The biggest disappointments of this beach cottage rental was that there was no wifi or internet access, no cable, and the televisions in the rooms were small tube televisions from the 80s. You would see nice big flat screens at even the cheapest hotels. I think wifi, cable, and a decent TV should be standard. Also, it said that laundry detergent would be provided so we didn't bring any, and there was none so we had to get some. I asked them not to charge me for travel insurance but they did anyway. Also I think the mandatory $150 cleaning fee is ridiculous, especially since the cottage wasn't that clean when we got there to begin with. Other than those complaints, the house was spacious, and had almost everything we needed. It was a comfortable stay and reasonably priced. I would try and find a similar vacation home with cable and wifi first when booking next time, but it's not completely out of the question to book here again. I would just have to buy a hotspot and bring lots of movies or something to entertain ourselves in the down time.
Great vacation/fishing base

Stayed at Barefoot Cottages for a guys fishing trip. Very nice vacation home, plenty of room, 3.5 bathrooms and parking/wash down area for boats. Close to St Joe Bay and Mexico Beach boat ramps. There is a public beach access point just down the road if interested. Will be ack for family trips.

We rented a three bedroom, and it was like having a home with three master bedrooms. Close enough to Port St. Joe to visit with family and beach access at Windmark was a definite plus. The kitchen floor could have been at lot cleaner. My feet were black from running around barefoot.
The "Barefoot Cottage" was a great place to stay.

I was pleased with my summer vacation. The pool was right outside the front door of this particular cottage. It was a little walk from the car to the front door of the cottage, but worth it.
Family Fun for everyone!

We enjoyed our stay. The kids loved the bikes!. The beaches were clean and quiet. Which suited us just fine. The property was well organized and clean. Our condo had plenty of space for our group. I would plan to return soon.
Had a great time!

I have taken my girls to the gulf for several years for Spring Break. We have always stayed in Seaside/Seagrove area. Over the past couple of years it has become so crowded. We have found a gem in Port St. Joe!! We loved Barefoot Cottages!! The accomadations were wonderful, the pool and cushioned lounge chairs were great and the hot tub was a favorite spot. We loved the upstairs screened in balcony for morning coffee and the free bikes were a bonus. B33 is right in front of pool/hot tub. It is clean, comfortable and met all our needs. We did take the time to drive to Cape San Blas for the beach. We enjoyed it much better than the bay. We will come again and bring friends next year!! Read more

The house was great. There was plenty of room for all of our guest. We were located next to the pool and hot tub. The beds were comfortable and amenities were excelent.
It was close to both Mexico Beach and Port St. Joe. We could spend our days on the cape and then go to Mexico Beach to watch the sunset.

* The location is nice . . . across the street practically from WindMark Beach area with very nice places to eat in the town of Port St. Joe, FL.
* B33 home needs lots of work to upgrade kitchen items, including pots and pans.
*Bedding needs to be changed (especially in the master bedroom on the 1st floor of the home. It's old and used to the point that it "takes a way" from the entire experience.
*The decor needs to be upgraded and more appealing for a beach-type rental.
*The furniture on the 1st floor is old, used, dirty and it appears to not have been cleaned for years. The rug on the floor was also dirty. The sleep sofa was not usable. The right top side had a broken hinge on the sleeper bed. I'm writing a letter to request 50% REFUND of my rental cost paid.
*I would not recommend this home for rent until it has been completely cleaned, upgraded and assessed by a professional decorator.
*The GREEN facility was excellent. Customer Service staff was excellent!

Barefoot Cottages is a very peaceful and relaxing resort. It is a little farther away from the beach than what we would have liked, but the accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen needed to be a little better stocked. We do a lot of cooking and there were necessary things missing like a collander, spatula, extra frying pan and large container for making tea, lemonade etc. The iron was missing when we got there, but management gave us a replacement right away. Most places that we have rented in the past have had DVD and book libraries. That would have been nice and renters could add to the library(that's what we usually do - take books and leave them at the rental for the next renters.) We loved being so very close to the pool. Port St. Joe is a lovely little town and we enjoyed the shops. The beaches at Windmark were not very good for swimming, so we went to Mexico Beach and Cape San Blas. Overall everything was great and we would recommend it to friends.

Normally, we stay at Mexico Beach; however, we were at Port St. Joe for a wedding and wanted to have less travel back and forth to our activities. The only thing about Barefoot Cottages is that they are not on the beach. If we were going for a week at the beach (because of children and grandchildren), we probably would not stay at Barefoot Cottages. The facilities and staff were wonderful. We would not hesitate about staying there again. In fact, we have mentioned Thanksgving at Barefoot Cottages. Great place to stay and relax.

I have been going to the Mexico Beach area with my family since I was a child in the early 70's. My family has a summer reunion every year beginning on Father's Day weekend. The Barefoot Cottages complex was very nice, I especially like the complimentary bicycles.
The unit was extremely clean and decorated nicely. I spent the first 10 minutes putting the decorations out of reach of my 3 year old son and 1.5 year old daughter. The pool was right outside the front door which allowed my wife and I to sunbathe with the monitor next to us while our kids napped.
I had a great time and will probably rent again.

We had a great time in our rental. We were there for a family wedding. The location was very convenient for all of our guests. Everyone had a great time during the visit.
