I'll start this out with the only bad comment I'll make. There are a lot of stairs up to this place! A lot! I would not take my elderly grandmother here unless she's really spry!
Having said that- I cannot imagine a better way to experience Prague. This apartment is steps away from the clock in the square! It is convenient to everything in the downtown area and is nicely decorated with up-to-date baths and furnishings. There is also a washer and dryer in the apartment- a big convenience! Five of us (two couples and one loner) stayed here quite comfortably and without getting on eachothers' neves.
Dana was wonderful to deal with. We made all arrangements online and paid through Paypal (I wish more people used that!)
Radek met us at the apartment on our arrival and provided flawless directions to a cheap lot to stash our rental car. (If you havent driven in old European cities, buckle up and hang on! Driving in Prague is not for the faint of heart). -

What a lovely flat. As promised, it is located just steps from the Old town square, which can be loud and bustling at night - but you'd never know it in the quiet of the flat. The flat is comfortable, stylish, and well appointed. A great value and great experience, with very friendly staff! Pack light, because it is up several flights of stairs!

Best location virtually on Old Town Square. Walking distance to most attractions. The apartment and furnishings appear to be brand new. Very comfortable beds in the two bedrooms and a nice pullout couch for our kids. Again, I can't think of a better location if you want to be in the center of all the historical sights, theaters, bars and restaurants. On the third floor so recommended for healthy travelers only.

My family and I stayed here for the Labor Day Weekend. We had an amazing time and would recommend the apartment without reservation. Be aware that you are within just a few meters of the square so late night parties are the norm. That said, we loved every minute of our stay here and will be back again very soon. The owner and property manager were prompt, professional and simply a pleasure to work with during our rental process. If you want to see Prague from a great location, this is the apartment for you!
Response from Dana - 09/06/2012
Owner
Thank you for your taking the time to review our apartment. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay so much that you are already planning to come back. To your note about the proximity to the Old Town Square, yes, it is literally just around the corner and during festivals, there could be a late night activity on the square. We are fortunate, that the apartment has windows in the opposite direction to a quiet courtyard and a small dead end street, so it still remains quiet as mentioned in some earlier reviews. We are looking forward to your next visit soon!

Left on 09/03/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Having stayed in many vacation rental properties all over Europe I must say that this one definitely rates in the top 5 percent.
You simply cannot ask for a better location in Prague. Literally just steps away from the Old Town Square. When you step out of the front door you have an unobstructed view of the top of the Clock Tower. So you get to see and hear the trumpeter every hour. But you are not right on the square so there are no noise issues.
To get there by car is a little tricky. You call the representative in advance and arrange to meet at the apartment based on directions that the owner has supplied. Once there you can park for a short while and you only have about 20 metres to get to the stairway. Then the representative will personally guide you to underground parking - where you leave the car for your entire stay. -

Previous reviews say it all, but I still wanted to add my two cents ... My grandmother traveled with us, and let me tell you a little bit about her ... She is not just picky, she made Ritz-Carlton cry when we stayed there ... This time around, staying at Melantrichova 20, she didn't even mind the absence of the elevator - and she is 82 years old, mind you, and it is hard for her to get on the third floor without stopping every few minutes to take a break ... Overall, couldn't have been happier with our choice, it made a vacation to Prague a dream to remember ... Will be coming back :)

This apartment is simply excellent!
Review Submitted: August 7, 2012 Date of Stay: August 2012
This is a wonderful apartment: spacious, beautiful with an ideal location. You could not be closer to the main square and astronomical clock. Despite this once you are upstairs in the apartment it is not noisy. When staying at this apartment it is possible to explore the square, Charles Bridge etc. early in the morning when there are no people around...just make yourself some coffee and stumble downstairs.
The beds are very comfortable and all the equipment is modern and works perfectly. There are astonishing views of the towers and spires out the windows, particularly at night. Hundreds of places to eat within a few blocks including a fantastic ice cream parlor and Starbucks at the base of the staircase leading to the apartment. I can not imagine a better place to stay!!! -

This is a nice apartment, clean, well arranged for two couples with separate bathrooms in each wing of the unit (note that one bedroom is smaller than the other). It is extremely centrally located, a few steps away from the famous clock and main town square. We had a great time using it, though Prague was a bit hot (and virtually no apartments have a/C in Prague). The folks are great: very helpful, efficient and friendly!

The apartment and service were excellent. Great location and immaculate condition. Radek met us at the apartment and made our airport from/to arrangements. The information left in the apartment allowed us to experience Prague in a comfortable manner. We did not have to spend time figuring out the location of grocery stores, restaurants, attractions, etc. Totally happy with our decision.

Left on 06/03/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We were 3 sisters and a niece traveling to this beautiful City. We were very pleased with the location of the apartment right in the heart of the action.
The listing photos reflect exactly the apartment we rented. Very quiet, well equipped, we felt at home because it was noticeable that the owner lives in North america.
The information given to us by the owner of all commodities (restaurants, grocery store, market etc.) was very helpful.
We loved the location since it was within walking distance to many attraction and restaurants. We walked everywhere and did not need to use public transportation.
Dana the owner was helpful throughout all phases of the booking process. The car service from and to the airport is a Plus.
Martin was very nice to us and showed us the apartment.
I recommend this apartment to everyone. Every aspect of this rental earns 5 stars.

It does not get any better than this. I would highly reccomend this apartment to anyone needing the extra space. The handoff of the keys and inspection when we left couldn't have gone any better. The apartment was well stocked, and the washer and dryer helped a bunch on our three week long european holiday. We had your driver pick us up and the airport and drop us at the apartment couldn't have been easier. When it was time to leave we walked the 2 blocks to the subway that took us to the train station.

Left on 02/12/2012 for a stay in February 2012
Wow. I would like to praise this apartment from the bottom of my heart. This apartment is a real gem. We are always traveling with our kids, and, hence, residing in vacation rentals (apartments). We have been staying in many places, such as Canada, Greece, Italy and the USa, and there is no doubt that this apartment is one of the very bests.
The apartment location is absolutely perfect. Right - but right off the main square of Prague, with unique roof-top views from the windows. The apartment has large windows, which make it bright and sunny. We stayed for a week, during the coldest week ever (an average of -15° Celsius during the day) but the apartment was warm and cozy.
The apartment comprised of 2 large bedrooms with comfortable queen size beds, large living area (with sofa-bed) and a dining/kitchen area. The kitchen is fully equipped and we enjoyed cooking our warm meals in the apartment. The apartment also contains a washer and a drier. The wi-fi connection (which was very important to us) worked extremely well and was super reliable. It was also very nice to have Starbucks downstairs.
All and all, we enjoyed the apartment tremendously, and highly recommend it for families and anybody who would like to feel home away from home. -

Denver, COThe perfect "home base" for a vacation in Prague!
Left on 01/25/2012 for a stay in December 2011
We could not have picked a better location to stay during our first trip to Prague. Right in the heart of things and within walking distance of major sites (Prague is quite the walking town) as well as metro and tram stops, this apartment was a great home-away-from-home. Having a kitchen and a washer/dryer, as well as wifi, helped us keep our costs down over the course of our trip. The apartment was clean and well-furnished, and just different enough from home to feel like an adventure (but without giving up creature comforts). If you don't handle stairs well, I wouldn't recommend the climb to the 3rd story, but the view of the astronomical Clock from the landing was worth the schlep. The owner was very helpful and communicative, and payments and other arrangements were made smoothly. A wonderful experience, and worth the extra cost to be right in the heart of things!

Left on 01/02/2012 for a stay in December 2011
My husband, teenage daughter and I rented the apartment for 5 nights during which we visited the Christmas markets. The location of the apartment could not have been better for our needs but, centrally located in old town, it would be a perfect location any time of year. Location aside, the apartment was even better than we had expected; even nicer than the photos in the listing depict. The split bedroom layout was perfect as our daughter had her own 'bedroom suite' as did we. It would also be perfect for two couples traveling together. Very spacious, modern, clean, beautiful, comfortable, basically perfect. Tons of restaurants and shopping are steps away as is the Old Town Square. You even have a view of the astronomical clock from the apartment doorway. The owner always responded quickly to any of our emails/inquiries. Radek, who met us and checked us in, even made arrangements for us to be picked up from the train station when we arrived in Prague. If we travel again to Prague this is definitely where we would want to stay. Very highly recommended!! Thank you Dana and Radek!

We stayed in Prague at the beginning of December for the Christmas Markets. The apartment was located at the edge of the square where the markets were located, which was brilliant for us. The apartment itself was gorgeous, really modern and clean with everything you need. Radek arranged our pick up from the airport, would recommend this as the drive is quite long. The whole experience from start to finish was excellent and I would definitely stay here again.

Left on 11/22/2011 for a stay in November 2011
My family rented this wonderful apartment in early November and had a great time. The location frankly must be the best in Prague. It is just off the main square in old town and close to everything we wanted to see and do. The beds were comfortable, the amenities met our needs and check ion and check out was a piece of cake. Once piece of advice, pack lightly as the apartment is on the third floor and there are a lot of steps, but the climb is worth the effort. Hopefully we will return someday. Thanks for all your help Dana.

What a wonderful time we had in this lovely, spotlessly clean, spacious apartment in the centre of Prague! We have rented many apartments in Europe through Vrbo and we found this to be one of the nicest within our price range, for sure. The apartment has been completely modernized with beautiful finishing, attractive furnishings, and modern appliances. The location could not be better - you are literally steps from the centre of the old town. There are many very good restaurants within a 5-minute walk. The building is very secure. There were 5 of us in our group and I must say that the layout of the apartment, with a double set of doors between the bedrooms and the living room, provided additional privacy so the apartment really has three separate sleeping areas for larger groups. The owner has compiled a lot of useful information about shopping, restaurants, walks, and Prague in general. We were very appreciative for the assistance of Radek, the young man who met us at the apartment on arrival, for his tips and help with taxis to the airport upon departure. I highly recommend this apartment. Thank you, Dana!!

ChicagoGreat apartment in the middle of everything
Left on 09/26/2011 for a stay in August 2011
A colleague and I spent a week in Prague during august, attending a conference. The owner was very helpful in planning our trip, providing lots of local information. As requested, we were greeted at the airport, transported to the apartment, and met by an English-speaking host. The apartment is spacious, in great condition, and tastefully finished and furnished, exactly as described on the site. It is located 10-20m away from the Clock Tower square, yet isolated from the tourist crowds and the noise: it is on the third (top) floor and the windows are facing either the small back street or the inner courtyard. The high floor and the many windows allow for plenty of light; there aren't open views of the streets or the square, but the nearby buildings are of the same height and far enough away to let light in. Good internet connection even through the thick walls, good hot water supply, full kitchen utilities, lots of spare towels and linens, no security issues for the apartment or in this area of Prague. A 5 min walk to all the central tourist attractions, restaurants, concerts, subway stop. There are several small restaurants and bars right downstairs in the back street, with small bands playing in the evening. Starbucks lovers will enjoy having one right by the entrance of the building. Overall, we had a great stay, I would recommend this apartment to anyone, with or without kids. A little bit on the pricey side, but the location, condition, amenities, and amount of space justify it. Certainly a better deal than a hotel, especially if several people share the cost.

Vancouver, CanadaFantastic Place to Stay in Prague!
Left on 09/25/2011 for a stay in August 2011
My wife, toddler, and I stayed at this apartment this past august (2011). We were extremely happy with it. The location couldn't be better as it's right in the middle of everything: steps away from the Old Town Square and its astronomical Clock, a few minutes from Wenceslas Square, and walking distance from almost all the other main sights including the Charles Bridge and Prague Castle. The apartment itself exceeded our expectations: inside a historic building, it's been beautifully renovated, and fully furnished with pretty much everything you could need during your stay including dishwasher and laundry facilities, which made traveling with a young child so much easier. It was immaculately maintained, and the caretaker was full of information and very helpful. Unlike a hotel, it really felt like a home away from home. We would without question recommend this to place to anyone taking a trip to Prague.

We, and another couple, spent four delightful days in this gorgeous apartment. It was spacious, exceptionally well equipped, perfectly located, and just as advertised.
It's on the third floor of a walk-up (no elevators) and has airy peek-a-boo views of the churches and towers in the area. It's perhaps twenty steps from the famous Old Town Square, and within easy walk of Prague's excellent public transportation system. Cars are not needed in Prague (if you have one, you'll probably leave it in a public garage, as this is in the midst of an pedestrian-only zone).
Excellent restaurants, grocery stores, and everything you will need are within easy walking distance. Prague is famous for excellent classical music every night of the week - be sure to partake! English is spoken everywhere.
The owner will give you many tips on how to get around Prague, what to see, where to go, and what to do. We only wished that we had spenmt more time there - four days does not do Prague justice, and this apartment is such a gem that we hated to leave it.
A word of advice - be careful of your wallet in crowded places - one of our group lost some money to a pickpocket on the Charles Bridge. It oculd happen anywhere, but just be aware.
This apartment is among the very best that we have every stayed in - anywhere in the world. Thank you, Dana, for sharing your little piece of heaven! -

This flat is just as described. It's spotlessly clean, well appointed and the location couldn't be better (just steps from the astrological clock in the Old Town Square). The first night we were worried about noise from the crowded pedestrian street below but closed windows blocked it out completely. We arranged airport pick up (fantastic service for less than the cost of a taxi) and our check in was seamless. Honestly, no complaints about this flat...it was everything we wanted for a mom's "girl's weekend" in Prague.

Left on 06/08/2011 for a stay in May 2011
The location could not be better for a visit to Prague. However, the late night activity of that venue and the absence of air conditioning could make noise an issue, if the windows needed to be closed. Also the number of steps, seventy 70 gets to be a little much after several trips in a day. However, we could handle these issues and the weather was cool so the apartment was great for our three day stay.
Parking, while nearby, was expensive at $43/day and should prompt avoiding bring a car to town for a protracted period.
All in all we enjoyed our stay very much.

Owner
Thank you for your review, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. We are puzzled since you never mentioned anything from the above to us. On the contrary – in your email you wrote “there was no problem with the steps” and that Radek was helpful to carry your bags up and down. Unfortunately no elevators are permitted in Prague’s historical buildings, but our guests find it a small price to pay for the unique location that brings almost everything at your doorstep. Regarding the comment that noise COULD possibly be an issue (under certain circumstances), we are glad that you found that it was NOT an issue. It is consistent with previous reviews which mention that the apartment is quiet. While in the city center, there might be an occasional, but rare late night activity, however the apartment is on the top floor and windows are facing courtyard and a dead end street. Parking is always more expensive in the European cities than in the U.S., but there are more economical options that are further away from the apartment. It is unfortunate that you did not ask us, we did not know that the price of parking was an issue. In your email you mentioned “I will be sure to recommend your apartment to our friends” – we appreciate it. Thank you for staying with us and we wish you wonderful and safe future travels.

The owner's taste in decor is fantastic.--a large living room that makes into a double bed, 2 large bedrooms with comfortable beds and two large totally new bathrooms made it comfortable for us. Location can't be better as it is a few feet from the Old Town Clock Square with a Starbuck's downstairs and a gelato shop too! We really lucked out to score this apartment during a high season. We could oook meals with a microwave or heat left overs to save money on food. Cost us less than staying at a hotel or hostel. I am recommending this to my family and friends

Simply wonderful. The location could not have been better. The apartment was clean. The only suggestion I would make is to have separate top sheets. Most americans do not sleep under down blankets but always have a sheet to sleep on and a second one as a cover.

Thank you very much for your review, we are very happy that you enjoyed your stay, the apartment and the location. Regarding using top sheet rather than a duvet with a cover - it is unfortunate, that you did not look for the extra sheets that we have in the closet or you did not mention anything to Radek or myself. We would have let you know where the sheets are exactly, so you could have used one as a cover. We will make sure that we set up the bed for you as you like next time you come to Prague!

The logistics in obtaining the apartment were flawless (everything completed by email and PayPal) and we were even given a ride to the airport upon our departure! If you are vacationing in Prague, you should definitely consider this rental...Thanks again!

LondonBeautiful apartment in a great location

We had a lovely time in Prague and the apartment was really beautiful which added to our weekend. The apartment was exactly like the pictures and its location is truly exceptional for wandering around the Old Town square. Radek (and the organised taxi driver) was punctual and friendly on arrival and departure. Would highly recommend this place to friends and family.

AustraliaBest apartment to stay at in Prague!
Left on 04/26/2011 for a stay in June 2010
Our family stay in Prague was made so much more enjoyable due to the comfort and location of this well appointed 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment is large, modern, bright, spotlessly clean and well ventilated with all the comforts one would expect from their own home. It is in a fantastic locaion and just a short easy stroll to all the main attractions in Prague. You will find that you are just a few steps from great cafes, restaurants and the beautiful Old Town Hall astronomical clock. Dana was most professional and efficient when handling our booking and payments which gave me great peace of mind. This is a most important factor when booking accommodation on line! Thank you Dana!
