What a brilliant time we had in Praiano at Casa Susanna. My husband and I stayed with my sister and brother in law and baby nephew. The owner met us at the bus stop (which was very easy to identify and only a few metres from the front door) and showed us through. The views were breathtaking and exactly as described and photographed on the trip advisor and Summer In Italy websites. Summer in Italy had helped me choose this place as our requirements were not too many steps. There were only about 8 down from the road to the front door and a couple inside. We had luggage and an 11 month old so didnt want to lug too many things up and down steps each time we went out. The place had everything we needed - cooking utensils, washing machine, a secure balcony for baby to crawl around etc. Our stay was amazing and the first day, we didnt venture far from the balcony. The place was clean and well furnished and comfortable. I would have liked to see some spare pillows available for us (but found that most of Italy only had one very flat pillow per person). Instead, we used spare linen to prop us up. There was a complimentary water which was nice but it also would have been nice to see a few basics such as tea, coffee, sugar and a small milk. When you arrive somewhere after travelling all day, it is nice to be able to have some refreshments without having to find a store straight away. But in the scheme of things, this is just a small thing and is very usual throughout Italy! We had a medical issue whilst we were away and both Summer In Italy and the owner went above and beyond. Summer in Italy contacted the owner before we arrived and then he accompanied us to the pharmacy to translate. That really was very much appreciated. The owner also allowed us to have less than the usual weekly stay which was fantastic. So many places are not flexible in this regard. This accommodation is suitable for a family or even two couples. It is exactly as advertised and I would highly recommend it. Praiano was a little village where you shop with the locals. Its nearby neighbours of Positano and amalfi are much larger and touristy and not what we were after. Praiano allowed us to have a peaceful relaxing time and I would highly recommend it.

Although we arrived late in the evening to Casa Susanna , we were met by the very friendly owner who helped us with our baggage to the flat and gave us a very full explanation on the touring and transport possibilities along the amalfi coast .
It's hard to tell what was best about the flat . Maybe the enormous patio with the breathtaking view . Or the two comfortable bed rooms each with attached bathroom . Or the fully equipt kitchen and dining room . Or the fact that there were only 6 steps down from the road to the flat .
The flat and location with the bus stop almost infront of the front door , the super market 2 minutes up the road , the internet point right next door . We couldn't have asked for anything more .
I can't think of one single thing that i didn't like about the flat ... it was 100% perfect

It is centrally located in Praiano. It's very clean, bright and the views could not be more spectacular. I want to return every year. The owner was born here and has totally put every effort to make this as comfortable as possible to his guests. The apartment is well appointed. It's the ultimate vacation paradise. It really does not get better than this!

Praiano is a central location on the amalfi Coast, and Casa Susanna is the perfect spot within Praiano, especially because of it's proximity to an internet point. The accommodations are clean and the balcony is spectacular. Excellent restaurants are nearby. We felt is was a good value and will return.

Casa Susanna was everything we hoped for and more!
It was spotlessly clean on our arrival, our host greeted us, showed us the facility, showed us some written information on the area and answered any questions we had.
The view is amazing and the big terrace was a pleasure to use for early morning coffee and lat evening wine and cheese.
For such a small village, there are a variety of restaurants to choose from.
The bus service is great -- we parked our car and took the bus to Positano, Almalfi, Sorrento and more.
Parking can bit a bit of a problem as there is only street parking a short walk for the apartment, and most of it is designated for the residents -- sometimes we had to drive around longer than we wanted to and had to keep coming back to check for a spot -- but that is the only small issue I had -- everything else was perfect.
The entire process of booking through Summer in Italy was a joy - they are prompt, courteous and extremely helpful. -

With email and the internet available next door, the bus stop almost literally across the street, the view from the patio--it had almost everything we could want.
I did think the kitchen was a little disorganized in its setup and that there weren't enough cups and glasses (no wine glasses?) for use. For someone who enjoys shopping and cooking at home, these were minor annoyances.
The accommodations were simple but clean. It was the patio and the view that really sold us, and that certainly did not disappoint.
If you are looking for a quiet town with little shops each specializing in its own few items, friendly people who did well in understanding our limited Italian (and really appreciated our efforts in that regard), then I would definitely recommend Praiano. -

Austin, Texas, USAA little slice of paradise
Left on 06/17/2009 for a stay in October 2008
Staying at Casa Susanna the last week in October was a complete delight from the moment we arrived in Praiano. When I told the bus driver where we needed to get off, he said, "Next stop!" Well, the next stop turned out to be one stop before we needed to get off. Fortunately, we were at Hotel Esmeraldo, and the proprietor saw our puzzled faces and took us under his wing. We gave him the emails from Summer in Italy, and he called our host who was there within five minutes to take us to the apartment.
The apartment itself is simple, close to stores, only 11 steps down from the main street, and had everything we needed for our stay. However, the incredible million-euro view of the Mediterranean, the beautiful church in Praiano, and Positano in the distance made it exceptional!
Our very welcoming host was most helpful in telling us about areas to visit, and there was a plethora of tourist information in the apartment.
We enjoyed several meals at the ristorante above the church--right on the main road through Praiano, and the view was magnificent.
Day trips by bus to Positano and Ravello, with a stop in Amalfi, were everything we had hoped for. To go to Ravello from Amalfi, we took the sight-seeing mini-bus with an open top and it afforded views which would not have been possible in a closed vehicle. If at all possible, go to Ravello. On a mountainside overlooking the blue sea with a beautiful piazza and lovely old villas and other buildings, it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. We only regretted we were not there when musical events were scheduled.
We loved Casa Susanna--enjoyed being so close to the internet cafe, the bus stop, and only eleven steps down from the road. Since the bedroom is in the back of the apartment, the noisy street was not an issue.
I am an artist, www.oliverartgallery.com, and I have painted one painting from this leg of our trip--can't wait to paint the others. -

We loved Casa Susanna! We were so happy to be in the Praiano area away from
the major tourist areas on the Amalfi coast.
Casa Susanna has excellent access to grocery stores, restaurants, bus service,
and the Internet Point. People in the town were very helpful.
The terrace is absolutely fabulous, and we liked being right in town.
There is some inevitable traffic noise, but the convenient location more than
compensates for it. Apartment furnishings are adequate. We would definitely
go back to Casa Susanna. We also were impressed with the Summer in Italy
website. We found it accurate and easy to use..
