Casa Marina is a welcoming studio apartment which faces the sun and the sea. It sleeps two people. From Casa Marina you will enjoy an enchanting view of the sea. Casa Marina is 40 square meters (430 square feet). It features a nice private terrace with a view of the sea, a shared garden, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed), winter heating and WI-FI Internet access.
You will be roughly 1 km (0.6 miles) from the center of Praiano , roughly 200 meters (660 feet) from restaurants and shops. You will find the stop for the local bus and the SITA bus a few meters (feet) away and the... closest beach at 450 meters (approximately 490 yards).
Casa Marina is located on the first floor. You will reach it from the street level going up a stairway which consists of approximately 30 steps. Because of the street below, some traffic noise can be heard.
You will not need a car to stay at Casa Marina. If you do have one, you will be able to park it at approximately 200 meters (220 yards), for a fee, in a private parking lot.
Casa Anna A, B and C and Casa Marina are four small apartments which are part of a typical building of the Amalfi Coast , with stunning sea views and access to a lemon garden. The building is in Praiano, a famous tourist spot of the Amalfi Coast, a few meters from the main road and a short distance from the Tower of Praiano and the famous pedestrian descent to the beach.
The structure has two floors and the apartments are located on the first floor. It is white and bright and is included in a picturesque environment of small houses built along the road and the rocky coast. In front of the house, across the street, there is only the coast which rapidly slopes down to the sea and is covered up to the sea by a magnificent scented lemon grove.
The building is attached to the rocky coast and, from the highest level, above the three apartments you can access a wonderful lemon garden, which is embedded into the rock, too.
The lemon garden is a very special place. Here you will experience one of the magic of the Amalfi Coast, a corner of paradise: a scented lemon grove within feet, eyes, hands; a grape arbor that shades a small family garden, a rustic terrace decorated with flowers, and always in front of you the spectacular landscape of the steep coast that plunges into the sea.
This lemon garden is personally cared by the owner, a nice lady who will be happy to accommodate you whenever you like in her little kingdom and also provide you with garden furniture, to stand under the grape arbor, an outdoor kitchen and outdoor shower.
The nearest beach is the charming Marina di Praia , located at the point where a small valley carved by erosion meets, among the high rocks, a sea of emerald color.
The beach is served, from spring to autumn, by buses that depart from Praiano every 20 minutes, stopping a few meters from the apartments.
To go to the sea do not miss the following wonderful walk: reach the beach walking along a 'scalinatella' (stairway), which leads to the Torre Saracena (Saracen Tower), and thence along a charming pedestrian descent, carved into the rock above the sea, which leads to the beach.
Spending your vacation here will allow you to enjoy an environment of unique natural beauty, but it will be also a great starting point to visit Pompeii , Paestum , Naples and the Royal Palace of Caserta .
You will be able to frequent the famous beaches of the Amalfi Coast, to go shopping for fashion and high quality craft products, to follow the many high level folkloric, artistic, cultural and musical events taking place throughout the whole year.
The terrace is equipped with a table, chairs, deck chairs and an external shower. From the terrace you will enjoy an enchanting view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi. You will share the terrace with the other guests staying at the complex.
The garden is partly shaded by a characteristic pergola with a bamboo roof. The garden is equipped with a sofa and two armchairs, as well as with a table and chairs. Here you will also find a portable barbecue. From the garden you will enjoy a gorgeous view of the sea. You will share the garden with the other guests staying at the complex.
The terrace is 30 square meters (320 square feet) large. It is partly shaded by a pergola with a bamboo roof. It is equipped with a table, chairs and a deck chair. From the terrace you will enjoy a splendid view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi.
The furnishings of the living room are simple and comfortable. Here you will find a matrimonial bed (160 cm/62 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). The furnishings include a long sofa. In the living room you will also find a cooking area. The kitchenette is equipped with a four-burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a refrigerator with freezer and an Italian-style coffee-maker. There is also a washing machine. In this room you will find a television. The room is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.
The bathroom is tiled with lucid handmade majolica tiles and equipped with a washbasin, a toilet and a fully enclosed shower. You will be able to enter the bathroom from the corridor.

We rented Casa Marina for a week's stay. The apartment's owner, Alfonso,
was incredibly nice and helpful. We are musicians, and Alfonso helped us
connect with local violin, cello and guitar makers: and unforgettable
The apartment was very clean and well kept, and private. The patio is
gorgeous: very large, with an expansive view of the sea. The best thing
about the apartment, well, we just can't choose between Alfonso and the
patio. We throughly enjoyed our time there.
The only negative thing was something in the area that just can't be helped:
the presence of millipedes. They would come out overnight, and so you just
had to watch your step in the morning. However, it was easy to just sweep
them off the patio, and that took care of it.
Alfonso runs a ceramic shop downstairs from the apartment. It's a fun shop
to visit with plenty of beautiful ceramics that make great gifts.
I would return to this apartment in the future. The Amalfi Coast is beautiful
and this apartment is a great home base to use to visit the entire area.

After a strenuous week cycling against headwinds in Holland we arrived at Casa Marina late at night. We were met by Anna (I think that was her name) and helped up the stairs to our home for the next week. There were grapes and lemons in the
fruit basket and some supplies for breakfast.
We found the apartment comfortable with everything we needed for awonderful holiday. Anna was very helpful with any information re. transport and local shops. There was plenty of literature available in the apartment about the local sites and we made full use of them.
We spent many delightful hours on the wonderful terrace overlooking the bay -a fantastic spot! The little beach was quite a walk down to it and a steep walk back up-but it was well worth the effort. Take thongs or something for the feet -walking on the stones (instead of sand ) is quite hard on the feet!
Praiano is a delightful little village away from the usual tourist crowds and I can recommend both Casa Marina and Praiano to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday on the Amalfi Coast.

For the week we stayed it was a wonderful experience beginning to end. The view was second to none, and Alphonso and Maria were helpful and gracious. Praiano lacks the heavy tourist aura that Amalfi and Positano have, which makes this such a great place to stay. We usually went in the Napoli area in the morning and then returned in the early afternoon and enjoyed the sun and sea. We would like to return in the near future and will most likely stay there again.

My Wife & I had the pleasure of two weeks at casa marina during our three months holiday in Italy. What a great place. The loaction and views were stunning. It was central to the whole AMalfi coast, and it was simple to travel around the area (a bus stop right outside the accomodation). The accomodation itself was great. we had all the necessities we needed for a great two weeks. The owners were eceptionally lovely people - espacially Anna.
A special treat for us was the religious fiests fireworks that happened form a boat right in front of our balcony - front row seats.
We have no hesitatio in recommending casa marina to our friends, and have done so all ready.
