Left on 11/13/2012 for a stay in November 2012

The first floorconsists of two queen bed rooms, one room withonly 3 walls and a blind to draw for privacy. There is a twin bed in the open area. Multiple and varied colored 1970's era floor tiles feel gritty with dirt. Lighting is poor. The ceiling fans are filthy...something you don't want rotating above your head as you lie in bed. the cold water faucet on the sink required several turns to get any water flowing. It was easy to burn yourself if you turned both the hot and cold water on at the same time. The beds move dangerously on wheels as you try to get into the bed. The first floorbathroom doubles as a laundry room. We we're left with a large bar of dirty soap sitting the sink. The windows and window sills have not been cleaned in a long time as evidenced by dirt and cobwebs. The shower stall has a badly chipped soap dish on the wall. For a five day stay, we we're left with half a box of facial tissues and one small roll of toilet paper.
The upstairs has a master bedroom with ensuite bath, a very narrow kitchen, and a living area with the only television. There is no internet or WiFi service available. At least the floor tiles on the second floor were a consistent grey color throughout. It appears as if some upgrading has been done to the second floor.
Unfortunately my husband and I shared the first floor accommodations for a five day stay. We we're very happy to get out of las Palmas #2.

    Accommodation Port Douglas

    Manager

It is very disappointing to receive such feedback.
We pride ourselves on ensuring our guests have an enjoyable holiday and if any complaints were called into our office during your stay they would have been addressed and rectified immediately.
A rate reduction was requested and granted to accommodate your booking requirements, at a time when every other property during the Solar Eclipse period was increasing their nightly rate.

Las Palmas #2 is an older dated property with a 70's feel to it.
It is represented accurately on our website and we dont advertise that internet facilities are available, so there should not have been any surprises here.

The upstairs area has been refurbished and the kitchen offers plenty of work space for meal preparation. The downstairs area has older dated tiles, not gritty at all but just roughly finished unlike the smooth high gloss tiles that can be found in more mordern villas.
All amenities for our guests are provided with a starter pack of tea, coffee, sugar and milk to get you going. Following this guests usually do their own grocery shopping to cater for their needs.
I sincerely apologise that you did not enjoy your time at Las Palmas #2 and would have been more than happy to deal with any complaints at the time.....if any were made.
This property has proven to be very popular amongst our holiday guests with families seeking budget accommodation, across the road from the beach and about a 7 min walk into town.
