From the initial email to Doug to the last close of the front door, this 3 week stay at 9302 was perfect. Doug is so easy to work with; it is like renting from your best friend. The Condo is appointed very comfortably without being fancy. The top floor location is wonderful. The daily sunsets are to die for!! Spectacular!! The location of the Cliffs is convenient but yet isolated enough for peace and quiet. We will definitely be back.

This condo unit was perfect for checking out Kauai! It's location is key for easy access to all Kauai offers. It is on the 3rd level which gives you catherdral ceilings & a loft. Full Ocean Views in front and Mountain Views to the Left. I love having the convenience of all home amenities an not being restricted by anything as you would in a hotel room. The condo association offers a gym & fabulous pool/hot tubs too right outside the door.

Where to begin?
Spacious, clean, very well maintained condo. Location *cannot* be beat -- the ocean is your view. At breakfast, watch the whales frolic. Incredible.
The condo complex is wide, welcoming, and perfectly located: nearby activities include horseback riding, paddle boarding, hiking, and catamaran day trips. Restaurants and shopping nearby. -

This was the first time we stayed in Doug's condo, although we stayed at The Cliffs two other times. His condo was better appointed, kept up better and had a better view than our other rentals at The Cliffs. This one is an upper floor unit and it has a loft. We didn't use the loft, but the high ceilings gave it a much more spacious feel. The unit was clean and didn't have that musty/beachy smell that some beach properties have. The bed was good, there was enough closets and dressers for all the clothes you really don't need, and the furnishings were comfortable. The kitchen certainly wasn't the highlight, but it was more than adequate. I would recommend Doug's condo to almost anyone, and we look forward to going back again this year.

The view from the balcony is endless. Spectacular sunsets. Lots to see and do nearby. Spotless condo. Very well equipped kitchen. When the garbage disposal gave out it was replaced within 24 hours, maybe less. A float valve in one of the toilets was also quickly replaced when we reported it running.

When we arrived, the condo was super clean, organized and more than ready for us. The kitchen was well stocked with things we needed to make us feel right at home. Our family has many wonderful memories from this condo.
We used the grills available to cook fresh fish from the Hanalei Fish Market in Lihue several times, which I highly recommend, it's the best fish around!
I absolutely loved waking up each morning to sit out on the deck with a cup of coffee to watch the waves and look for whales! Most mornings, after a 2 minute rain, the most beautiful, brightly colored rainbows would appear.
The pool is great! Lava rock waterfalls, giant jacuzzi, and an adults only area too. We checked-out the shuffle board equipment several times and had family tournaments. Dad spent time in the hammock overlooking the bay.
This condo is located right on the cliff with no view obstruction. Everyone else had to walk around condo buildings to see the best view - but not us. We could sit on our deck. Yes, we saw lots of whales.
The owner was super easy to work with and the on-site management was kind and helpful when we had questions.
When we go back to Kauai, we hope to stay
here again. -

We were in this beautiful condo for one month and felt like it was home. Each morning was exciting to wake up and sit on the porch, meditate, drink coffee and watch the ever changing ocean. Great place to look for whales during the season! The place was well equipped and very clean. We have already recommended this place to our friends. We plan on coming back again.

The condo was perfect for our family! The kids loved sleeping in the loft and having their own TV! We loved sitting in the living room and seeing nothing but ocean out the windows. The condo had such a lovely homely feel it makes you instantly relaxed and comfortable. The pool is very nice and newly redone. You cant beat the location either!

The sunset ritual on the bluff was spectacular every night! We had a wonderful time even though my husband couldn't be with us. He would have loved this condo, especially the view. My granddaughter, Lola - 3 ? years - had a great time at the beach and the pool. The cool breezes in the evening were very soothing. I'd love to come back.

Our family decided to have a summer Hawaian holiday this year instead of our usual spring break holiday. We wanted to see the island of Kauai. We wanted to snorkel on the north shore so decided to rent in Princeville. Once we connected with Doug everything was easy. We arrived the night of the 12th of august in the pouring rain but the next morning brought many pleasant surprises. The condo was beautiful. Very large and roomy, bright, comfortable and the view was fabulous. We saw pods of dolphins outside our windows many times. Our teenage girls loved the loft with their own space and TV (not that we had much time for that). They also loved their own bathroom and so did my husband and I. The master bedroom was very spacious and comfortable and there was a nice breeze blowing through every night. The kitchen was very well stocked. We didn't have to buy anything but food. The Cliffs Resort was also a nice surprise. The pool area was beautiful, the hot tubs and barbeques were a gathering place at night, people were friendly and there were many free activities organized on the property for us to take part in like yoga classes, scuba diving, painting, tennis lessons. You could even rent bikes and ride to the St. Regis Hotel down the road (which is the most beautiful hotel I've ever seen). The entire Princeville area was a lovely place to stay. We also liked the close proximity to the best beaches on Kauai (a couple of which were recommended by the owner Doug, Hideways and Sealodge). Doug has a website attached to his condo rental which is full of helpful information. Our family had a wonderful vacation. We will definitely rent from Doug again and I will recommend his condo to my friends in Whitehorse, Yukon where we really need to get away for warm vacations! The Mcarthur Family

Thank you for a lovely visit. Not too many sunsets because of clouds, but lots of rainbows! And turtles when snorkeling off the lava rocks at the base of Cliffs! This condo is spacious,comfortable and has everything one needs including a fantastic ocean view!

This was the second time we dealt with Doug Johnson in his condos at the Cliffs Resort. Mr. Johnson was very professional and dealing with him was very easy. All communications were done via e-mail and we had no problems at all. About a month prior to us leaving, we received the key in the mail. The condo was very nicely decorated. The decor was what you would expect to find on Hawaii. Everything was there that you would possibly need, including a washer and dryer. He even had beach chairs and items you could use on the beach. The location of this condo could not have been any better. The views of the ocean were simply breathtaking. We would sit out on the lanai and watch the whales jumping. The Cliffs is a really nice resort. They have a swimming pool and there are grills on the grounds, so you can grill out, again with the ocean right there. Everything with this condo was just perfect. From the time we first contacted Mr. Johnson about staying there til we closed the door on our last day. I would highly recommend dealing with Mr. Johnson and staying at the Cliffs Resort.

as always it was lovely. We did a little of everything this year – Tunnels,
Hanalei, zip lining, Barking Sands, etc… It went by to quickly, and we head
back to the foggy cool summer in No. California. Thank you for letting us
share your little piece of paradise.

Can't imagine a better home base for our vacations in Kauai. It was just what
we here looking for, and we LOVED it. The condominium provided plenty of
room for our family (2 adults, 2 teens). It was lovely, comfortable, and very
well appointed (kitchen, furniture, electronics, bathrooms, laundry room, etc.).
The view of the ocean and grounds was utterly fantastic; the ocean and
sunsets were incredible. Though we were there during the warmest part of
the summer, the condo stayed very comfortable with the sliders left open
when we were inside. This was our second time staying at The Cliffs; we really
like the location, as it is beautiful, very close to Hanalei and to many fabulous
beaches, and very convenient for shopping. The owner was very helpful and
professional, and was a pleasure to deal with from beginning to end. We will
stay here again as soon as we can! -

The 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo was everything we hoped it would be, fully supplied with all we needed and very clean. The location, right on the cliff overlooking the ocean, couldn't be better. We were there in March when the whales were playing nearby as we ate breakfast on our balcony. What a treat!

I have stayed in this condo for approx 7-8 weeks - at different times over the past few years. We love this place. Super comfortable condo with excellent ocean view, great newly remodeled pool area with extra fun stuff for kids (volleyball, basketball, tennis, etc...)
Kauai North Shore is our favorite vacation spot and continue to use the Cliffs #9302 when available. The owners are very good at cooresponding with you and are a pleasure to work with.

We've stayed in bldg 4 and building 9 and find both the rooms and the Cliffs to be fantastic. Having 2 full baths in either room is GREAT! Nice renovation of the pool and sports courts since we were there in 2007. The larger one, in building 9, is our favorite. What a fantastic view & the sound of the surf when we sit on the lanai for breakfast is hypnotizing. We were able to do all 3 of our hikes – the Kalalau trail, the Alakai Swamp & the Power line Trail. All were breathtaking (literally & then of course, the views!) We hope to make Kauai one of our regular vacation locations & hope to be able to return to this wonderful home, also!
Doug Johnson is a trustworthy owner to deal with. We paid a deposit and the balance before departure. The key gets mailed to you and you just drive up in your rental car and you're in. No check in or check out with the resort. I've used Doug twice so far, and plan to stay there when I'm on Kauai.
The north shore of Kauai is THE PLACE to be -- away from the congestion of Kapaa and 20 minutes from Kee and tunnels beach, with the end of the road being a drive you can do over and over and never get tired of it.
The only down side is minor - stairs only, no elevator. But your car is so near the room, the main time this is difficult is when you're dragging your luggage.

We have enjoyed your condo at the Cliffs several times since our first visit in March, 2004. You have been very professional and honest in all our dealings with you. Your condo is extremely clean, well maintained and gives you the feeling you are at home. Whale watching from the lanai is one of our favorite past times. We are anxious to see the new pool remodel this year as it was under construction last year. Every visit has been relaxing and gone by without a hitch. Its nice knowing there is someone locally to contact should we encounter a problem. Additionally, it is affordable and you have been very flexible with our schedule. We almost look forward more to staying at your place than at our timeshare in Hanalei Bay with those awful roosters!

Mahalo for sharing your lovely condo with us! Enjoyed our first trip to Kauai
after many years (20+) of vacationing on Maui. We explored the island as
much as our one-week allowed. Spent a day driving to see the Waimea
Canyon, then drove to the west end to Barking Sands Beach. One day we hiked
the Napali coast “Kalalau” trail to the first beach (4 miles round trip). Beautiful
hike! Be sure to go on a dry day or else the rocks on the paths get slippery.
We saw a monk seal as he slept on Larsen Beach … we almost tripped over him
because he was near the shoreline behind a big rock. Plenty of shopping on
the island so we are going home with some early Christmas presents.
Your condo was very spacious, clean, and had beautiful views of the ocean.
We took a few photos of spectacular sunsets from the lanai.
When we return to Kauai, we would like to stay in your condo again. Mahalo! -

Thank you for an amazing stay! Doug's place has one of the best ocean front views in the entire Cliffs complex, bar none. Comfortable, clean, and well equiped, this unit was the perfect base camp for our north shore adventures. With many options, we still found ourselves back here every night for the amazing sunsets. We really enjoyed the brand new pool, as well as the grill gazebo. Relative to the other options on the North Shore (we've stayed in several others), Doug's unit is a tremendous VALUE. Thanks again – we will be back!

What a fabulous week we had at your awesome condo in Kauai. The views were spectacular, the weather was perfect, and we had a very relaxing week. The guys played a little golf, we hung out at some spectacular beaches, visited a few waterfalls and really enjoyed all our dinners on the lanai. Loved the large loft...it was really like having two spacious master suites. The condo floor plan was ideal. We had a great time in "Paradise". We hope to return again soon. Thank you!
