Edgewater, FloridaFantastic Location, Immaculately Clean, Gorgeous Views
Left on 01/09/2013 for a stay in October 2012
I stayed at this apartment for 6 weeks - October 11 - November 23, 2012. I spent months researching apartments and this apartment turned out to be absolutely perfect. The apartment is spacious, comfortable, very clean and has everything you'll need for your stay. The Wi-Fi is excellent, all amenities are newer and work perfectly.
Marika, the apt. manager is amazing and speaks excellent English. She was dependable, returned phone calls and emails promptly and was always available to answer questions and assist with booking restaurants or excursions.
The neighbors, Mirella & Catello are wonderful, warm people who will make you feel at home upon first meeting. Unless you've been to Positano before, there's no way you would know just how perfect the location of this apartment is.
Don't let reviews about the steps worry you...they are not that bad at all and by Positano standards (the entire town is built into the mountain), the steps are very minimal. This location is absolutely perfect--just steps away--for the grocery, post office, ATM, butcher and fish shop, restaurants and the famous Bar Internacionale where locals meet for coffee.
Once you get a feel for Positano, you'll be thrilled that the local bus stop is only steps away, as well as the bus that takes you to amalfi, Sorrento, Ravello and all the other small, quaint fishing villages along the amalfi Coastline.
There is an outdoor terrace available, but I never used it. The verandah has large, picture windows that slide open, making it better than a terrace, especially when it rains. The view is incredible--to the left is the small town of Praiano in the distance, to the right is a view of little villas built right into the mountain and straight ahead is a completely open view of the beautiful sea. The apartment is in a wonderful locals area of Positano and offers the opportunity to really experience the real culture of Positano.
This apartment has everything you could possibly ask for--great, accessible manager to answer questions, perfect location, spotlessly clean with every modern convenience you could ask for, great Wi-Fi signal, wonderful neighbors and an incredibly great price. You won't find a better value for your money. I was there for 6 weeks and my husband and I hope to return this year to this apartment. -

We stayed in Positano this October and were very happy with our apartment. Location was perfect, close to the bus stop taking us to different cities and to the center of Positano. Apartment was very clean and comfortable for 2 persons. The hostess was very helpful and arranged for our delivery to Positano from Naples airport. Also gave us a lot of very helpful information about places to visit. Overall, I would recommend this apartment to travelers.

It's a well-equipped, very clean apartment with a great view and a lovely owner. We enjoyed staying there very much.
Two things to citisize: There is a dog just in front of the apartment whose barking gets really annoying especially early in morning! The internet was very slow and unstable which would be fine if you don't pay an additional 3 euro per day!
Nevertheless I highly recommend staying there if you visit Positano!!!Response from Marika - 11/12/2012
Owner
Hello,
First I want to thank you for your review and for staying with us at the Villa Mirella apartment.
Our wi fi router is located in the front room so this is where the signal is strongest. Because the apartment is located in an historic building and the walls are quite thick this affects the signal. I usually always advise guests that kitchen signal is strongest.
Regarding the dog, I need to explain that unfortunately all houses in Positano are one next to each other, but I’m sure that if the veranda windows are closed properly and the bedroom door as well, it is very quiet.
As you said this apartment is a very good value and we look forward to having you back again.

Great apartment located at the top of Positano, gorgeous view of the sea and the hillside village, just 5 mins away from the bus stop which takes you down to the beach and the ferries (less than 10 mins by bus), or other places close to Positano. Quite a few steps from the street but everywhere is like that in Positano. We found the apartment spotlessly clean, nicely refurbished, spacious and has all amenities one might require during their stay, including 2 tv's (in the bedroom and the kitchen), airconditioning, washing machine, guide books, etc. Very good value for money compared to other apartments in the vicinity that i enquired about.
Marika, our host, was extremely welcoming and helpful, and provided all the information to get out and about during our stay. She was also so kind as to reserve the apartment for a few days until i confirmed the booking due to having problems with transfer from airport on arrival. Wish we could have stayed more! -

Left on 08/17/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We enjoyed 4 nights in Villa Mirella and loved the location, the view, and the kind hospitality of Marika and her in-laws (who live in the building). The special treat was that Marika greeted us at the bus stop and oriented us to the activities in and around Positano, as well as the restaurants "on the hill." The apartment is quiet and overlooks the fabulous view you see in the photo. It has everything you need to stay comfortably, including an air con in the bedroom and huge windows that open to the cooler morning air. We would definitely recommend this apartment to friends, altho you do need to be physically fit and have portable luggage to navigate all the stairs in and around Positano!

Denne leiligheten i Positano anbefales på det sterkeste! Ingenting å utsette på leiligheten. Fantastisk utsikt! Marika gjorde alt for å at oppholdet skulle bli perfekt. Veldig serviceinnstilt og hyggelig. Vin stod klart i kjøleskapet til oss ved ankomst "on the house". Og plommer fra hagen ble levert på døren. For ikke å snakke om all praktisk informasjon og tips hun gav oss. Vi kommer tilbake:)

We stayed here for five nights end june/beginning july 2012 and loved it. The apartment had everything we could need, was spacious with fabulous views.
We also liked the location- within easy reach of the main town of Positano and practically next door to two good local restaurants, food shops and a great bar/coffee shop.
Marika and her family were very kind and welcoming and gave us lots of ideas and advice.
We will definately be staying there again!

Left on 10/22/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We stayed here for 12 days and had a lovely time. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very spacious with a well equipped kitchen and the bedroom had very good air conditioning which coped well during the mini heat wave we had. Marika met us from the bus on our arrival and provided us with lots of helpful information. The apartment is at the top of Positano with a beautiful view over the bay. There are steep steps down to the town and beach but there is a regular local bus service. The bus stop for the local bus and Sita bus is very close by. There are also several good restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment.

We've stayed at Villa Mirella for 9 days and it was absolutely wonderful. Apartment and a little garden have fantastic views of Positano and the sea. Marika was extremely helpful - she gave us bunch of maps, recommended nice local restaurants (not pricy but with great food), suggested local day trips and helped us book excursions and reserve restaurants. We communicated pretty much daily and she was always there to answer our questions and make suggestions. We fell in love with the town ( beware it does have a lots of stairs :)). Beach was really nice and we spend several days there, just enjoying the sun. Tips:
* try to visit Ravello and Capri - both are wonderful for a day trip and definitely worth a visit.
* we found that beach restaurants were not as great as the local ones recommended by Marika: you pay more for a view than for food
* try mussels at a local restaurant, it is really great.
* eat dinner at La Tagliata -

My husband and I and our two young girls have just spent 4 nights in the beautiful Villa Mirella. Villa Mirella is located towards the top of Positano, just off the main road, in a quiet spot. From the apartment there is a gorgeous view of the hillside village, the boats and the sea. The apartment is within a 5 min walk of the bus stop (catch the bus to the beach and tourist shops or alternatively walk down the 600 odd steps), fruit stall, convenience store, bar and local frequented restaurants.
The apartment was clean, attractive and had thoughtful features throughout. English magazines and brochures, a well appointed kitchen, spotless shower room, and pretty touches in every room. The air conditioner and washing machine, were particularly useful in the hot august weather.
Marika, the landlady, made us feel at home immediately. She met us on the road, arranged parking for our car, provided comprehensive info on excursions, recommended authentic reasonably priced restaurants, gave us a map of the town and more than enough info for us to hit the ground running. Thank you Marika for your warm welcome.
Marika and the villa come highly recommended. We have never written a review of holiday accommodation before, but this stay deserves mention. -

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Villa Mirella. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and spotless. It was very nicely decorated and fully equipped wth kitchen appliances and utensils, including plenty of crockery and cutlery, a microwave and washing machine.
The bathroom was bright and airy, with a lovely, powerful shower. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. There were also two flat-screen T.V.s in the apartment.
Marika and her family, especially Mirella were very welcoming and friendly. On my arrival, I was given fresh fruit, tomatoes and basil. Mirella showed me how to make a typical Italian dish, using tomatoes, basil, olive oil and salt. She also showed me how to make proper neapolitian cafe espresso. Although I had been to Positano before,Marika gave lots of information about the area and what to do.
Although there were a lot of steps down to the beach, it only took about 15 minutes to get down.It took a bit longer to get back up, but was good exercise! There is also a regular bus service which is very close by, so everything is easily accessible. There is aso a grocery store near by, as well as a fruit and veg shop, a restaurant and bar.
I would highly recommend Villa Mirella as a place to stay in Positano. It is very good value for the area and very homely.I hope to stay there again on my next visit to Positano. -

The apartment is absolutely gorgeous! It has stunning views and is in a quiet block. The apartment has been recently renovated and has modern furnishings as well as all the facilities you could ask for including a wash machine, air conditioning, two plasma Tv's, a safe & a the most important thing... a great shower!
Marika who manages the apartment is incredibly helpful and very responsive. She provided us with fantastic local restaurant recommendations, information about the area and was always available via text or email for whatever we needed, including making restaurant reservations.
We stayed at Villa Mirella for 2 weeks and we can't wait to go back! -

I recently stayed at Villa Mirella! The apartment was clean, spacious and had amazing views. The apartment is about 15 minutes from the beach. Keep in mind if you take the stairs it is 600 stairs down and then 600 stairs back up. The apartment is also located near a great fruit stand, market, bar/cafe and bus stop. My friend and I stopped by all three places each day. Since the apartment was located near the bus stop it was easy to enter and leave Positano. When we arrived, the landlord Marika provided great information about the town and the surrounding areas. She was able to provide restaurant recommendations and things to do while we were in town. The whole experience from booking to leaving was a easy and simple. Thanks Marika! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

We had the pleasure of spending 7 wonderful nights at Villa Mirella and wish it was longer! The apartment location was perfect- convenient to non-touristy, fantastic restaurants and walking (although a hike!) down to the more tourist- but beautiful beach. Marika - our host/landlord for the week - was super helpful with everything! Helping us with day trips and gave us the scoop on where to eat. The apartment itself was perfect! Cute little kitchen, gorgeous panoramic coastal views from the rooms and nice modern appliances (laundry!). We were traveling with our 7 month year old and the apartment was very kid-friendly too. :)
We had the best time there!! Hoping to go back sometime soon!!! -

Left on 06/29/2011 for a stay in June 2011
My mom and I had a great stay at Villa Mirella and felt like royalty in our apartment, while not paying nearly the price the latter might.
Villa Mirella is well situated (at the main entrance into town from Sorrento's side; close to shops, restaurants), modern and clean, and felt like home.
Marika gave great advise on places to visit, restaurants and transport.
And above all, a great, and unending view!
Our accommodation was major contributing factor to the pleasure our holiday brought us.
Will gladly recommend and go there ourselves again if ever possible again. -

Left on 05/02/2011 for a stay in April 2011
The apartment is located only a few steps down from the main road, and just a 1 min walk around the corner from the local Positano bus stop and the longer-distance Sita bus stop, so this makes it fantastic for going to Sorrento & Amalfi by bus, and from Sorrento you can get everywhere else. It takes about 55 mins by bus into Sorrento. There is no traffic noise at the apartment. There are also several food shops including a small supermarket very nearby, so you can make your own breakfast & dinner at the apartment & save a lot of money compared to eating in the expensive restaurants every day. Marika, the lady who manages the apartment is very helpful and met us from our taxi from the airport. She gave us local bus timetables & lots of info on trips we could take.
The apartment was immaculately clean and has everything you need – the kitchen is fully equipped with post & pans etc. The bed is comfy, and there is a heating and air conditioning unit in the bedroom. The remote control is behind the door curtain!
There is a lovely view from the corridor big windows, which can be opened up all the way, and there is a little fold-up table you can put up to eat your breakfast looking out at the view! Marika also said we could use the terrace of the building which is down below, but as it was not that fantastic weather, we didn’t eat outside.
The apartment is very good value for money – much better than a hotel and gives you the option to cook yourself which saves you more money.
The apartment also now has wifi internet – so bring your laptop. There are TV’s in the kitchen & bedroom, and you can change the language on the Italia 1 channel to English for most films, using the remotes.
Overall – a lovely apartment, very well located, good value for money and very helpful manager. -

The apartment was great value and Marika was fantastically helpful. The apt was exceptionally clean and was very close to the Sita bus stop and the local internal Positano bus stop. The stairs up and down to the apt were OK for us but might be difficult for older people and we were a little disappointed the 'terrace' as advertised was in fact the internal corridor with big windows but we were offered the use of the family patio down below. Overall, excellent value.

We stayed at Villa Mirella for 4 nights and loved the apartment. Beautiful bay windows look out on Positano and the water. The apartment was very clean and modern, with everything we needed for our stay.
It's up at the top of the hill, which makes it a long walk up and down to the center of Positano, but we knew this before staying. The trade-off of the walk is a really nice view. There's a bus that runs occasionally up and down, although make sure to check the last bus time or you'll have to walk the half hour walk straight up the hill.
Marika was very helpful when we arrived, giving us maps and suggestions. The apartment is basically part of the owner's house, so we saw them from time to time sitting in their tv room.
The apartment is very close to the bus stop for the bus to/from Sorrento, which was very convenient. -

We stayed here recently for 7 nights and had a
wonderful time.
The location is amazing offering stunning views of
the Amalfi coastline, the apartment is simple, very
nice and clean with all comforts in one of the
typical building of Positano. In 2 minutes you are
on the main road where you have all shops and the
main bus stop. Perfect if you travel by bus! A nice
10 minutes walk and you can get down to the
shopping area.
The lady on arrival has been so friendly and
helpfull, she came to meet us directly at the bus
stop, and she gave us all information on what to do
and what to see exactly like a concierge, she
speaks a good english. They make you feel so
welcome.
We had a great time there. VERY RECOMMENDED!
