Description from the owner
The Cecilia is a condominium like no other. Situated in the Hawthorne District of Portland, Oregon (five minutes from downtown by car) and only one block from Hawthorne Avenue, it is an elegantly restored, circa 1910 condominium. Relax in the comfortable, beautifully furnished living room, sleep on the best of mattresses with high thread count sheets, cook in the gourmet kitchen (if you can resist the many incredible restaurants within walking distance) and enjoy your morning coffee on the private porch.
After a full day of activities, settle into an Adirondack chair on the porch with a glass of wine and plan your next day in Portland...Read more

Additional Location Information
While looking for a "home away from home" in Portland, I fell in love with the Hawthorne/Belmont area-the lovely craftsman style homes, tree-lined streets and the proximity to absolutely everything in Portland. I could walk to downtown and the Saturday market or hop on the bus and be at Powell's bookstore, OMSI, Convention Center or train station in less than 30 minutes. Some of Portland's best restaurants are within a few blocks. There are many great neighborhoods in Portland-but none better than this!

Broomfield, ColoradoGreat Place, Grreat Neighborhood
Left on 05/06/2013 for a stay in May 2013
The unit is perfect for two couples. Has a balcony/deck where you can sit outside and watch the world go by or have a glass of wine and some cheese. Joan was very helpful in recommending places to eat or go. The unit has all kinds of maps and brochures for those of us who aren't too familiar with Portland and the surrounding area. We also hit a fantastic strreak of weather.

Tampa, FLHawthorne Gem! Cecilia Condo
Left on 08/06/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We cannot adequateley express how pleased we were with our stay at the Cecilia! We all commented that of all of the dozens of places we had stayed in the U.S. and Europe, it was by far the nicest apartment and best-appointed property we had seen! The kitchen was truly nicer than ours at home, the décor was perfect, and the amenities were quite generous and substantial! We could easily have lived there for months as literally all of the kitchen and bath essentials were in place. The art work as well was very tasteful and well-chosen! We also loved the location as it put us close to all of the great restaurants and food trucks in the Hawthorne but also close to downtown and other attractions. It was a great stay and we wish that we had more than one week. Next time we visit Portland, we will be sure to stay at the Cecilia.

Torrance CaliforniaA true home away from home!
Left on 05/14/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We recently spent a few days in one of my favorite cities...Portland.
This was a girlfriend get away trip. We usually stay in the Pearl but decided on trying a different neighborhood. We were thrilled with our choice.
The Cecelia is a great place to stay. It is charming, comfortable & very clean. The apartment has it all. Joan, the owner has a great eye for detail. As much as we enjoyed the inside, the covered porch was our favorite spot. You just want it to rain!
There are lots of places nearby where you can eat, drink & shop.
The food truck pod a couple of short blocks away is a must.
It's also easy to get downtown either by bus or by walking. We did both.
The Cecelia is a gem!
Joan, it was a pleasure to meet you!
Thank you,
Your new friends,
Debbie & Alicia

Santa Fe, NMA wonderful 2nd stay
Left on 02/07/2012 for a stay in January 2012
We stayed at the Cecilia for 3 weeks in Sept./Oct 2011. This time the weather was cool and rainy, but we were warm, cozy and comfortable in the Ceceila. It has become our home away from home. Quiet and elegant in a fabulous walking neighborhood. Everything is provided, from creature comforts to information. We are frequent visitor to Portland and the Ceceila will continue to be our "base camp".

43323Nice Location; Comfortable; Attractive
Left on 02/03/2012 for a stay in January 2012
This worked out great! The condo is well furnished and the kind of place you just want to hang out in. Really open living area, huge kitchen (well appointed), and private spaces with two bedrooms plus a great porch. Ok, so the porch didn't get much use in January, but it would be fabulous most other times of the year. It's close to shopping and dining, and it seems to be 3 miles from just about anywhere you want to go in Portland. And the owner/manager was terrific. If you can't handle 16 steps up to the second floor property, though, it would be a problem.
