  On our third visit to beautiful Port Douglas, my husband and I booked into Villa 9 for a week to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Suzanne made the booking process effortless, and we were greated upon arrival by the lovely allison who introduced us to the Villa and surrounds with genuine enthusiasm and welcome.
  
  The villa was cool, serene, and beautifully maintained, and the gardens and pool area just spectacular.From lazy mornings breakfasting on the balcony while overlooking the gardens and estuary, to short evening strolls to the main shopping area and restaurants, we felt pampered and relaxed.The villa was quiet and private despite being in a large complex and so close to the main street, with every amenity provided for a comfortable stay, be it fully self-catering or taking advantage of the many restaurants close at hand. The kitchen,laundry and bathrooms were well-stocked with basic grocery lines,cleaning requirements, and toiletries, and there was ample linen provided including beach towels. The furnishings were comfortable and most importantly, the bed and pillows were comfortable.
  
  We loved every minute of our week exploring the reef, rainforest and region, and the villa provided a lovely sanctuary when we weren't feeling overly active. I would thoroughly recommend Villa 9 for those travellers seeking relaxation and a little luxury in the 'self-catering' category.
  
  I would like to mention that the walk to the main street is relatively short but does necessitate negotiating a rather steep road. This could be of concern to some travellers; having a car would certainly be beneficial for anyone in this category.
  
  We will be returning to Port Douglas without doubt and will make Villa 9 our first choice for accommodation.
