Additional Location Information
Willow Cove Cottage is located in the quiet and quaint fishing village of Port Mouton, approximately 10 km south of the historic town of Liverpool. The cottage is situated on a 2-acre oceanfront property with views of and direct access to marvellous Port Mouton Bay. Carter's Beach – probably the most beautiful white sandy beach along the South Shore – is only about a 10-15 minute walk away.
By 1604, Samuel de Champlain, the famous explorer and later founder of Quebec City, had anchored in this protected Bay to chart the Nova Scotia coastline. Nowadays, fishing boats mingle with occasional yachts, sailboats, and kayaks in Port Mouton Harbour. The Bay’s waters are crystal clear and offer fine anchorages sheltered by Spectacle, Mink and Port Mouton Islands.
The picturesque town of Liverpool, once the privateering capital of Nova Scotia is full of stately, meticulously renovated sea merchants’ and captains’ residences from times long gone. Liverpool is the home of the County’s historic museum and provides opportunities for fine dining, grocery shopping and some browsing through galleries and bookshops.
