I rented this home last year in 2012 and had also rented it once on 2010. I love the location, it is very spacious and has everything you need for a great stay. I wanted to rent unit this year for the fourth of July but unfortunately there was a minimum 4 night reservation for major holidays and we only wanted to stay 3 nights a little dissapointed but I hope maybe later this summer we can stay there since was plan on visiting Port a again. Starkey properties was able to find us a great condo for this years 4th of July get together in Port a that will accomidate my family and I hope it is as good as this location was. :)

We needed to find a house that would keep 3 couples comfortably. The large bedrooms and queen size beds were great! It also helped having two full bathrooms. We found the house to be vary spacious, especially the wrap around porch. There was plenty of parking and the neighborhood was quiet. WE would definately book this again. I am hoping it's available in the spring to bring our 4 children.

The floor plan of this house is GREAT, the A/C is cold and all the rooms have ceiling fans! There is plenty of parking and the neighborhood is great! The description on the Starkey doesn't mention this, but the location is also practically across the street from the community park/pool.
However, this house needs some basic maintenance. The dryer squeaks SO loudly, you cannot carry on a conversation or hear the TV. There was a note posted on it that says it will squeak for the first 5 minutes of operation, but in reality it will squeak for the entire cycle. The bathtub pipes in the subfloor of the guest bathroom leak. After a bath/shower, the water will leak under the tiles in the bathroom floor and will squish out between the tiles when you step on them. ICK!! We stopped using that bathtub altogether, so everyone was showering in one bathroom. Unfortunately, that one leaks, too. During a bath/shower in either bathroom, the water will rain down under the house and soak whatever is under the house. There were several burned out light bulbs, the closet door of the room with the two beds is broken, the remote control for the TV in that bedroom is also broken, the screen door on the main entrance does not close properly. I would stay in this house again, if the leaky pipes and dryer were fixed. However, when we checked out, no one would come to do our walk through/inspection. I informed the Starkey receptionist who promptly wrote down the issues on a post-it. I have no faith in the post-it repair method.Response from Starkey Properties - 08/27/2009

When some of our children and grandchildren decided to take their vacation in our home town, we agreed that finding a vacation home would be better than staying in hotel rooms. We were absolutely correct! This home has 3 good-sized bedrooms (1 has 2 beds in it, which was perfect for the grandkids). In addition, the kitchen and living room are both decent sized. The home is light and airy, with no carpet (yay!) The deck was the perfect place to catch both sunrises and sunsets, and having the grill and picnic table on the patio downstairs was fabulous!
My daughter especially appreciated the washer and dryer!
We would choose this property again in a heartbeat!
