A nineteenth century house, located in the historic area of Foz do Douro, classified National Heritage Site.
This charming and fashionable district of Porto is located “where Douro river meets the Atlantic ocean”.
The house with two volumes carefully reconstructed and expanded is articulated around a patio garden.
Architectural project by Eduardo Souto de Moura, Pritzker Prize winner 2011.

We stayed in this House with our 15 and 17 year old sons.
From the beginning till the end we where very impressed by:
- The house itself
- The furnishing
- The kind and warm welcome from antonìo and Catarina
- The wonderfull breakfast
- The quiet, but still central location
- The lovely neighboorhood with little local shops
- The walk to the beach
- The easy way to get to Porto centre with the old tram or modern bus
- The nice restaurants nearby and the tips provided by Catarina
Our sons loved their rooms, and it was great to share our breakfast on the patio. Also the cakes and bottle of water where very much appreciated during the day. We would recommend this place to everybody who wants to stay between the locals in Porto and wants to enjoy a perfect house and excellent service.

Last July my boyfriend and I spent one night in Porto, staying in this house and everything was excellent.
The "4rooms" apartment is a special place, and our experience there have been wonderful. Courtesy, professionalism, culture and exceptional hospitality; the owners antonio and Catarina are able to grant their guest the maximum confort and care. Furthermore, the house is an extraordinary example of modern architecture and design (it has been designed by Eduardo Souto de Moura), it is warm and full of charme.I travel a lot for business and holidays, and this is no doubt one of the higest-quality places I have ever been. My deepest and most sincere compliments to antonio and Catarina for the beautiful atmosphere and the unique place they have created.
