplies, but shopping has to be done in Oban. Liked best - the views. Liked least - it was a bit cold and night.

londonExceptional, large house in perfect get away location
Left on 06/01/2011 for a stay in May 2011
The picture does not do this house justice. A very well equipped, get away from it location yet easily in reach of Oban and Fort William, perfect for a relaxing break. Exceptionally friendly and helpful hosts on hand - yet very unobtrusive. Weather unfortunately prevented us taking up their very generous offer of a trip on their beauitifully restored ketch. Highly recommended

Firstly, the brochure does not do this cottage justice. It looks much nicer and is now painted white. There are large lawned areas and a path down to your own tiny, rocky beach. Inside it is very, very roomy, ( the master bedroom is huge ),with lovely views from almost every room, It is very well equipped, with lovely welcoming touches of wine, chocolates and toiletries. The owners, who live nearby, are very friendly and helpful. They will do all they can to make your stay enjoyable, but do not invade your privacy. The property is a few miles away from facilities on single track road, but you soon get used to the drive and it does ensure peace and privacy!

Left on 10/10/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Very comfortable cottage with beautiful views three miles off main road. Clean and well furnished. Owners had wine and chocs for us which was a lovely gesture. Picture window in lounge to watch boats pass by on loch.Plenty to see and do in area. It was a pity that weather was so mixed this year. Also, I was disappointed by rocky beach which made walking there difficult.

Everything was first class as described, and pictured, in the brochure. Mr and Mrs Rodgers could not have been more helpful and friendly. Mr Rodgers even took us out fishing in his boat. Their knowledge of the area, and recommendations, were very welcome. The location and the views from the property are stunning and will definitely visit again.
