Porto,by the river Dourois the city which named the famous wine. If you cross the bridge S. Luis, you will be at one of the Porto's caves tasting some of the best brands.

It is a wonderful place to discover, and the perfect start point to explore the north of Portugal. It is a must for sightseeing, perfect for shopping (textiles, shoes and all kind of goods) and charming for nightlife

Other recommended places, Casa da Música, Fundação Serralves and its beautiful surrounding park, and the City Park (Parque da Cidade). Palácio de Cristal, Palácio da Bolsa, all the downtown area, Ribeira (old docks along the river bank) will take your breath away.

In the downtown area more specifically The S. Francisco Church, Clerigos Tower, Bookshop Lello, Ferreira Borges Market, the bolhão market, The Carmo's Church, The rectory of oporto university...Wich is beside the ancient "Cafe Piolho"...A place that has a very interesting history...outside the downtown area you can also visit the river mouth by Tram.

The metro can also take you to Póvoa de Varzim, where is a big beach and also one of the most famous casinos. If you prefer you can go to Espinho, to the beach or the casino. If you want to go to Foz (the nearest beach at the North bank) you can take the tramway and will be there in 10 minutes; further there are buses to Matosinhos, where you can enjoy more seaside.
