Staffin is only 15 miles from Portree and 16 miles from the ferry port of Uig - gateway to the Outer Hebrides.

This is great location to visit the more remote north of Skye. The house was a blessing for us as the weather was not great so there was more time spent in the house than originally planned. The wifi throughout the house was great. Remember to take your slippers as the beautiful kitchen and bathroom floors are cold.

Tigh Cilmartin is located near Staffin Beach and Quiraing. On the way to Staffin from Portree, you can have a great look of the Old Man of Storr and Kilt Rock. It is in a very good location to access Skye attractions.
As for the property, it is very well maintained with nice furnishing. Kitchen has all the utilities you would need/want, including a small refrigerated wine cellar and a juicer. Two bathrooms are equipped with monsoon showers along with hand showers; one of them also has a nice bath tub. The dinning area is very spacious and the lounge area (living room) comes with a large screen TV complemented with a movie collection just in case it rains :o) It is right by a small river, and outside there is a picnic table and chairs to spend relaxing time within your own garden. I don't think you can ask for much more with all the amenities provided at this great property.

We stayed at Tigh Cilmartin for 10 days and had a fantastic holiday. The house is spacious, comfortable and immaculately presented with every modern convenience. It is in a very peaceful and tranquil place without being cut off or isolated. We will definitely return.

This is a fantastic house. Lots of space for 2 adults and 2 kids (14 and 9) and it's immaculately presented. We had great weather all week so spent a lot of time in the large, grassed gardens. The house is set back from the 'main' road behind a church, next to a stream and fields. It's not isolated but neither is it overlooked by other houses. The beds are fabulously comfy and bedrooms come complete with large white dressing gowns. The kitchen is great - fully equipped, modern and clean. We were also provided with a welcome hamper containing local produce. Flatscreen tvs in the lounge and all bedrooms free wireless broadband, free to use house phone. Quality furniture throughout, great selection of dvds. All in all a brilliant property - can't fault it at all.

I travelled from australia in 2009 and stayed at Tigh Cilmartin for a week, l liked the house and the area so much, l came back in 2010 and stayed for 2 weeks. The house is extremely comfortable with all mod cons. The area is perfect if you like to get away from it all, with beautiful scenery, close to the sea, and some very interesting sights to visit close by. I have recommended it to several friends on this side of the world for a place to visit.

I stayed at Tigh Cilmartin with my teenage sons and was slightly worried there wouldn't be enough to entertain them for a week, I needn't have worried! They were more than happy to wander down to the beach, trek through the forests and soak up the fresh air.
When it rained we watched Dvds and played cards in front of the fire and we all looked forward to bedtime in the huge beds with squidgy pillows and cozy duvets. It was the perfect place to spend some quality time with them - we fully intend to return!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this very attractive, friendly and comfortable house. To get away to a different world this is the place to go, the peace and quiet is wonderful and the scenery everywhere is so beautiful, we can't wait for our next visit.

We visited this property in april found it to be absolutely beautiful. It's in a great location with very good views and lovely scenic walks nearby. The house is spacious, tastefully furnished and very comfortable. Despite its size, it is warm and cosy and there are lovely fluffy towels in the bathrooms.
The beds are really comfortable and the kitchen is large and well equipped.
Booking was easy and the friendly housekeeper called to check everything was OK.
We found a number very good pubs and restaurants on the island.
