Description from the owner

The Tree Cottage is a three-walled wooden structure just up the hill from the Indigo art gallery. One side is entirely open to the view across the valley and the ocean. The shower and toilet are outside and a short walk from the cottage. There is a small kitchen, one double bed and a sofa that can be made up as a single bed. The cottage is equipped with a double hammock and a mosquito net (although you'll hardly meet one )and internet wifi. Indigo is not a standard hotel accommodation, but for many people, staying at Indigo is a rustic, natural and beautiful experience. There will be tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter and home-made jam in the ...Read more

I am a yoga teacher so close your eyes and visualize this ...
Lying in bed at night gazing out over a moonlit tropical valley with the whole one side of the cottage open to provide incredible nature views. Waking up close to sunrise to the symphony of birds' songs and a steaming hot Spiced Dominican Coffee blended in the Indigo kitchen. A cup of herbal tea from plants grown on property while relaxing with a book in the hammock. Dramatically colorful paintings in every room hanging on wooden plank or shingle walls. Gardens of exotic flowers and fruits trees everywhere you turn. You are visualizing a getaway in Indigo Tree Cottage!

    just Fantastic!!!

Left on 01/13/2011 for a stay in November 2010

Left on 01/05/2011 for a stay in December 2010

I hated to leave. Close to nature surrounded by art. Heaven.

Left on 11/11/2010 for a stay in March 2009

I believe I still hold the record for the longest stay in the tree cottage. I was there just short of a month.
One magnificent hummingbird visited me almost everyday and always checked himself out in my mirror. There is no way to explain the feeling you get sleeping in an antique iron bed that seems to be floating in the rainforest. It's a surreal dream. I am not young and not as agile as I was once but I did not find the cottage difficult. I felt like I had completely escaped from the everyday---and still had internet access to reconnect when I needed to.I loved every minute.

    Paradise

Left on 11/09/2010 for a stay in October 2010

Indigo is simply paradise. From your initial walk up, you are surrounded by all that Dominica has to offer. I cannot imagine a more beautiful and welcoming place in the world. Of course, Indigo is not for everyone. If you are the type of person who goes on vacation to sit in the air conditioned room with the tv on or to float in the pool with waitresses bringing you the same drinks you get at home, then this is definitely not for you. Indigo is rustic - think of the garden of Eden with an outhouse, a bed and a heavenly being for your chef. Clem constructed everything here by hand and it is amazing architectural work. The views are spectacular and there is nothing like being woken up by the hummingbird drinking from the torch flower by your bed. If you are lucky enough to travel to Dominica, be sure that you spend several nights at Indigo - you will not regret it.
