Our family really enjoyed our brief stay at Barefoot B17. The fact that it was located right in front of the pool was an added bonus. The outside is a bit banged up -- needs a cleaning and the porch door spring is broken -- and we had some problems figuring out the wireless key, but otherwise the cottage was clean, the beds comfortable and the pool was great. :)

As always, house was very comfortable, and clean. Only complaint: TVs were old and small, not up to the quality of the rest of the unit-never noticed what we had before but we had a bit of rain this time. Thank you for a great stay. Everything is looking fairly well kept, we started renting the first year that you were open. Outdoor furniture may need some cleaning and handles on garbage cans outside were missing (stripped screws it appears), sidewals in places need to be pressure cleaned. Paint on edges of counters in kitchenwere scuffed (design flaw in my opinion)But overall, Fabulous and we plan on rebooking.

The cottage was clean and stocked with everything you needed. A turn key vacation. All I had to bring was my luggage!

Barefoot Cottages was a very beautiful place to stay. The Cottage was very clean and well kept. The decor was nice and made you feel right at home.
My only complaint would be the key less entry. The code kept sticking and the door handle would not work. We were there 4 days and it was never fixed though it was brought to the attention on the owners. That was very upsetting when you wanted in and had to call to get help. Nothing was offered to compensate or anything. So with all the in and outs of sight seeing on the beaches and surrounding towns coming home to a jammed door was an aggravation. -

My family of 2 adults 2 kids (8 and 11)stayed here in July. We LOVED this cottage and location in the complex. We were very surprised at how well the cottage was furnished with everything we needed from linens to kitchen items. Our family had more than enough room to spread out. The pools and grounds were very well maintained and beautiful. We enjoyed stepping out of the cottage and enjoying meals out by the pool. There were plenty of tables and chairs everytime we went!
We also enjoyed riding the bicycles that were available here. We brought our youngest son's smaller bike from home and we were glad that we did. The bikes in the resort would have been too big for him. We also brought beach towels from home which we needed.
The only negative thing for us during our visit was the distance to the beach. You have to drive several miles down the road to get to a nice beach area. We enjoy walking on the beach at night and were disappointed with the distance.
This would be the PERFECT spot if it were directly on the beach. -

St Louis MOA fabulous family vacation spot

Had a short vacation time but needed our beach fix for the year. We don't like crowds so this was perfect. The rental property was heaven and at a terrific price. Sitting on the covered porch in the afternoon between trips to the beach was so relaxing. The area was easy-in, easy-out and great access to several beaches. We continue to talk about the area, the vacation, the property and definitely will be back to the 'forgotten coast'. Hope it stays that way.
