miamiVilla Cleopatra and the owners far exceeded our families expecta
Left on 10/14/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Our family trip started out rocky due to flight delays and our group of 7 arrived 9 hours later than anticipated. From the moment we arrived in Naples the owner made every effort to ensure we would be taken care of in regards to transportation, restaurant suggestions and general questions. The Villa was spectacular and even more beautiful than the photos posted on the website. Every room was immaculate and each room had a full bath ensuring privacy. The Villa is a 15 minute breathtaking walk to the town center which allowed us our space from the hustle and bustle of annoying tourists. The bus stop is also conveniently located right outside the Villa. Most importantly, the owners took great care of us and always made sure we were fine. Thanks again to a wonderful experience and you must check this place out!!!

56003Beautiful villa but too much trouble ...
Left on 11/01/2011 for a stay in October 2011
I recently stayed at this villa with a group of friends. We absolutely loved the villa and the location. It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to Positano shops and restaurants. We used local drivers to visit some of the neighboring towns along the amalfi Coast. All are beautiful and definitely worth a visit.
The villa appears to be well maintained with most things in good working order. The bedrooms all have great views and are comfortable and quiet. The living and dining area is adequate for 10 guests but we did find the kitchen a bit small at times.
We had a few minor problems at the villa and getting them resolved was difficult. The first day we had no hot water and the internet was not working. Fortunately, both were fixed by the next day.
There is a single cup cappucino maker which is not sufficient for a group of 10 people. A carafe of coffee was brought in each morning by the housekeeper but that was also insufficient for 10 people. So, be prepared for instant coffee if you have a large group. Before we arrived, we were told to bring coffee filters for an american coffee maker but there is no american coffee maker in the villa.
The biggest problem we had was getting clean towels. There was a miscommunication with the housekeeper about the towels and we never received clean towels even though they were supposed to be changed mid-week. After the day we expected clean towels, we asked for them every day and were told they would be replaced but they weren't.
I rented a villa in Tuscany from a different company for the week prior to my Positano trip. I found the management company much more professional and friendly. The Positano area of Italy is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. However, next time I will rent from a different agency.Response from Summer In Italy - 01/01/2012
Manager
We are very sorry to hear -- for the first time now! -- about the small issues you encountered at the villa. Just to clarify for prospective guests: our company, Summer In Italy, was never notified of any of the glitches reported.
The villa is managed by the owners directly, and if only we had been aware of the issues we would have made sure that they be resolved to your satisfaction. That is, indeed, our job, and we are pretty good at it, if I may say so myself.
Guests booking with Summer In Italy are given a special local phone number where our team answers calls 24 hour a day / 7 days a week. For villas where wi-fi is available, asking for help is as easy as dropping us an e-mail. Our dedicated team takes immediate action and follows up as needed. My greatest regret is that you had to cope with those minor nuisances, while it would have been a snap for us to sort them out.
Incidentally, I'd like to share a word of warning with guests who are considering Villa Cleopatra. The "single-cup" coffee-maker produces the equivalent of 10 espresso -- that amount of caffeine might keep you spinning for two days! Definitely do not drink more than one small serving of espresso at a time, left alone preparing it multiple times to fill everybody's mug! -

chicagoWe all agreed that we would stay here again without a doubt!
Left on 10/31/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We rented Villa Cleopatra through www.summerinitaly.com.
Summer in Italy was extremely professional and helpful securing the villa from it's owners. Communication was always timely and filled with all the information we needed. Every detail was looked after and we felt very secure with our first ever villa rental.
The villa itself was spectacular...crisp, white walls and beautifully tiled floors and baths. A very prominent family in Positano owns this home and it is extremely well cared for. It has five gorgeous bedrooms with full baths and spectacular views. Our party of nine felt very comfortable sharing this home as there was tons of privacy and plenty of community space to share as well. The garden and lounge chairs was a bonus as the weather was outstanding. The villa is kept spotless with daily housekeeping. You can also arrange a chef to come in to cook for you as it is wonderful relaxing at the villa after a long day of touring or the path of the Gods!
The villa currently has a concierge that can set up details upon your arrival and help you stock the place if necessary. It was a great touch to know you could call someone to help. Christine was very knowledgable and professional.
The location of the villa was amazing as well. It is situated above arienzo beach, 250 steps above! The beach restaurant is great and the boat taxi there made getting into Positano very easy. Also, walking in to town took only about 15 minutes.
We all agreed we would stay here again so we be so fortunate! -

The owners of the property were amazingly helpful. When we arrived, they were there to greet us, check us in, and answer any questions we had. Cleaning service daily was fantastic. The pool and garden areas were absolutely gorgeous, with a short walk down to the beach and into town. Just awesome. Stay here, you won't regret it.
