Description from the manager
Apartment Rosa is a modern studio apartment found in the oldest part of Prague. The name “Rosa” which also means “flower” suits the apartment very well, since it is our most preferred and well-situated place to stay in. This first- floor apartment is located in Jilska Street in the labyrinth of the Old Town, which is only 2 minutes away from the Old Town Square and is surrounded by most of Prague’s best tourist attractions. Its mysterious setting and romantic atmosphere create an ideal place for couples as well as families who want a great historical experience without having to travel anywhere. The apartment is large enough for 2 t...Read more

PRICES DISPLAYED ON THIS WEBSITE ARE ONLY INDICATIVE. Just like those of low-cost airlines, our prices vary based on demand and on dates, so for example NY is at least three times more expensive, and low season (e.g., November can be 30 to 50% cheaper). Please contact us or make a reservation request to get an exact price proposal. We charge an extra for very short stays: +100% for just one night, +50% for just 2 nights. If your stay fits well in our grid, our team can decide not to charge that extra.

Waterloo, CanadaLive the charm of old-town Prague
Left on 07/15/2012 for a stay in June 2012
If you want to live the experience and charm of old-town Prague, then this is the apartment for you. Only a couple of minutes from Old Town Square, most of what you want to see and experience is but a short walk away. For visits a little further afield, do take the tram or subway, all a sort walk five-minute from the apartment.
Out total stay was for two and a half weeks. Our booking was quite simple and Rentego mailed us the key to Canada well before our stay started. Please do let them know the time of your arrival for access to the apartment itself is by code pad and will only be valid after the time you state you will arrive.
The apartment itself is as shown in the photos. It was equipped as advertised. The company left quite a bit of information in the apartment in five different languages about what should be there and who to contact in case of problems. There is also information about local attractions and transportation.
We were able to get groceries ant the local supermarket (Tesco) in the basement of a large department store. The prices are quite reasonable and we kept the apartment refrigerator stocked with enough necessities for a few days at a time. Do learn some Czech though for groceries. There is fresh milk there, but also a large variety of sour, bitter and buttermilk. Get to know what you are buying.
Tv is by satellite pointed to a British satellite. Anglophones will be quite happy at the large selection of available programming. There is no telephone so do bring an unlocked cellphone and buy a sim chip locally for local calls. This method is quite cheap compared to North american pricing. The Wi-Fi did not function while we were there. As best as I could tell, the router was defective. We connected to the internet by LaN cable hooked in to the router. There is WiFi radiating from the cafe downstairs but the signal is weak and connection speeds are slow.
North americans, please note, bedding comes with pillowcases and a bottom sheet only. We used the bottom sheet intended for the spare bed as a top sheet for our bed in the loft. The bed on the loft is comfortable and they provide two individual comforters to top the bed. Watch your step as there is no railing for the stairs leading to the loft.
It took us a couple of nights to get used to the street noise. Old Town Prague is a maze of narrow streets paved with cobblestone and buildings abutting the streets. The sound of drunks going home at 2 or 3 am is loud and clear. This is the nature of old-town living and not a defect of the apartment itself. Just be warned that the noise will be there.
The kitchenette had pretty well all the dishware, glassware and cooking implements needed for making simple dishes. There is a microwave and cook top but no oven. We did not find a paring knife so we bought a cheap one and left it at the apartment.
We really appreciated the washer in the shower room. It will do small loads which is just fine for doing the laundry every couple of days or so. There is a portable laundry rack in the hall for hanging laundry and an iron in the hall cupboard.
The shower is well finished and the shower has a good flow. Watch water usage as the hot water tank is small and hot water recovery is quite slow. Keep showers short and there will be enough water for two or three people to take showers. The hair dryer is kept in the hall cupboard. If you noticed a strange odor coming from the shower, it may be the drain is dry. Run a little water and the odor should go away.
The toilet does not flush out directly, it is attached to a pump much like a toilet installation in a basement with the drain higher than the toilet. This makes flushing effectively a bit of an art.
The neighbors in the building are quite reserved but polite and will give a polite dobre-de back if you say hello. They are very quiet and you won't hear them save perhaps the fellow with the dog on the third that likes to bark all the way down the stairs on the way out.
We felt quite safe in the apartment and the neighborhood and did not hesitate to go out at any time.
Overall, this apartment made me a believer in the concept of staying in apartments rather than a hotel when visiting Prague. Total cost was relatively modest compared to the alternative of hotel living.Response from RENTeGO - 12/13/2012
