Villa Ermelinda is a splendid and luminous two-story villa situated in a quiet location, a few minutes from the town center. It sleeps eight people. From Villa Ermelinda you will enjoy an enchanting view of the sea, of Positano and of the Amalfi Coast . Villa Ermelinda is 250 square meters (2690 square feet). It features a shared swimming pool, direct access to the beach and to the sea, nice private terraces with a view of the sea, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms it is available) and WI-FI Internet access.
You will be approximately 500 meters (550 yards) from Positano, roughly 200 meters (660 feet...) from the shops and the stop for the SITA bus Amalfi - Sorrento line. You will find the closest restaurant at 50 meters (165 feet), the stop for Flavio Gioia bus Positano - Montepertuso - Nocelle line a few meters (feet) away and the beach at 150 meters (approximately 490 feet) including 415 stairway steps. You will reach Villa Ermelinda from the street level going up three flights of stairs (approximately 130 steps).
You will not need a car to stay at Villa Ermelinda. If you do have one, you will be able to park it at approximately 50 meters (165 feet), in a reserved parking space.
As guests of Villa Ermelinda you will be able to use the pool and the beach of a nearby hotel. To reach the hotel from the villa, you will need to go down to the road below the villa (approximately 130 stairway steps), then cross the road and walk for 50 meters/yards to the front gate. Once inside, to reach the shared pool you will follow a short walkway and walk down about 110 stairway steps. From the pool area you can walk to the beach along a footpath which includes about 175 stairway steps.
Pets are welcome, but they are not allowed in the pool area and at the beach.
A luggage service via cable car is available, to lift your luggage from the street to the villa (and back down).
From Villa Ermelinda you will have a direct access to the sea and to a beach, partly gravel and partly rocky which offers and a cafe open during daylight hours. You will reach it from the villa going down approximately 415 stairway steps. The area is equipped with sun umbrellas and deck chairs. The access to the sea is shared with guests staying at a nearby hotel.
You will reach the swimming pool from Villa Ermelinda going down approximately 240 stairway steps. The pool is 3 meters (10 feet) large by 18 meters (59 feet) long, from 1.90 meter (6.2 feet) to 2.1 meters (6.9 feet) deep. It has a whirlpool corner and is filled with sea water. The swimming pool area is equipped with tables, chairs, sun umbrellas and deck chairs. From the swimming pool you will enjoy a charming view of the sea, of Positano and of the Amalfi Coast. You will share the pool with guests staying at a nearby hotel. It is open from the beginning of June until mid-October.
The first terrace is 40 square meters (430 square feet) large. You will be able to enter it from the first living room. It is shaded by a porch. It is equipped with a table, chairs and an external shower. From the terrace you will enjoy an enchanting view of the sea, of Positano and of the Amalfi Coast.
The furnishings of the living room are warm and welcoming. They include a long L-shaped sofa. There is a marvellous fireplace made of stone. The dining table can accommodate four guests. In this room you will find a CD player with FM radio. From the living room you will be able to enter the first terrace with a view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi through a French door.
The kitchen is equipped with a cooker with four gas burners and one electric burner, an electric oven, a refrigerator with freezer, a dishwasher, an Italian-style coffee-maker and an American-style coffee-maker (bring your filters!). There is a table to seat four guests. From the kitchen a French door will take you to the first terrace with a view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi. The room has a high window.
You will be able to enter the first bedroom from the living room. The furnishings are bright and cheerful. The room has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/62 inches, wider than a queen-size bed) and a twin bed (80 cm/32 inches). From the bedroom you will be able to enter the first terrace with a view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi through a French door. The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, spacious and equipped with a washbasin, a toilet and a bathtub with fixed shower head.
The half-bath is equipped with a washbasin and a toilet.
The second terrace is 20 square meters (215 square feet) large. You will be able to enter it from the second living room. It is partly shaded by olive trees. It is equipped with a table and two deck chairs. From the terrace you will enjoy a splendid view of the sea, of Positano and of the Amalfi Coast.
The furnishings of the second living room include a long sofa. In this room you will find a television. From the living room you will be able to enter the second terrace with a view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi through two French doors.
You will be able to enter the second bedroom from the living room. The furnishings are warm and welcoming. The room has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/62 inches, wider than a queen-size bed) and a twin bed (80 cm/32 inches). From the bedroom you will be able to enter the second terrace with a view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi through a French door. The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, spacious and equipped with a washbasin, a toilet and a bathtub with fixed shower head.
You will be able to enter the third bedroom from the main entrance hall along an external stairway. The furnishings are modern and welcoming. It has two twin beds (80 cm/32 inches), that can be pushed together into a matrimonial bed if requested. From the bedroom you will be able to enter the second terrace with a view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi through a French door. The room has a window with a view of the sea and of the coastline. The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit. This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, equipped with a washbasin, a toilet and a shower.
You will be able to reach the laundry room from the terrace. Here you will find a washing machine (hidden in a cabinet) at your disposal.
The third terrace is on the roof level. It is 50 square meters (540 square feet) large. It is equipped with a table, deck chairs and a sun lounger. From the terrace you will enjoy a broad view of the sea, of Positano and of the Amalfi Coast.

Johann W Goeth in 1787 wrote about the amalfi coast "When inhabitants here go to heaven, it will be a day like any other day', he might very well have been sitting on the veranda of Villa Ermelinda when he wrote this. Every morning waking up to the amazing views outside the bedroom window, breakfasting on the deck looking out over the olives and lemons to the turquoise Tyrrhenian Sea, inhaling the fresh clear air, every day was just a little more perfect than the rest. The villa was a delight, comfortable and perfectly situated for day trips all around the amalfi Coast. The hosts were lovely and the bowl of fresh home grown figs in the fridge on arrival were wonderful. A short walk to the Sita bus stop, well stocked delicatessen, and most importantly our second home from home the Li Galli bar where we came to feel like locals, made life idyllic and carefree and we've come away from our time in Positano dreaming of nothing but the day we can return to Villa Ermelinda again.
