Additional Location Information
Pralognan, in the heart of the La Vanoise national park, will enchant you with its authentic way of life and untouched scenery. At Pralognan you can have a great alpine holiday in magnificent surroundings. The village, with its picturesque hamlets, is nestled between mountains and glaciers to die for.
Pralognan Savoie Mont Blanc is one of the oldest mountain villages in France, and has kept on top of modernity, keeping its rustic charm. It has nothing to envy to the larger ski resorts. There is an ice skating rink, a indoor swimming pool, bowling, and it won't be a problem to find WIFI access!
"Pralo" like the locals call it, is the authentic Alps resort, for nature lovers to experience a complete change of scenery: Small skiing area, village ambiance, various sport activities and a great place to relax.
If Heidi's grand father was to build his new chalet, he would do so at Fontanettes, one of the hamlets that is accessible in winter, with skis, snowshoes or even by walking.
The village is situated on a plateau, at an altitude of 1410 metres and in its centre, you will find all the amenities, such food shop, sports shops, restaurant, bars, doctor, pharmacy, laundrette, bank, garage etc...
The locals will welcome you warmly, with a touch of appealing rustic charm.
Take time out to visit the hamlets and local producers (Les Clarines) and Samantha will give you a taste of her delicious Tome de montagne, the local cheese.
The multitude of activities offered, means there always something to do if you want to (sledge, sleigh rides, shopping etc...), but after 7:30pm, the bars and restaurants are open, but be aware that Pralognan is not famous for its wild night life!
