Silver Creek, WashingtonGreat Place To Stay Outside of Portland
Left on 02/20/2013 for a stay in February 2013
This place was great. I was very happy with the Condo itself and the people who owned it.
Let's start out with the positive
The owners were great. They worked with me before, during, and after the stay. They were also very quick with their responses. Great communication.
Beautiful Place! Loved it! I read the other reviews and read about the place being small, but I was actually surprised by how roomy it was. Small living room and a Med size kitchen, but I thought it was fine. Nice big rooms with nice big beds. Which reminds me, comfy beds!!
I love how secure the building is. You need a key for just about everything. It made me feel very safe. I had a few younger children with me so this made the experience a good one.
The place is well stocked with everything we needed and everything we didn't. We did have only a little roll of toilet paper, and there were a few things wrong, but once we said something to the owners, they took care of it right away. I was very impressed
There's a few negative things you should know about the place.
Your not really renting it for its location. I mean, Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with it. Its only about 15, 20 from downtown Portland, and right off the freeway, but the building itself is just surrounded by other home buildings. Nothing much around it.
And because of that, the traffic is kind of loud. To be fair though, I live out in the Middle of nowhere and have no noise around me. So, I would say its normal Portland noise.
The main reason I was excited about this place was the river view. I would not call it a river view. If you look real hard you can see it. However, they do have two different condos, and the other one may have a better view.
Only other thing is the pool. We were unable to go to it, but we were looking all over for it. When I finally I asked, I was told its not even in the building. Its at hotel across the street. Kind of weird. But oh well, at least its a pool and we could have used it.
All in all I was happy with the place and I would be very happy to stay in it again. -

Austin, TXGreat Portland Condo
Left on 10/08/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We rented this condo for a four day period. The owners were very communicative and promptly answered our questions. Located on the fourth floor, the unit has a great view towards the Columbia River. The condo is modern, well appointed, clean, and it's obvious the owners take pride in it. The unit is roomy, quiet, and there's a nice balcony as well. Any common household items we needed were on hand, such as towels, laundry detergent, paper towels, and so forth.
Plenty of street parking, as well as a spot in the garage, although we weren't able to use that due to some type of maintenance taking place at the time. Quick access to I-5 means it's easy to venture into Vancouver or Portland.
Would definitely stay here again on a future visit to Portland. -

Fond du Lac, WisconsinDisappointed
Left on 10/02/2012 for a stay in September 2012
The pictures for this one are great, but we were surprised at how small it was in reality. We stayed 2 nights and paid $438, which would have been fine if the unit was as we had expected. We have relied on Trip advisor before for qualifying rentals and were very surprised at the difference between the reviews we read and how the unit must have deteriorated since these reviews. The carpeting in the living room and halls were stained and filthy. There were rugs thrown down to try to cover up the rugs, but the stains were evident all over. The fireplace is beautiful, but it didn't work when we were there. It looked like the gas was turned off on it. At night when we went to close the blinds in the living room and the big one was missing!! My husband finally found it in the master bedroom closet on the floor along the back. We managed to put it back up ourselves. The strings were broken on it, but it still covered the window.
The master bedroom is tiny and has no TV. The master bathroom shower doors were clean, but there was black mold in the corners of the shower itself. Yuck! There was no soap for the shower or bathtub so we had to use the pump soap from the sink to take a shower.
When I went to make coffee the next morning I had to wash out the coffee filter since it had a ring of old coffee grounds around it and had obviously not been washed. The glasses and kitchen ware were mismatched and looked to be castoffs from some other kitchen. The unit has other minor areas of neglect and the owner is obviously doesn't know how to do maintenance. He needs to spend some money on the place to keep it in rentable condition. -

Cape CodExcellant Value, spotless property
Left on 09/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The unit was bigger than we thought with 2 spacious bedrooms and baths as well as an alcove off the living room with a day bed. Great location just off the highway overlooking the Columbia River, nice place for walks. Property was spotless and the washer dryer was great to have just after our week cruise to alaska. Rate was very reasonable and included internet access and satellite TV. the kitchen was fully stocked with all our cooking needs. Great deal, we will use it again the next time we are in Portland.

Calgary, AB CanadaA Bit of a Disappointment
Left on 07/13/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The photos are great and the apartment really does look like this but this only tells part of the story. My husband and I stayed here for three nights this summer with our two young children. The apartment has plenty of bedroom space for 6 people but lacks living room and dining room space - very squished together.
What we liked
It was very clean and modern and had access to a pool and hot tub in another building. Having laundry facilities with young kids was good too but you need to bring your own detergent since the bottle left was empty.
What we didn't like
Check in was delayed by owners by two hours, check in time is clearly labelled as 4pm and we were asked not to check in until 6pm the afternoon of arrival. After driving 7 hours with two young children this was tiresome. No deduction in rates was given for this delay.
Towels were still drying when we arrived and no dish wash cloths or dish towels were provided. We did call Tim and he dropped off dish towels but no wash cloths???
Our biggest complaint and the only reason I would not recommend this unit to anyone else is the lack of cooking pots and pans and lack of kitchen paraphernalia. When I rent a unit with a kitchen I have an expectation that I will be able to cook and not have to eat out. There is one pot and a frying pan that has most of the non-stick scrapped off. How do you cook for a family with only one pot and pan? The spices displayed in the photo are not there and there is a lack of real cooking tools.
Response from Timothy L. - 07/14/2012
Owner
We are very sorry to learn that Antoinette and her family were disappointed in their stay at our condo. We strive to provide an outstanding vacation experience for our guests, and will use this feedback to improve our accommodations in every way possible. We are immediately adding additional new pots and pans to the kitchen, and apologize for falling short in this regard. We have and do provide a full 22-piece set of cooking utensils, along with plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, eating utensils and accessories.
Our records indicate that the check-in process began at 5:28 PM, after Antoinette and Josh notified us that they wished to arrive around 5:00 PM. On the check-in date of 7/8, we experienced an unusual maintenance issue with the unit's washer / dryer, requiring our attention to repair it and delaying our regular cleaning and preparation. This was the cause of our request for a check-in time 30 minutes later than requested (not two hours), and why the laundered towels were still finishing in the dryer at check-in time.
This 2BD/2BA condo is approximately 1200 sq ft, and we make every effort to convey its size and dimensions accurately in our listings by providing an image of the floorplan. All previous feedback from guests on this issue has been positive, with many indicating that the unit is larger and roomier than expected. We've attempted to offer a layout that maximizes the space the unit provides, and are confident that it represents a good value for groups of 3-6.
The sole requests we received from the guests during their stay were for dish towels and access to the pool and hot tub. Both were provided as quickly as possible within 15 minutes. We wish that Antoinette and Josh had related their other issues to us directly at the time, so that we could have addressed and remedied them as best as possible. -
Family of 4 Traveling with Teen
Phoenix and St LouisBeautiful Condo w/Amazing Views
Left on 05/28/2012 for a stay in December 2011
Our family of four including one teenager traveled to Portland to stay in this beautiful condo for the Christmas holidays. It felt like a home away from home. This was so much better than staying in a hotel. The condo was clean, accommodating, and spacious. There was a nice fireplace to keep us warm and cozy. The 2 bedrooms were on opposite sides of the condo. Each bedroom had large beds with nice bedding. There was even a small den area off the living room with additional sleeping area. Our teen used it to read and sleep sometimes. Everything was provided for cooking full meals. Wifi was also provided. The view from the living room and kitchen was beautiful. We also like the fact that there were nearby stores and restaurants. Tim was very nice and great to work with. We look forward to returning if we visit Portland again.

Left on 01/27/2012 for a stay in October 2011
This apartment was awesome! We stayed here with friends last October. The location is superb. Easy access to the freeways, no matter which direction we went exploring. The apartment itself was great for two couples. Lots of room to spread out, and the bedrooms are located away from each other for plenty of privacy. The huge windows were a great way to start and end the day with gorgeous views of the Cascades and the river. Secure building, Tim was great, even offering to leave his dinner date, when our security key wasn't working. He got us inside remotely, and had the issue fixed promptly. Overall, great place to stay!

Left on 01/24/2012 for a stay in January 2012
We rented the condo using Tripadvisor. It was beautiful and comforable - the view was delightful and the living room particularly brightly lit (when the sun was shining - we had some rainy weather). It was very clean and well taken care of. And the owners were friendly, helpful and very easy to work with.
We had gone to Portland to participate in an annual Chocolate Festival, so we had extra cases of product with us. The condo was large enough to handle us as well as 12 cases of chocolate and associated equipment.
An added bonus was the wonderful pizza restaurant that was within easy walking distance of the condo, and the shops (Safeway, etc.) that were located off the next highway exit. The airport is also close by which made this trip even easier.
I'd highly recommend this condo and am already looking forward to renting it again next year. -
The Happy Family
Capistrano Beach, CAGreat Place
Left on 01/18/2012 for a stay in December 2011
My family stayed here for 4 nights in December. The condo is lovely with no problems parking and plenty of places for a walk. We did the 10 minute walk over to pick up the MaX for a ride into downtown one day. The public transportation system is great and you can see a lot of the city that way. The views of the river were lovely and the fireplace was a wonderful asset on those rainy Portland days. Tim was terrific in meeting us early when we arrived sooner than we had expected and while they live in the building, we didn't see them, but felt comfortable that they were accessible if we ran into any problems (which we fortunately didn't). Restaurants within walking distance are limited, but the condo is conveniently located to hopping in your car and driving to somewhere nearby or catching the MaX if you don't want to drive. The accomodations are luxurious and we all enjoyed our time there. We would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I came with our 4 children (2, 5, 7, and 8 years old). The place was new, clean, and very practical. It looks exactly like the pictures. The location is convenient, parking is free street parking, and the owners were extremely professional to work with. The neighborhood is quiet and the view is very tranquil. You will need a car to get around but there is a Target and grocery store within 5-10min of the building. There is also a Subway within walking distance.
We didn't stay at the condo that much but would highly recommend. -

What a perfect place to stay in Portland! This condo is close to everything. Only 15 minutes to downtown and minutes to restaurants and shopping. The condo is beautifully appointed with upscale furnishings, linens and a real cook's kitchen. The view of the river is spectacular from the large living room windows and the spacious balcony. The fireplace is a great place to watch the sun set and enjoy a glass of wine. Our vacation to Portland will not soon be forgotten. Thanks Tim and Sarah for your hospitality!

Left on 05/25/2011 for a stay in May 2011
This was the first time I have done a vacation rental and it was absolutely perfect! The two beds and baths are spacious, modern, clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was also well stocked and very useful and the living room was a perfect place to relax. It's a quick drive downtown, or the train is a 10 minute walk away. Parking is also free so the value of staying here instead of a hotel is incredible. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Portland!

Tim and his wife, Sara, were wonderful hosts. We stayed at their condo in Portland for two days. The condo is located only five to ten minutes from downtown. Also, the condo is very spacious and the master suite is unbelievable. The bed was so nice that I didn't want to get up!! If I'm ever in the Portland area again, I will most certainly stay with the Longs. Thank you Tim and Sara for the 5-star service!!

This rental was perfect in every way. I have grown tired of hotel stays and wanted to try something different. Tim and Sara are down to earth and would no doubt return again and stay at their place. It's very clean, cozy and comfortable. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to explore Portland and its unique neighborhood pockets.

We stayed and Tim and Sara's between X-mas and New Year with grandparents, kids, and grand kids. Nine total people with 3 kids under 7 years of age. This house absorbed everyone and it never felt crowded. The kitchen family room area became the favorite, but those looking to get some space could sit in the living room or retreat to a bedroom.
This house is well equipped with nice beds and other touches that can make or break a rental. Would not hesitate to stay at this place again. -

The room, bathroom and house were very clean! The bed was comfortable and Timothy and Sara kept the house warm and comfortable. Their kitchen was well stocked, clean and plenty of cookware/utensils to use. Not very far from downtown Bend either (about 5 minutes). The living room was a comfortable place to hang out and it was nice to have access to the washer and dryer. An excellent and very affordable place to stay! Thanks!

This worked out great during my visit to Bend. Just what I needed. I felt comfortable right away. Tim & Sarah's inviting home is close to everything. When I didn't know where everything was they helped me find my way! My room was clean and comfortable all at a great price. I have already recommended airbnb to many of my friends and certainly encouraged them to consider Tim and Sarah's home on their next visit to Bend. Thanks again Tim and Sarah. Dennis

Timothy & his wife Sara were wonderful hosts. They opened there home to us for Christmas.Timothy cooked us a delicious breakfast both mornings. We rented two rooms. The beds were very comfortable with new clean linens and fluffy towels! The house was peaceful and in a quiet neighborhood. About a seven minute drive to downtown. We spent one morning walking archie Briggs canyon in the snow, located near the house. We would recommend staying with these hosts, in their beautiful home at an amazingly affordable cost. Thank you Tim and Sara, hope to see you in the Valley...
