BOTHELL waGreat house, modern and clean
Left on 07/07/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Beautiful large home for just the two of us, but it would be perfect for large families, since there are 3 bedrooms and one bedroom has 2 large size bunkbeds in it. 3 bathrooms. Large rooms. Super clean. Nice wood floors and everything you need to feel like home. It is in a neighborhood, so you do have them next door, but it's quiet and you can only see one house if you look out side window.river path is easy to access river in front of home. My husband caught alot of trout right out front. Deck is generous size, but there were so many masquitos that it was hard to enjoy it without bug spray. Beautiful view of the mountains, river and sunsets each day and night. Bedroom downstairs was cool, rest of the house gets a bit warm, with no air, but luckily by night it cools off (July) bed was comfortable, and kitchen appliances were easy to find and use.nice large size washer and dryer. Cable tv was limited, wish we had more channels, but there is enough to keep you happy for the night time when we used it. ..park is a bit of a drive 45-50 min depending upon traffic, but we enjoyed the scenic drive, frequently seeing wildlife along the way Generous size bathrooms, and plenty of hot water. Felt like home, which is a great way to enjoy the 9 days spent. One more day here and while we look forward to being home, this home is one of our top rentals.

~ Yellowstone Lookout South ~
This is one of the most complete vacation rental properties we have ever stayed in. The house is amazing!! The kitchen is loaded, everything you need to cook and more. The view out the kitchen window is beautiful, snow capped mountains in June.
The dinning room/family room is huge! Sliding glass doors to deck, with a incredible view of the Yellowstone River and the mountains. Also on the main floor is 1 bedroom with attach bathroom.
Downstairs are 2 more bedrooms and bathrooms. The master bedroom is huge. You have your bedroom with a king size bed, then there is a dressing room and your own bathroom. Outside your sliding glass doors is a hot tub. We enjoyed this every night and watched the stars.
We stayed 5 nights, and drove to Yellowstone National Park everyday. It's about 40 miles to the park, but what a beautiful drive. The weather was great and the park was amazing. We saw elk, pronghorn, buffalo and even 3 bears. It got cold one night and snowed in the mountains. We made a small snowman and slid down a hill in the fresh snow. So much to see at Yellowstone.
On your way back from Yellowstone there is a great little store/gas station called Emigrant General Store in Emigrant, MT. A grocery store that has a little bit of everything.
Our last day our boys and my nephews tried fishing, I heard it was good, but they had no luck. River was to high and running to fast, but they still had fun. My sister and her family stayed in Yellowstone Lookout Cabin, right down the road. This place is also a great find.
Yellowstone Lookout South is one of the best places we have stayed at. Time went by way to fast. If we ever drive back to Yellowstone, I would definitely love to stay here again.

We were pleased with the service from the time of our initial contact. It was our home away from home as soon as we arrived. The spacious well equiped kitchen and family area were the perfect space as we gathered for meals and card games. The views of the snow covered mountains from the home were awesome. The location was ideal for our trips into Yellowstone Park and the surrounding area. We would definitely recommend this home to others.

Researving this beautiful home in Paradise Valley was simple and very easy. The directions to get to the property along with instructions to gain entry via a lock box was all emailed to us making it very easy to find and enjoy this wonderful property. When we opened the front door we were amazed at the beautiful furnishings and excellent floor plan. Complimentary coffee mugs were sitting on our table. The views out the back door deck was unforgettable. The bedrooms and linens etc. were top notch and very comfortable. The location on the famous Yellowstone river made a great fishing experience for all of us. Our 16 year old son and his friend fished early moring and eavening and had a super time. They caught 2 rainbow trout and 2 brown trought right outside our home and we baked them up on the outside grill for dinner along with some wild rice and asperagus. Delicious to say the least! We look forward to coming back to the wonderful home.

We had a great time during our stay at Yellowstone Lookout South! It was a beautiful cabin with beautiful scenery. The cabin was well stocked with kitchen appliances, the beds were comfortable and clean, and the layout was perfect for our situation. Our only complaint was that there was no Espn - but a week without sports wasn't the worst thing in the world! Especially since we had bald eagles and elk to look out right outside the window.

We had a pleasant stay at our Mountain Home. The facility was clean and well appointed. Was almost as good as home.
One disappointment was that the website picture led us to believe that there wasn't much around us and that we could wander. So not the case as there were houses on both sides of us and property lines were very well defined. You need to update your website.
Yellowstone river very high and fast which was also a disappointment although it not something that anyone can do anything about, it's the weather.
All in all a good visit and should we go again we probably would look at what other properties you have that might be available.

Left on 07/14/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Yellowstone Lookout South was great. Making all the rental arrangements and coordinating 2 families meeting there from distant locations was very smooth with Mountain Homes. We have rented many different vacation homes across the eastern part of the us and Canada and this was definitely the best equipped home. Cooking equipment, spices and staples, linens - all were provided in abundance. Beds were comfortable and the house was spacious. In addition, the first night we were there we discovered that one of the slats supporting the bunk bed was splintered. We put in a call and the next day Jim was there to replace that slat and any others that even looked questionable. We were hoping to be able to spend some time at the river, but the river level was so high that our picnic table was under water most of the visit. The only real drawback of the house was also one of the nice features - it is pretty isolated. Since we were spending most days in Yellowstone, it meant a fair amount of driving (~38 miles to the North entrance) - but it was a scenic drive and we did see wildlife even on the way to YNP.

The house was very nice with excellent views of the Yellowstone River. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained - very comfortable.
The only things about it that we didn't like is that there were other houses very nearby and it's about a 35 to 40 minute drive to the entrance to Yellowstone. -

The home was absolutely as pictured on the website. Mountain views from the front and more mountains and the river from the back deck. The kitchen was fully supplied with everything we needed. The house was just so cozy and wonderful to return to each day after exploring Yellowstone. Having a private hot tub with views of the river/mountains was a real bonus. The beds and pillows were very comfy and the view of the river from the bedroom was great! The drive through Paradise Valley to reach the home was wonderful - we probably saw more elk along that road then we did in Yellowstone! The Wi-fi worked great-no issues. The owners of the home have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable: a cooler in the closet for us to use when packing a lunch for daily outings to Yellowstone, a drawer full of board games, fully stocked bookshelf, and they even supplied all the laundry soap, dish soap, etc. A wonderful vacation and lots of memories!

The home was well equipped with most necessities such as dishes, pots and pans, washer and dryer.
The walkout basement level was fantastic with a great view.
The main floor bedroom did lack for places to put luggage and the bathroom was shared off the kitchen and also was a little small and storage was lacking.
The overall experience was fantastic and would recommend it.
The biggest thing was the 35 minute drive to the north entrance of Yellowstone. -

Left on 09/02/2010 for a stay in August 2010
The home was in a wonderful location, in a beautiful, private setting. The property was very well maintained and each room was thoroughly clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the local wildlife and fishing, as well as it's proximity to Yellowstone Park. The hot tub was fantastic and the nighttime stars are not to be missed!
Our only suggestions would be perhaps a nice welcome basket of coffee and morning goodies to help out late arrivals who may not have had time to buy groceries? Also, the satellite television was extremely difficult to use and the programming selection left a lot to be desired. The DVD selection was disappointing, as well.
Overall, though, a wonderful vacation spot! -

I had wanted to visit the area since I was a kid. Last year I fond the house by doing a google search, but it was too late in the season. I contacted the owner directly, who put me in touch with Mountain Home. I booked our stay months and months in advance. It was seemless. To add to the experience, Mountain Home hooked us up with a guide who we hired for a private tour of Yellowstone. The entire trip was perfect. I am already planning to return next year.

ChicagoWe want to live here...
Left on 07/20/2010 for a stay in July 2010
This place was amazing, exactly what we envision when we imagine our future beyond Chicago. It's a great size for a family, though it was just the two of us on our romantic vacation. We were so jealous of the random things in the house--washer and dryer, for instance, and such a well organized pantry. We live in a small apartment, with roommates, so these things were notable.
The river...where to begin...we loved that river, even though she scorned us when it came time to give a go at fly-fishing. We didn't catch anything, and even though we are admitted amateurs, we really thought we would. The fish were visibly writhing in the banks around the house. I had visions of trout dinners from the bounty we would catch, and alas, nothing. But, given this was my first taste of the fly, I vow to come back and teach those fish a lesson in human superiority.
We loved staying in the house. The bed was huge, and the kitchen had everything to make a lovely dinner. It was a huge (huge) expense on our two week road trip, but we looked at it as our splurge of luxury.
The check in time is too late. We had been on the road and camping for about a week before we arrived, and we got there early. The cleaning person was working in the house, and I get it, there were probably sloppy guests before us, but we gave her about three more hours to finish and came back, and her car was still there. We would have loved to recharge before the 5:00 check-in, and for $900 dollars for three nights, I really felt entitled to that, but rules are rules, and we didn't push it.
Overall, we were reluctant to leave. I cried a little on our last morning, looking over the porch onto the river. The setting is beautiful, the nearby towns are full of interesting characters and surprisingly good places to eat. I loved it here.

On arriving at Yellowstone Lookout South we were amazed at the wonderful views of the river and mountains from all areas of the house and deck. The house was spotlessly clean with all the amenities you would expect from a quality vacation home. We spent all our days in Yellowstone National Park, which was about 40 beautiful minutes drive down the Paradise Valley. We saw numerous animals, inc. bears (black and grizzly), wolves, moose etc. Even saw an elk giving birth near the Visitor Centre at Mammoth Hot Springs. In all we had a fabulous vacation and will definately be back.

Left on 10/01/2009 for a stay in August 2009
Yellowstone Lookout South is a perfect place to stay if you are visiting Montana & specifically the Yellowstone area. I wish we would have booked the house for two weeks instead of only one week. The views from the house are great...mountains & the river, not to mention the stars at night. We liked the fact that the house had plenty of supplies (napkins, kleenex, TP, paper towels, laundry soap, seasonings, etc.) The ladies at Mountain Home rental were very nice & helpful whenever I called them with my questions (prior to our arrival). The only thing I didn't like was the fact that you have to be somewhat agile to get into the river from the dock. The steps were ladder-like. I'm guessing it would be an easier entry into the river earlier in the season when the river is higher. Anyway, that didn't stop anyone in our family (except me), from going into the river. It's a beautiful house and was very clean when we arrived. Thanks to the owners for sharing their home !!!

This home, and this rental company, are awesome. The home is beautiful, well appointed, comfortable and elegant. The views are spectacular, so even if you just wanted to sit on the deck or in the spacious living room and look out, well, you could. But we fished, hiked in Yellowstone, sat in hot springs, and then returned to our sanctuary at night. Plenty of room for six of us, and one lovely dog.
The rental is easy, and invisible, no one hovers, and expectations are clear. When there is a problem (it was minor, related to wireless connections) it was resolved quickly and nonintrusively.Response from Mountain Home - Montana Vacation Rentals - 05/11/2009

We enjoyed the river, floating, fishing, and watching it and the eagles gliding over it. We liked being close to Yellowstone Park as going into it was a highlight of our Montana vacation. Mountain Home staff were very friendly and efficient and when we contacted them once after hours they were very prompt in returning our call. Every spring break I like to take my family to a relaxing part of our wonderful nation that we have not visited. We usually incorporate a National Park on our itinerary. Yellowstone is a place that in my opinion everyone should see at least once. Yellowstone Lookout South is a clean, beautifully furnished home in a beautiful part of our planet. The people in the surrounding area are extremely friendly. The views from the home are something you have to see for yourself like looking off the back deck at the Yellowstone River and surrounding mountains while grilling some steak or from the warmth of the hot tub at night looking up at more stars and planets that you can count. Our stay in the spring gave us a mix of sun and snow. It was amazing. There were only a handful of visitors at Yellowstone park so if you don't like crowds spring is the time of year to go. Although it snowed we were still able to swim in the hot springs at the park. Being able to stay at Yellowstone Lookout South made our trip to the area a memorable experience and I would recommend this vacation home to family, friends or anyone who would like to have a great vacation near Yellowstone Park.

This house was PERFECT! My Husband and I stayed here the summer of 2008 with our 2 kids ages 2 and 4, along with my Mother and Father-in-law, as well as my Brother and his wife. It was so close to everthing we wanted to do, mainly fishing, but Chico Hot Springs, Bozeman, and Livingston as well. The house comfortably accomodated all of us, and was immaculant! The kitchen is fully equiped with all the tools for cooking, and the house furnishings are up to date and cozy. It is a kid freindly home, however I would keep a close eye near the river. There is a steep drop off to the river at the edge of the property and the river runs fast! Beautiful views, especially from the spa! We were so sad when our week came to end and we were already planning our next trip back before we hit the road home. We still talk about it all the time! Absolutley wonderful and highly recommend!

Hello Jodi - Thank you for your nice comments about our home. We're glad you had such a great vacation. Thank you for the note about young children and the river. You are right about the Yellowstone being a fast moving river and that it's not safe for young children to play un-attended at the river's edge.
For future guests - if you take a look at photos of the home on our website you'll see the lawn area and the few slopes going down to the river. Depending on the time of year, and how the runoff (snowmelt and rain water that flows into the river) is happening that year, there will either be a very steep last few feet down to the river or a path that leads you easily to a gravelly "beach". Usually by mid-summer you'd have the later. But either way, the river's edge is a place for children to be only with a grown-up along.

Would highly recommend and will utilize your services at the next
opportunity! Comfortable setting, immaculate condition, no hassles,
very private. -

We stayed in this wonderful home on a two week honeymoon. I can't begin to convey how happy we were that we chose this home to stay in as opposed to a hotel. We wanted our honeymoon to be very special and between beautiful Montana and this very comfortable, cozy home it was truly an experience we will cherish for years to come. The house and location was everything we had hoped for and more. The house was clean, furnished nicely and had all the amenities of your own home. The views were beautiful and it gave us the comfort and privacy we were looking for. We loved the fully stocked kitchen, washer and dryer and the hot tub!
We hope to return to this home again very soon, but until then have fantastic pictures and special memories of this wonderful house and our time spent there in one of our now favorite places, Montana.
