Villa Lauretta is a lovely 150-square-meter (about 1,615 square feet) villa overlooking the sea. It features spacious terraces, and a garden, all looking out on the sea. The house sleeps six people.

The villa, which has its own parking space, is located in Praiano , half way between Amalfi and Positano , about 7 km (approximately 4.3 miles) away from both towns.

There are two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom, a bathroom with a bathtub and shower taps, a large living-room with a fireplace, a spacious kitchen, and a second bathroom with only a sink and a toilet. Both double bedrooms are equipped with air-conditioning. The other rooms... are not air-conditioned.

The place

Villa Lauretta is a house set as a gemstone on a steep stretch of rocky coast above the sea. Leaning over from the garden or terraces you will see cliffs which seem to dive into the sea right below, the blue of the sea and the sky right before your eyes, and cluster of houses attached to the rocks and as if gliding over the sea on the side. You will be in the middle of one of the most picturesque and loved stretches of coast of the Amalfi Coast ; a place which will leave you with a feeling of awe as soon as you have arrived!

The villa actually looks across a tiny inlet having the beach of Praia on one side and a small cape where the round-shaped medieval tower called ‘Asciola Tower’ stands on the other. The sea down below the terraces of the villa boasts iridescent colors ranging from the turquoise-blue to the emerald-green, and it is dotted by small anchored boats in vivid colors. On the rock on sea level you will notice umbrellas and little tables of some bars and small restaurants nearby.

The villa faces the sea and the sun as it is located halfway between the top of the rocky buttress to which it is attached and the sea. However, it will not be difficult for you to reach the house: once you have taken the State Road along the coast by car or bus, you will also have to climb down a trail consisting of about 62 steps.

On the State Road, few steps away from the trail, you will find a parking space where you can park your car. The bus stop is about 200 meters (about 656 feet) from the villa. Also 200 meters (about 656 feet) from the villa you will find the first bars and restaurants. A grocery shop is about 3 km (about 1.9 miles) away.

The garden

Villa Lauretta is a two-storey house with terraces on each floor. The garden consists of three small terraces of land extracted from the rock and placed one below the other until almost “touching” the sea below. Nevertheless, reaching the sea through the garden is not possible. You will find this small and lush garden filled with flowers and vegetables all year round thanks to the mild and sweet climate of the Amalfi Coast!

In the area of the garden closest to the house, right under the living-room terrace, grows a perfumed pergola of lemons.

The house

The house is two-storey high: on the ground-floor you will find the living-room, the kitchen and a bathroom without shower, whereas on the upper floor you will have the three bedrooms and a complete bathroom. Air-conditioning is found only in the two double bedrooms.

A 40 square-meter (about 431 square feet) terrace with an outstanding view of the sea lies before the whole ground floor of the villa. On such terrace you will find tables and chairs, sun loungers and umbrellas: a splendid place to relax in front of the enchanting scenery of this angle of the Amalfi Coast!

The large arched patio doors of the living-room and the kitchen open onto the terrace. And all you will see even from inside the living-room is the sea, the sun, and a charming stretch of coast.

In the living-room you will find a couch and armchairs placed around a large fireplace and a table with chairs. From the living-room you will be able to reach the kitchen, where you will find a dining-table and a cooking area equipped with a four-burner stove, an oven, a fridge with freezer, and small appliances. The kitchen communicates directly with the terrace, where you will find a barbecue area: perfect for meals under the moonlight...

Right next to the living-room is the bathroom without shower, where you will also find a washing machine.

Inside the living-room, a staircase will lead you to the upper floor, where you will find three bedrooms and a bathroom. Two are double bedrooms, each equipped with air-conditioning and featuring a private terrace with a wonderful view of the sea. In the third bedroom there are two single beds. Such bedroom has a window overlooking the sea. The bathroom is spacious, and it has a bathtub with shower taps.

The beach

During your stay at Villa Lauretta, you will be close to one of the most typical beaches of the Amalfi Coast, the beach of Praia. The beach spreads from the base of a narrow gorge enclosed by high rocky walls deeply incised by erosion.

In order to reach the beach, close in sight but about 800 meters (about 2,625 feet) away, you can take the minibus which stops at the beach, Praiano and Positano.

You can even reach the beach on foot. It consists of a short walk easy to be taken only by those in shape, as you have to take a very steep stretch of area and also walk about three hundred feet along the coastal road, which has no curb.

Walking from the villa to the beach of Praia along the State Road will grant you pleasant surprises: the first is the access to a trail, indicated even on maps, which unravels upward through a steep gorge until reaching the top of the Lattari Mountains, a trail not to be missed if you are a trekking enthusiast; the second is a series of nativity scenes produced by ceramics artisans inside some large natural niches on rocky walls: they artistically reproduce scenes, houses, and activities of the inhabitants of the Amalfi Coast.

You will also discover the natural spectacle of the small bay on whose stretch of coast lies the beach of Praia, enclosed by steep vertical rocky walls which seem to plunge into the cobalt-blue sea…

Rendering the walk even more pleasant, once you have arrived at the beach, are the small bars and restaurants which feature tables on rocks caressed by the waters of the sea…

Other larger nearby beaches are those in Amalfi and the one in Positano, about 7 km (approximately 4.3 miles) away.

Nearby tourist attractions

Staying at Villa Lauretta will offer you a place which is not tourist-crowded and the chance of having all the vacation-life activities that the Amalfi Coast has to offer just on hand. Praiano is located halfway between Positano and Amalfi, about 7 km (approximately 4.3 miles) away from both towns.

From Praiano you can easily reach all the tourist points of interest of the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento Coast as well as Naples , the Vesuvius , Pompeii , Herculaneum , Paestum , and the islands of Capri and Ischia .

At Villa Lauretta you will have parking space available; however, having a car during your stay is not necessary, for the closest food shops are only 3 km (about 1.9 miles) away and the bus stop is 200 meters (about 656 feet) away.

You can conveniently use both the service of the local minibus which goes from Praiano to Positano and the service of the SITA bus, which connects Praiano with Amalfi and Sorrento . Both services are comfortable and economical.

From Sorrento you can take local trains to comfortably and directly reach Pompeii, Herculaneum, the Vesuvius, and Naples in less than one hour. Even Paestum and the coast of the Parco Nazionale del Cilento ( Cilento National Park ) are easily reached either by bus or train.

In Amalfi and Positano you will be able to take ferries or hydrofoils to visit through sea the Coasts of Amalfi and Sorrento, the coast of the Cilento National Park, and also the islands of Capri and Ischia .

You can also rent boats or join daily and nightly mini-cruises along the coast.

Staying at Villa Lauretta will enable you to visit the famous beaches of the Amalfi Coast, go shopping for fashion and the best handcrafted articles, and experience the numerous top-quality folklore, artistic, musical, and cultural events which take place throughout the year.

Not to be missed by classical music enthusiasts are the famous concerts held during the Festival of Ravello , and for those who are fond of trekking, there are trails which unravel through the mountains of the coast, among which the most famous one is the “ Sentiero degli Dei ” ( Path of the Gods ), known for the beauty of places unveiled during the walk.

Moreover, on the Amalfi Coast, one can also practice water sports, go scuba-diving, rent bicycles and motorbikes.

For those willing to experience the intense night life of the Amalfi Coast, there is a range of choices: from piano-bars to the most exclusive nightclubs.

The nearest airport is in Naples, 60 km (about 37 miles) away. The other closest airport is the one in Rome , 260 km (about 162 miles) away.

  The villa was more beautiful than I could imagine ,the view,the town,the beach and of coarse the owner were amazing!!! I would recommend it to anyone who wants a dream holiday.Store is right down the road and they deliver.The owner brought fig's from his tree's and was really the most wonderful person we met in Italy.Great food everywhere and the beach just a short walk away.

  I would recommend this villa and location in Italy (Praiano along almalfi Coast) to my best friends and family. We could not have been more pleased with this vacation. The owner (Raphael)was gracious and so very helpful. The people in this area of Italy were all so very nice even when there was a language barrier, they did everything they could to help. Raphael even took us to the local grocery store for supplies when we arrived and the store owners gave us a ride back to the villa - such nice people.
  
  The view from the villa was stunning and there were balconies off of the two king bedrooms and a large deck off the first floor with plenty of lounge chairs, tables and chairs etc. Even fruit trees with the tops reachable from the deck so you could pick fresh lemons and cumquats to enjoy :-). The villa had everything we needed - kitchen well-stocked and spacious and the living room was also very spacious all rooms looked out over the water.
  
  We had a car, but primarily used the local buses, water transportation, and walked. There were so many really good family-run restaurants within walking distance at the bottom of the cliff by the villa we had a tough decision each night when deciding which to go to - we loved them all. our favorite appetizer was the Black pepper mussels at "Alfonze de Mare" followed by homemade pasta and wine.
  
  You can use a water taxi or book dives and boat trips to Capri right from the same beach near the villa. The view of the sea, beautiful terrain and roman tower would be tough to beat. We loved everything about our stay and would not change anything. even enjoyed the after dinner walks back up the rocky cliff to the villa (exercise allowed us to eat more :-))
  Also summer in italy was very easy to deal with and helpful would also recommend this organization.
  Note: Amalfi coast driving is quite the thrill ride! My husband said it was like a video game with consequences.

  We stayed at Villa Lauretta for 3 weeks. The only thing that could have been an improvement is if we had stayed longer. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds comfortable, and the view is outstanding. The owner is gracious, speaks english, and went out of his way to make our stay perfect. Don't delay, don't hesitate, visit Villa Lauretta.

  Wonderful location and a truly relaxing time

  My husband and two teenage children stayed here for one week. The villa was spacious and well equipt and the balconies/terraces were all a pleasure on which to spend time relaxing whilst viewing the gorgeous scenery. We also loved the fact that you could take an interesting walk in the gardens for a change from just having a terrace.Close by was a beach and several restaraunts/cafe's to take an evening stroll to if you don't feel like driving. There are also grocery shops close by to walk up the mounside to but they are well hidden so ask the owner, who is very helpful and friendly, for directions. All in all we were very happy with our choice of villa and thought it excellent value for money.

  The Magical Amalfi Coast

  It was a family wedding in Positano that brought us to wonderful Italy. We were recommended by friends to stay in Praiano, situated almost 5 miles further along the Amalfi coast. After trawling the web for agents we came across Summer in Italy (and never looked back!)Their site is far superior. (It is very daunting to hire a Villa from such a distance!) All the staff were first class and we need not have worried as Villa Lauretta was a dream. Praiano is much quieter than Positano but this is what we prefered. We found an excellent shop up in the village which we walked to every day. There are plenty of good restaurants based close to the Villa. As it was so hot and we had a 5 month old baby with us we spent most of our time on the huge patio, relaxing. We used the local bus to travel to Positano which always arrived on time. The only problem we came across was that the main bus service from Positano to Amalfi was always full so we did not even attempt to catch one as it would have proved most difficult with baby,pushchair,& rucksacks! We left Praiano just as the full season was starting so who knows more buses may have been available the following week. What we enjoyed best was walking in the village along the cobbled walkways between the houses and meeting the Italian people who adore babies! And what we liked least was leaving!

  this villa was in great location with fantastic views. The accomodation was excellent but the main reason we booked this accomodation was because it came with parking (in a garage) a little tricky to get into but nethertheless brilliant as not many properties had parking.
  
  Many good restuarants within easy walking distance as was the beach and boats to travel up or down the coast. Overall a superb villa, in a superb location, would definatley reccomend.
