We had a need for a base of operations while preparing for a beach wedding and reception. The Fishing Tails Cottage was perfect, especially the kitchen and dining area. We are also pet people and this location allowed us to bring "that side of the family". The rental was very clean and well kept. The location was easy to get to and close to everything in Port a. Due to the wedding, we did not have much time to enjoy the more relaxing side of the property, but we have already booked a June return for when our two grand kids are down from North Dakota for their summer visit. The owner was very helpful with all our question and needs.

The cottage was perfect for our family Christmas. It had everything we needed for our stay and for our Christmas dinner. It was great to have a place where we could bring our dogs. They are part of our family too. The location was great, just a few short blocks to the beach. I highly recommend this cottage. We would like to come back again soon.

At first glance the property may not look as "tight" as other rentals but then you would be depriving yourself of an opportunity to experience a really great bargain. Inside the place is clean and updated. Big dining room table, large kitchen. Satellite t.v. Location is prime...only 4 blocks from ocean and close to the grocery store as well as the souvenir shops. Main road thru town is two blocks away. So for the price I and my family would be a repeat customer. Oh and by the way, the a/c is cold

Clean, updated, cheerful house big enough for the whole family! Plenty of space. Good sized kitchen! So nice to have 2 bathrooms. Dish TV/WiFi. Great patio for sitting outside, too. Perfect location in Port aransas close to everything. We will be back!

The cottage was wonderful--clean, comfortable, hassle-free.
We enjoyed the beach, the ocean, the bird-watching, and the food!!

the best family vacation ever!
The house was immaculate and stocked with plenty of towels and linens, was close enough to the beach as to be convenient but far enough away to be quiet at night. We liked best that it felt like home :-) -

Good place to stay, clean and comfortable. Kitchen had necessary cooking and cleaning implements, just needed larger than a 4 cup coffee pot, as two adults would have to make more than one pot much less 5 adults. No grill, which if you don't want to spend all you money in restaurants or upstairs cooking, was a bummer. No access to a washer and dryer and no towels for the beach, so bring your own. We had enough towels for bathing, but no extras. Living room comfortable, 32 in tv with built in DVD and a redbox rental on the corner of the main intersection. Regular TV channels, no cable. Downstairs was an area for sitting outside, temps were nice enough we just took chairs over to the grass area. The house is close enough to the beach you could walk unless you were toting items, then you would want to drive. The beach is clean, water was nice and sun was hot. All combined, we had a good time. We spent five days and four nights there.

This was our second trip to stay in Port a at this location. That should be an indication in itself! It is a hidden jewel of a place to stay, as the outside doesn't look like much, but the inside is comfortable and practical. With a new ownership and management, how clean it will be kept up now and depending on the price and will matter a lot for any future return trips to Port a. So hopefully, we can continue to go here. We really like it.
