Corpus Christi, TX, United StatesGreat location and Excellent Ocean View
Left on 05/07/2013 for a stay in May 2013
Pros:
Love love the view, location, and kitchen!
Very close to beach
Elevator definitely came in handy.
Don't think the stay would have been the same without it.
Would stay in this property again(as long as they fix the Cons stated below).
Cons:
2 out of the 5 TV's didn't work. My dad loved the room he chose to sleep in, but TV not working was definitely an inconvenience.
Made a call to have them fixed; guy that came out was super cool, but did not fix them.
Few spider webs, needed some detail cleaning.
The ceiling fan in living area was super noisy and loose. We could still use it but noise became annoying after while.
Elevator got stuck with a young adult and 3 kids in it. Took about 30 min to reset. Should have an easily accessible reset button. -

We had a great time at Port A. The house had pretty much everything we needed. Bedrooms, Bathrooms were all very nice. extra blankets pillows were available. Only small issue was that house was very dusty, maybe it hadn't been rented in a while due to off season. It would have been nice if the house was spruced off before arrival. Other than that we had a wonderful time here and will be back again!

Rochester, MN, United StatesAdorably furnished home
Left on 03/08/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Wonderfully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, adorable decor.
Really wish we could have walked right out the door to the near, but sooo far away as you can see it from the porches but have to get in your car to drive there.
Question: why are there so many fences in this area? Every little property had a fence and there was a barb wire fence that prevented anyone from the beach. -

Parkton, MD, United StatesGreat Space & Fully Equipped
Left on 07/20/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We rented this house and the one next to us. This was the most well-equipped kitchen we have EVER had in Port A. It was amazing! the views were great and the elevator was a nice touch for my dad who has a bad knee. We ran in to a couple of issues, but the staff quickly sent a repair man out the following morning. The only thing that did not work ALL week was the TV in the main living space. While we found other things to do, it would have been nice to watch a game or something. Otherwise we enjoyed the space and look forward to going back.

Left on 07/03/2012 for a stay in May 2012
The house is very cozy and bright. We loved the spacious kitchen and living room. The only negative thing is the house does not have beach access, but we were informed prior to the stay so we just drove to the beach. Thank you for sharing this house with us.

Sugarland, Tx, United StatesGorgeous House, Well Equipped, A Fantastic Vacation Stay
Left on 05/22/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We have been to this home twice now. Both times with 3 couples and 3 children. Each couple had their own room and bathroom, which is LOVELY! The kids bunked in the "kid room" which has a tv and used to have bunk beds, now only trundle beds, which was even better!
The house is very well appointed, with plenty of dishes, etc. We did bring our own beach towels, which I advise because there are no towels that are meant to leave the house.
If I had a complaint or suggestion it would be to get the light-colored couch cleaned (it is rather stained up despite how "young" the home is. And also I would switch the "kid room" furniture from the back bedroom to the middle, and therefore put the middle room's queen bed in the room nearest the 2nd bathroom. It seems the third bedroom is a tad larger, and for us, it would have been nice to have the 3rd couple in a larger room.
This house could use a thicker potholder, but even as I type that I laugh because I recognize how unimportant that is!
It is a perfect beach getaway home in a nice area. We will certainly be back. -

San Angelo, TX, United StatesFamily Time in Port 'A"
Left on 05/15/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We all loved staying in our condo. It accommodated our 2 children and their families very well. Everything was perfect except we couldn't walk to the beach. We all wished for a boardwalk to the beach. But, this condo was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and the kitchen well stocked to cook in. The games and puzzles looked fun but we didn't have time to play them. We are hoping to return when our third daughter and family can also attend. It was a great gathering place.

Thank you for sharing your home with us! We are frequent visitors to Port A. and have stayed in numerous homes in Village Walk. Always enjoying the proximity to the beach and city center. The grounds are well kept and the floor plans work well for many different combinations of families and friends.

Beach access was not quite what it is made out to be on the web site. They show this nice boardwalk that is inaccessible from the house. You still have to drive to the beach. Otherwise the house itself was wonderful! Loved the elevator.

I would give our experience overall 4 stars. We had some ants in the first floor apartment which has been an issue this year apparently with the hot temps. Staff gets 4 stars dealing with several minor problems we had. Wish there was a closer walkway to the beach. we loved Village Walk, and plan to come again. Thanks for a great vacation.

Upon checking in, we realized there a few problems with the house...coffee maker was broken, two tvs didn't work, dryer wouldn't turn on (it turned out to be missing vent), microwave was broken. Called the mgr right away and a repairman was there within 30 minutes to get everything taken care of!!! Very satisfied with the level of service. The house was gorgeous and loved how nicely it is decorated. Would stay there again!

San Antonio, TxBeautiful Home with a few flaws
Left on 07/02/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Beautiful home, nicely decorated. Nice views of the ocean from the 2nd and 3rd floors.
Few areas of opportunity for improvement include - new pots/pans for cooking. Most of the pots/pans had some type of issue. Rental needs large bowls (this rental had plenty of dishes/cereal bowls etc - however, for a large group it did not have enough serving bowls). Microwave did not work during our visit. Elevator was a nice addition although very sensitive. A number of times the elevator stuck because of the door was not shut properly. However, nice addition for carrying the ice chests up to the main floor. -

Helotes, TXThe property manager went...
Left on 05/10/2011 for a stay in May 2011
The property manager went the extra mile helping me locate the best property for our group. The property is lovely and appealing with many positives, and suited our needs well. It was mostly bright, shiny, clean except for the floors. When we arrived--walking in putting luggage down, there were already small trails of sand on the floor on the second floor level in the entrance and in some bedrooms. The kitchen floor was superficially clean looking, but had some sticky spots where it had not been cleaned as well and carefully as it should have been from the last visitors. The floor on the basement apartment level likewise superficially looked ok, but on closer inspection could probably use a good scrubbing.
The counters etc were spotless and all else was very clean, including the bathrooms. It is as if, whoever cleans the floors does the minimum to get by and if it looks ok, they don't really do a thorough job. Overall it was still great, but you are probably paying for a good job to be done, so the floors should be getting more attention too. It is still a great property and, except for the floors, was very bright and clean and attractive. And the note was correct--the elevator is an asset especially for the basement dwellers. -

Round Rock, TxOur 4 generational family...
Left on 09/23/2010 for a stay in September 2010
Our 4 generational family of 13 had a great time together in this lovely 3 story beach home, inspite of the heavy rains from hurricane Karl. The windows and doors do leak in the heavy rain. Having an elevator was a nice feature, especially for our 86 year old patriarch, but it could not be called to the first floor. The family staying in the suite in the first floor must be able to climb the steep outside stairs to the second floor. The home has satellite tv, but I would recommend also bringing your own books, games,DVD's, laundry soap, exta TP and paper towels. It's a nice view, but the beach can only be accessed by vehicle.

Corpus Christi, TXHOT, HOT, HOT
Left on 09/14/2010 for a stay in September 2010
The decor was beautiful and it could sleep a lot of people, however we had some major issues with the A/C and the kitchen is on the third floor. So it made things pretty tough loading and unloading until we found the elevator which the maintence guy help us with and we were able to keep things going here and there. Then the second night we had issues with a/c they finally put some freon in and not trouble after that. The boardwalk access that we thought we were going to have was now fenced off so we had to drive back and forth from the beach which was a problem when there are cops everywhere on 11th st. Also the master bedroom is under the kitchen/living area and even a little 1 year old sounded like an elephant stomping around, but it did have a great view. However the upper deck had a great breaze and amazing few. Don't think we will stay there again, but it was an experience.

Houston, TXGood & Bad
Left on 09/13/2010 for a stay in September 2010
When we arrived 09/06/2010 @ 10:00 p.m. there was a tropical storm going on. We had been in contact several times on 09/06 that we would be arriving late for check-in. We traveled for 4 hours in heavy down pour rain and was in the middle of the storm when we arrived. The elevator would not work. We had to carry bags, food etc. for 10 people up all those stairs (which must be 20 or more.)
This was really the worst of everything. It is a drive to get to the beach, can not walk, too far! We had 3 children, 3,4,& 5 yrs. So to walk was completely out of the question. Whom ever stayed before us un-programmed all the T.V. in the house. There was one missing in the queen bedroom. There was huge spiders in the garage so no one wanted to stay on the ground floor. All in all, it is a beautiful house! Just needs some tweaking to work the bugs out! It would be nice to have the A/C on and to make sure everything is working since we had been in touch with the rental people several times that day. -

Home was very nice. We had a good time in the home even though Hurricane Alex kept us off of the beach for a few days. The elevator was a welcomed surprise; it made moving stuff in easier. Only concern was the TV since we got spotty reception especially during the storm. We will book this home again.

This was a great place for our group of 14. It held everyone well and we never felt crowded. A real plus!!! We did miss having a boardwalk to get to the beach. I would be nice for some of a large group to walk to and from the beach without taking too many cars. The beach access for cars was great too!!!

House was absolutely beautiful -- pictures don't do it justice. Equipped with everything we could possibly need, and our group of 13 was completely comfortable. Pine floors & walls were so pretty, but did make for some noise issues with the little kids trying to sleep in the bunks downstairs, while parents were upstairs playing games. Otherwise no complaints whatsoever. This was our first time to rent a house -- It was such a great experience, we wouldn't hesitate to do so again! Mgmt company was really great!

,Large house with elevator a hit!
Left on 08/03/2009 for a stay in July 2009
Overall, we really enjoyed this property. We've stayed in 3-story homes before with no elevator and having that feature during this stay made a world of difference. Our only 2 complaints were: no boardwalk to the beach and the ice maker wasn't working so we had to buy ice - we felt the property manager could have offered a small discount for that problem, but other than that a great experience.

Some small things were out of place-- such as the remotes for the bedroom tv's were switched around and we did not figure it out that the remote for the master was in the kitchen and the kitchen remote was in the first floor bedroom. The dryer knob fell off so we could not use it after 1 day. Other than these small problems it was very nice.
