      great holiday!!

Left on 11/08/2012 for a stay in May 2012

we picked the apartment in praino as a base to visit the area and walk the path of the gods.we were not disapointed. we arrived to a friendly and warm welcome..no english but somehow managed..lady in the shop under the apartment pointed us in the right direction an in minutes we were settled in.we found living next door to the family non intrusive and always greeted with a smile and hello...and on one occasion donuts!!the apartment was clean and everything we needed..except perhaps a kettle.the veiws were fantastic from the balcony.the bus stop was only a few yards away to visit either positano or amalfi or beyond..one day we travelled to salerno as weather not tood good for about 4 euros. buses are cheap but very busy..can be survival of the fittest but we managed.
we walked the path of the gods as planned..breathtaking views and well signed and other shorter walks in the area.a vist to capri by small boat was well worth the 45 euros for a full day excursion direct from praino.
had several meals out in local restaurants..all enjoyable and not too expensive.
all in all had a great holiday..good value for money..used local transport to and from naples where we stayed 2 nights taking the hydrafoil to sorrento and then bus on the way out and bus and train on the way back.

What a Lovely Place To Stay

Left on 10/21/2012 for a stay in September 2012

My husband and I spent 6 nights at Casa Mafalda and loved every minute!! The apartment is centrally located with a grocery store right below, internet cafe just down the street, as well as several wonderful restaurants and other type stores. It is a very roomy apartment with washing machine which was invaluable to us as we had been traveling for awhile. The BBC is available which was also nice. To top off what is inside, the view of Positano and the sea, from your own patio, was such a lovely way to end each day after visiting all the other towns along the amalfi Coast. We loved the quiet of Praiano.

The Sita bus is a breeze to catch, as well as the red bus which runs between Praiano and Positano. Do not miss the adventure of taking either one!!! We did take a taxi from Praiano when leaving as I just didn't want to hassle luggage on a very crowded bus, but it is doable.

I cannot finish this review without giving a huge thank you to Summer In Italy, the company that manages Casa Mafalda. I do not remember how I found them, but am so happy that I did. There are not enough positive words to describe what a lovely company they are to do business with!!! Every part of the entire process is handled with speed, preciseness and above all, kindness. I would recommend Summer In Italy to anyone looking for vacation rentals in Italy and I look forward to doing business with Luca and his team in the future.

      Ideal holiday rental and location

Left on 12/15/2010 for a stay in May 2010

The owners were very welcoming and eager to help. Not much english was spoken but still managed very well. The villa was spacious, well equipped and beautifully clean. Praiano is a spectacular location and handy to the other amalfi towns. Good regular bus service. It has some good restaurants and the locals are very friendly. Love the pace of the town and friendliness, the bus rides can be quite an experience on those narrow roads. Beautiful place to stay.Thank you

Loved Casa Mafalda, Priano and her people!

Left on 12/03/2009 for a stay in April 2009

We spent a week at the end of April, 2009 at Praiano. What a wonderful town and people! We had a most enjoyable experience, the grocer is directly below Casa Mafalda, and what an amazing couple they are. The town is a vey quiet town and the people are very gracious and friendly. The apartment was as described, clean and comfortable and with great bus access. The veiw was fantastic from the little balcony. Our neighbors were so warm and friendly, we spoke only a bit of Italian, but we were truely welcomed and we have many fond memories. I could go on and on, let's just say that I will definely return, great location, and a very restful time. The only negative was, we didn't travel with a cell phone and phone service in Italy is sketchy at best, the pay phones in town did not work...with that being the only drawback, we'd return again without a doubt. Loved Casa Mafalda, and Priano and her people.

      MAGICAL!

Left on 06/18/2009 for a stay in May 2008

WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH CASA MAFALDA IN PRAIANO IT WAS CLEAN AND TIDY WHEN WE ARRIVED. THE OWNER GREETED US OFF THE BUS AND SHOWED US WHERE EVERYTHING WERE IN THE APARTMENT, WE WERE EVEN INTRODUCED TO THE FAMILY WHO LIVED NEXT DOOR WE WERE MADE TO FEEL REALLY WELCOME. THE SHOPS STOCKED EVERYTHING YOU NEEDED PLUS A BUTCHERS AND A FISHMONGERS WERE FIVE MINS AWAY. WE WENT ON SOME LOVELY WALKS. IF WE WERE TO GO AGAIN WE WOULD ONLY GO FOR TEN DAYS AND NOT TWO WEEKS AS TEN DAYS WOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH TO SEE EVERYTHING.
WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME IT WAS MAGICAL.

A splendid experience to share with our 12 year old son

Left on 06/17/2009 for a stay in March 2008

My husband and I were looking for an experience that was off-the-beaten-path for our 12 year old son's first European experience in his memory. We wanted to avoid big cities and tourist traps so that he could sense something of daily life. Praiano in the springtime was a lovely place to be, and we enjoyed waiting down to the beach through town to find stones and shells or climbing up into the hills. We could let our son have a little freedom to explore the small village or go downstairs in the little shop to puzzle out how to buy the grocery items we'd use to make our breakfast. The people in the small town were friendly and helpful, particularly to a child. Even though the landlady spoke little English, we had no trouble communicating our needs. The view from the little deck is absolutely superb, and the accommodations were very comfortable. We used the local busses for our daily excursions and took in Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento, Paestum (really worthwhile!) and all the other expected destinations. We enjoyed the Easter service in the local Catholic church. As car-dependent Americans, we debated long and hard about whether we should rent a car. We were really pleased to have decided not to rent one and found the vacation actually easier without the hassle of having to find our way around and figure out where we would park a car. The whole rental process was easy and affordable, and we would not hesitate to work with Summer in Italy again.

Bright, Clean home away from home

Left on 06/17/2009 for a stay in August 2007

We loved our stay at the Casa Mafalda. The apartment was comfortable and clean with everything we could want to feel like a local. The location was perfect, steps away from the bus stop and local markets and minutes from the beach with a beautiful view. We hope to visit again.
