Able to sleep up to eight people, this spacious and unique former schoolhouse has been beautifully renovated to retain many of its 19th Century features. Successfully renovated into an attractive holiday property, this picturesque building is a former 19th Century school set on the wooded slopes of the Glaslyn Valley in the small village of Prenteg. Fitted with a mixture of original character features and various modern facilities, the property offers two sitting rooms - one with a multi-fuel stove – four bedrooms and a fitted kitchen with dining area. There is also a lovely garden with lots of space for al fresco dining and summer bal...l games. In addition, the property boasts spectacular views over the rolling hills and rugged mountains of the surrounding countryside.

Electric oven & hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, 2 x flat screen TVs with FreeSat, 2 x DVDs, free wireless internet connection. Fuel, power & starter pack for multi-fuel stove inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Travel cot, highchair & stairgate on request. Off road parking for 1 car, roadside parking in front of property for 4 cars on a quiet road. Large enclosed lawned side garden, front patio with furniture, BBQ & views. Two dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 2 miles, pub 10 mins walk. Note: The off road parking space is approx. 1.5' higher than the road level & as such is better suited to 4x4 vehicles.

Region: Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Town: The small village of Prenteg stands at the foot of the Moel Ddu Mountain, close to Tremadog Bay, and lies besides the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. Renowned today for sightings of Wales’ only pair of nesting Osprey, this area was formally known for its slate and copper mining industries. Four miles away is Glaslyn Estuary, the bustling harbour town of Pothmadog which is a thriving port with an exciting marina and an interesting array of individual shops and restaurants, it is also home to the historic Ffestiniog Railway. Near the picturesque village of Borth-y-Gest is Black Rock Beach and with its pretty cliffs and coves make this area an idyllic way to spend a day. Another must see is the Italianate village of Portmeirion. This, coupled with the medieval castles at nearby Criccieth, Harlech and Caernarfon and along with the many excellent cycling and walking opportunities that are all within striking distance makes Snowdonia and the Lleyn Peninsula a fabulous place to spend an interesting and excitingly different holiday destination.Read more

All prices are inclusive of the booking fee. The "Min. Per Night" prices quoted are based on the weekly rental price, they are not applicable for short breaks. See our short break policy or ask for further details.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  Beautifully converted Victorian school house

  Our party of six thought this converted school house was excellent; standard of accommodation was very high and well equipped. Only quibble was with showers; only one could be used at a time, thus negating somewhat having one in the bathroom and one ensuite. Also, no other taps could be turned on if someone was using the shower. A small problem with reception on TV in main lounge but this may have been the situation of the cottage.
  We would recommend the cottage in spite of above as it was very comfortable and 'different', and in an attractive part of Wales with easy access to other interesting places.
