      Condo 8131/8132

Left on 01/13/2013 for a stay in January 2013

Hanalei Bay Resort was great as usual. The condo itself needs updating and was not as appealing as some other condos we have stayed in. It took a couple of days to air out the musty odor since it had been unused for a while.

      old tired unit

Left on 01/11/2013 for a stay in December 2012

The unit was "grubby". Old dirty carpet, soiled bedspreads, old towels. One tiny bar of hotel soap provided. Old towels. Toaster didn't work. Element on stove worked sporadically.
      Furniture old and worn out.
On top of it all was overcharged on nightly rate. Tacked on "resort fees" and management fees, cleaning fees, drove the price of the unit up substantially. Would never stay here again.

      Do Not Go Here!

Left on 03/27/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We are timeshare owners and rented a unit here through a trade with Interval International. Calling this a "resort" is misleading. There is no restaurant, bar, grocery store, workout facilities or other amenities associated with a resort. There are port-a-potties at the pool. The first room we were given smelled of mold and mildew with wall paper coming off, sinks stained, microwave scorched and stereo missing. Moving to a new unit and using bleach and air fresheners made this unit better. I do not recognize the pictures on the web site??? Throughout our week, we spent as little time here as possible. No other properties were available on the island - we tried to move. I recommend finding a better facility.

Hanalei Bay Resort a bit of a war zone

Left on 11/23/2011 for a stay in November 2011

Our condo was great. What's not to love about a reasonably priced room with a million dollar view? However, the resort management was totally indifferent to the fact our phone never worked for the whole 2 weeks we were there. Not to mention, one day, with no prior warning, the pool and hottub were fenced off and ripped up. A shrug of the shoulders from management "There is another pool". Yes, but it's the size of a fish bowl. The entire time we were there workers were also in the process of tearing down the roof of the main admin bldg / restaurant / bar / sundry shop where there had been a fire. No compensation or apology offered. Clearly the staff are working in less than ideal conditions, but I did find one particular fellow rather arrogant and condescending, when contrite and apologetic would have been more appropriate.

      The condo has wonderful...

Left on 01/17/2011 for a stay in January 2011

The condo has wonderful views and all the amenities we needed. This condo was a bit of a hike from the parking lot as it is the furthest building down the hill. The resort is currently without a restaurant or bar area which was disappointing.
