      Great place to stay

Left on 09/04/2012 for a stay in August 2011

I was looking at this listing with nostalgia and realized with dismay that I'd never posted a review after our great stay at the Kinley Manor Coach House. (Indicated date of stay is approximate.)

This was a wonderful place for my husband and I to stay while visiting our son and his wife.
Close to the Max, we were across the river and in the city quickly and easily. I was a short walk from a great yoga studio and enjoyed daily runs around a beautiful neighborhood. It's only a block or so from a large market so that we were able to easily cook in.

The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of towels, etc. The only downside was lack of comfortable seating/couch, etc., for the eve we stayed in and watched a movie with the kids. Small point to quibble, but we're a family that likes to sprawl!

All in all, we would highly recommend this place for a short or long stay in a wonderful city!

Very Nice Place and Incredible Location

Left on 09/04/2012 for a stay in August 2012

My wife and I stayed here for nine nights. Rupert and Scott were great getting us set up and then letting us just enjoy ourselves. There's a Safeway a block away and a Village Inn for breakfast. Several restaurants right on Broadway with at least ten of them in easy walking distance.
The coach house is three levels, so be aware there are a lot of steps. The garage, washer & dryer, full size fridge are on the ground floor. The full kitchen, living room (with futon) and bathroom are on the first floor and the bedroom in on the top floor. Having a bad knee, I slept on the futon most nights. It was comfortable.
The place isn't huge, but it is comfortable, especially for longer stays. If need be, you could cook all of your meals and eat them here too. The TV in the living room is a bit small, but I just sat closer. The heating/AC I can't tell you about. We were there in late august and left the windows open the whole time. No heat or aC the entire stay. That was nice.
Overall, I'd recommend the Kinley Manor Coach House.

Great house to stay if in Portland

Left on 02/26/2012 for a stay in October 2010

I stayed in this house when visiting Portland, Or,. The man that ownes the house is so friendly and accommodating when you arrive, but leaves you to enjoy the house and Portland for the rest of your stay. But he lives next door if you need anything. The location was great in a quite street, but just up the road to catch the free train that runs around Portland, called the downtown Fareless Square. You can catch this train to the airport for $4. It stops right outside the airport. I am going back to Portland this year and will stay here again. Definatley recommend this house.
