If you are looking for a tropical getaway then look no further. Amazing location with the beach on your doorstep. The house is fully decked out with all the mod cons. All of the bedrooms have air con so sleeping in comfort is no problem. We spent most of the time either in the pool or sitting outside looking out to the amazing view (wine in hand). It is just a short drive to Port Vila and the vehicle was supplied. There are 'house girls' who come in each day and clean and do any washing which is returned to your room folded away neatly, great service. The kitchen is fully stocked with a revolving pantry system which is a brilliant idea, you take food, you leave food. As we got in late we were able to make a platter of food and wash it down with a couple of cold local beers already there, fantastic. We can't wait to go back and take the kids with us...

From the moment you step inside this fabulous modern home, you know you are going to have a great time. You will want for nothing, space to relax or share time with others, modern facilities throughout including a great kitchen. Views out to the ocean across the infinity pool, Bar B Q's by the pool in the evenings and a short trip (or walk along the beach) to one of the best restaurants in the South Pacific. How can you not enjoy it. The House staff are excellent, honest and friendly, with that cheeky humour so enjoyed in the Pacific Islands. Slept the sleep of the innocent every night, and awoke to another beautiful day in paradise. Try it you won't be dissapointed, I know, this was my second stay here, and I plan one now take a week off to stay at . Can't recommend it high enough.

The place is huge and right on the beach. House is big enough to find a spot all by yourself if need be or socialise, swim in the pool, walk along the beach or swim in the swim holes.
The maids were fantastic and if you dropped some clothing it was back washed and ironed before you knew it and very pleasant people with it.
Close to town if needed and I loved the walks along the beach or around the neighbourhood.
Would go back anytime. -

I have been to Vila several times and stayed at various resorts. this time however I decided along with my sister and her husband to stay at Casa De Mar. What a fantastic decision that turned out to be.
Firstly the property: the house is huge, very nicely furnished with plenty of different spots to curl up with a book. Fantastic kitchen, what a bonus cooking up delicious local fare bought from the markets. The house is spotless thanks to asnet and Wendy who came in every day and took care of the housework. Philip kept the yard and pool area ship shape, even raking the sand out the back each day!
It is absolute sea front, at low tide we found beautiful water holes to swim in.
The property comes with an airconditioned duel cab ute, so getting around wasn't a problem.

My wife, her sister and myself were looking for a complete break away from the hustle and bustle of life in aussie, and boy, did we find it at Casa De Mar just 15-20 mins from the township of Port Vila.
From the airport where we were greeted with a refreshing cold drink and a happy smile by Seth our driver and who obligingly stopped at the local supermarket for a few supplies - to the warm welcome at the home from asnet, our 10 days were pure relaxation.
Casa de Mar is a spacious and gracious home, maintained spotlessly by a friendly and discreet staff. Not too far from Vila but far enough to be able to unwind and enjoy the 'real' Vanuatu as opposed to staying at a resort.
The Tamanu Resort and Restaurant is a short walk along the beachfront for the occasional meal out...The food and service is wonderful and the staff welcome you as a "local".
Having said that, we were happy to stay put and do most of our cooking at 'home', enjoying the pool and rock pools when not venturing out to explore various parts of the island in the 4WD which is included as part of the package.
We cannot recommend Casa De Mar highly enough and have made tentative arrangements with extended family to return next year. Thank you Glen for providing such a lovely and welcoming house for your guests and a special 'thank-you' to asnet for making us feel like part of her family.

after leaving brisbane via sydney to port villa quite a long day got to casa de mar dying for a cold rum & coke and ice maker in fridge not working {disconnected}also cockroaches running around everywhere {around & in oven {which didn,t work too well either}in the draws & cupboards as well so everything we used had to be rinsed off. informed owner glen but pest control didn,t get there for 3 days.all they did was get around with spray cans which didn,t fix the problem !!no console game as advertised either.light switch hanging out of wall in room beside garage & dble power point hanging out of external wall by pool !! not too safe if young kids were around glen said electrician was coming but didn,t show in 10 days we were there. i think that since house is on the market it,s been let go a bit.pretty dissapointing considering what we paid. would not return.beds wern,t too comfortable either.

We have just returned form Casa De Mar and just have to say what an awesome place. I found Glen easy to deal with and prompt with emails. We had a large group of 7 and easily fitted in. The housegirls were wonderful in taking care of daily duties so we could well and truly relax. It was a bit out of town, but was great to have total seclusion and with a restaurant up the beach, was great for slipping up on nights we couldn't be bothered cooking. Also having use of a 4wd was great to pop into town for shopping. I cant talk enough about how much we enjoyed our trip to this wonderful friendly tropical paradise. The people were friendly and happy, the weather was great. Loved mele and the cascades and a trip round the island very interesting. Also at the house their is everything there....kitchen well set up, there really is no need to take anything...good supply of reef shoes, bug spray even an esky to take to town for shopping! JUST AWESOME!

We recently stayed at Casa De Mar with two families (4 adults and 5 children aged 3 to 9). The house was "huge" and open planned and came with everything you can think of, including a bottle of wine and a some "tusker" beers awaiting your arrival!!
The setting was "picture postcard" perfect! After arriving late at night, it was just simply stunning to wake up, look over the pool through to the beautful white sands and onto the ocean, all at your back door! just stunning.
The Tamanu Resort is a 100m walk (to the left if looking at the ocean) up the beach and the food is fantastic. We found it a bit expensive but well worth it. We enjoyed a great breakfast and dinner there.
Wendy our "house girl" was brilliant. The kids loved her and so did we! We spent a few hours with her in her village where our kids were able to spend some time with the local kids, playing soccer and being silly. Just fantastic, thank you Wendy!
I would like to add though for those travelling with 3 year old "wild childs" like ours, that the pool is fenced on 3 sides, not completely fenced as it is an infinity pool. This if fine as long as you don't have a child that can climb the unfenced end of the pool and get in!
Also, the main house has three bedrooms, the huge main with ensuite, a second with queen bed and single bed (with lovely courtyard) and third bedroom with queen bed. The fourth bedroom is just seperated from the main house. It has a queen bed, toilet and outside shower. It is perfect for adults or teenagers/older children, but not for young kids (unless they are the extremely brave type who are happy to be seperated from parents!)
We loved the use of the car. The drive into town took us about 20min and was a bit rough. The roads had a lot of "pot holes" due to bad weather (a third of the drive is on dirt roads) however, we felt this added to the adventure of things!
Grocery shopping is another adventure! The food is a little more expensive than here in australia but you can buy just about everything we can here. One thing to know, the butcher does not arrive until 3pm (if he shows up at all!) so don't do your shopping early. Also, you can not buy beer on a Sunday!
A few things that are a must in Vanuatu - Do a local village tour, visit the cascade waterfalls (It's a bit of a hike up but well worth it), vist the "Blue Lagoon" and Eton Beach. Otherwise, sit back and relax in your own stunning backyard at Casa De Mar!

The house, setting and staff are amazing. We stayed as a group of 9 for a week, and on several of the days we never left the section. Swimming, Baminton, Eating and Sleeping.

We recently stayed here with four couples and four children under four and all agreed that we could not have had a better holiday.
The house was perfect for children with a large fenced beach area for them to play in, toys provided and a fenced pool.
The great thing about this house is that it is on the white sand, surf beach rather than the lagoon. The view from the house is wonderful
Glen and his staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful.
At low tide we loved the rockpools right in front of the house and breakfast at Tamanu Resort next door was fantastic.
The one small thing that could be improved is that the room outside the house is not quite as comfortable as the rooms inside.

We recently had a wonderful week staying at this outstanding property. The warm welcome we received on arrival by the housekeeper was delightful, with fresh fruit, flowers, bottled water and a complimentary bottle of wine all included. The house is very well presented and set-up, and caters for open plan living with quality inclusions, has also an extensive DVD and book library collection. House and gardens were well maintained by a team of very friendly and obliging staff. The owners supplied a car for the guests to use which was great and another added bonus. The fact that you have a beautiful beach at your door step with safe swimming holes and also your own pool on the property left us spoilt for choice. Contact with the owner was always friendly and helpful with the "Guest Information Sheets" provided being very informative and useful. There were 3 couples in our group and all agree that this is a great property for a relaxing holiday, one we would love to come back to one day!

We stayed here with our children mid September. We had the most fabulous stay. The place was very modern, the staff were extremely friendly and fenced wet edge pool was perfect with the children. The white sandy beach out front was a real bonus.
We would definitely return to The Vanuatu Executive Retreat. We highly recommend it to any family traveling to Vanuatu.

Well what can I say...we have just returned from the most wonderful stay at casa de mar at Tamanu.
The house was perfect for our group of eight that included a toddler. It had a fenced pool, insect screens and aircon. We didn't really need the aircon but it was good for our toddler sleeping at night.
The staff were wonderful, discreet but very helpful and spoke very good english.
Being a few minutes walk from Tamanu resort was great as this resort has a wonderful restauarant for those times you don't feel like cooking. Or just want a quiet coffee and watch the world go by!
The house was really well set up with everything we could possibly want...even an exercise machine! I found lounging by the pool suited me better!
Having a vehicle to use was great for when we felt like exploring or going in to town.
The setting was perfect with the most beautiful beach right in front of the house. We only ever saw three other people on the whole beach while we were there!
We were welcomed with a lovely bottle of wine, fruit bowl and cold tuskers in the fridge! Great!
Such a different experience having our own oasis after staying in hotels/motels in other parts of the world.
We travelled with a large group for a wedding in vanuatu and the group rented two houses...we had many visits from the "other" house, not that there was anything with the other house, (It was lovely as well), but I think ours just had that lovely relaxing, homely feel.
We will be back...hopefully soon. -

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this holiday home. The kids loved the infinity pool and endless playing in the gardens, swings, hammocks and the beach. The house had ample outdoor and indoor living areas, which gave everyone their peace and privacy during our stay. We were thoroughly impressed at our stay here - my husband does not usually like the idea of staying at holiday homes, as he prefers the facilities and services that resorts usually offer. However, he loved all the extras that this holiday home offered - the lovely housekeeping, garden and security staff at the house, use of our own private car, the little extras like the DVD library, welcome wine & fruit and the complete seclusion and privacy, that this location offered. Highly recommended.
