We loved the house. It was everything we needed and was clean and well stocked. We liked it so well we rented it for next year. Lookin forward to it.
Starkey as usual was very helpful and took care of any of our needs. -

Consistent with other reviews, this is a good property for a group, has reasonable beach access, great deck overlooking a lake. The kitchen is pretty basic, lacking things like a working blender or a can opener, and we could tell it was the end of the season, because the place needed a thorough cleaning. That said, this will be a place we consider again next time we go to the coast.

My family recently stayed in the Tequila Sunrise house and we had a fantastic visit. We had 6 adults and 3 children ranging in age from 9-13. The house is open and airy with a very welcoming feel. The kitchen was very important to us because we cooked all our meals there, one family member was recovering from cancer treatment and needed to always eat in, and it was very well set up. The pool is very close by and provides a nice setting, but it could really use some maitainance. The beach is a short walk and with parking available near the boardwalk to the beach and cars allowed on the beach itself we felt quite spoiled. One suggestion would be more local and household information available in the house would help out. I didn't find the adults only pool until the day before we left. Overall a terrific house and a wonderful trip.

We had 3 generations staying in the house. There were no problems and I feel that the house was as advertised. The only issue noted was a smell in the downstairs, queen bed, room. We had to open all the windows to disapate the smell when we arrived but it was not noted after that.
There is a significant hike to visit the beach but we were prepared for that. -

This property was great. We essentially lived in the upper level and had room for guests in the two lower bedrooms with their own bathrooms. The house was very well equipped, which made our 2 month stay easier. We walked many times the 600 m to the beach and around our very quiet neighbourhood. We are renting this property again for the coming winter.

We love visiting Port A and we rent homes there several times a year usually through Starkey first then Port A Beach depending on availability of a house for pets. We have had a few issues with Starkey Rentals over the years (Flea infestion at a house in Lost Colony,we paid for 4 bombs and set them off while we went to the beach just so we could get in the garage,no offer of reinbursement or credit or appology-this is one example) This time was very frustrating. We called ahead of time to make sure the property was ready because of the Hurricane threat the Friday/Saturday before. We were told the home was ready to go. When we arrived at the house it was completely closed up with storm shutters. We called and were told someone would be there shortly. After 30 min. no one arrived so we called back and asked if we could remove the door shutters to get inside because it was hot and we had driven 3 hours to get there. We removed the front and the back door shutters got into the home only to find, dirt on the floors, all the furniture from the patio inside the house. Towels from the bathrooms on the floor and toothpaste on the side of the sink. I called back to Starkey to tell them the house was not clean in the mean time the guy to remove the shutters stopped by and said since we could get into the house could he come back in the morning to finish. We said no (we could not get to any of the patios or even open a window till they were removed not to mention the plastic furniture all over the house) He said he had to pick up his son and would be back later. Starky was sending someone to clean the house so we went to the beach for an hour. When we came back no one was at the house, it had been swept and the towels picked up but nothing else. The man returned 30 minutes ater we returned with a partner. They began to remove everything and finally finished at 8:00pm that night. We then had to put all the patio furniture back outside ourselves and had the house in order by 8:30. We were then, hot, tired, hungry and angry. Not once did we hear back from anyone at Starkey, every call was initiated by us. Since we have been back, I have called Starkey 4 times and even left a detailed message on Marsha Starkey's voicemail. NO ONE has ever called us back. As someone that has been a loyal renter of Starkey over the past 10 years you would think our history with them and our business would warrant at least an apology but nothing. I am dissapointed in Starkey and sad that this is how they treat their customers.
