The Puu Poa's hightlight is its exceptional location in Princeville. Unit P113 could use a newer tv (flat screen) in the master bedroom and better lighting in the front room, but overall we recommend this apartment for its spaciousness and for being well stocked with everything a vacationer needs. We also appreciated the responsiveness of Great Vacation Retreats' personnel and would rent from this agency again.

Our family (2 adults, 9yr old and 6yr old) recently stayed in Unit 113. Condo location is great as it is near many of the beautiful North Shore beaches and the town of Hanalei.
Condo is very spacious with loads of living area. Kitchen had all the basic amenities that you would need during your stay.
The view is stellar although no sunsets from unit!
This unit is in almost a separate building to the other units and faces away from the sunsets. We did really miss having a proper open deck/lanai in this unit. The lanai that this condo offers is right when you open the front doors and step into a covered open-air sitting area, with a door to the main part of the unit and sliding doors into the master bedroom. During our entire stay, we never used this outside area as it was dark and frankly a little uninviting with little to no view. Needless to say, it was not a place where you would really enjoy your cup of coffee in the morning. We instead did that from inside the unit with the patio doors wide open.
If you have small children, this unit would not be ideal, as the patio doors open onto about 2 feet of grass space (barely enough to stand on), which ropes off to the cliff below. Our kids never just ran outside to play and to get to the pool, we had to leave via the front door, back up the stairs to the parking lot, travel all the way to the other end of the complex to enter the gated pool area. Would also have been nice to have a hot tub. Enjoy the pool in the morning, as the afternoon it is shady.
The service from Great Vacation Rentals was wonderful and they were very helpful with anything you needed. We ended up renting beach chairs, boogie boards and a beach umbrella from them for the week as the unit had absolutely none of this equipment at our disposal.
This was a nice, clean condo, but I think next time we will stay at the other units in the building facing the St. Regis. -

We rented this Condo while with our 2 teenagers. We had the best family vacation together. The condo was clean, upscale, very spacious and everything that we could have ever wanted!!! The view was spectacular and our time in paradise was cherished by us all. We will definately use great vacation retreats again because the whole process was so user friendly and the service was spectacular!!!

We recently spent 3 nights at PP#113. What a beautiful spot. The condo was spotless and recently decorated. Wide open spaces and spectacular views. Master bedroom bed has a grass skirt, just one of many touches that makes this condo special. Furniture pieces are exquisite and very tasteful. Ceramic floors, double shower in the master bathroom, tastefully placed mirrors that give the condo an even more open feel etc etc
N.B. We spent our first night at PP#114 and were lucky enough to change to 113. Do not stay there unless it gets renovated. It is stale in layout, furnishings and smell.Response from Great Vacation Retreats - 11/04/2011

When you feel like home while you are on the beach, that speaks a lot about the place you are staying. We stayed in this condo for 11 days and began to feel like we were home. It was a beautiful, comfortable and highly functional condo that gave us everything we wanted and more. The view was unbeatable, the location was prime, and the condo was well-furnished and hospitable. We couldn't have asked for a better place for the price we paid. Our only complaint was that it wasn't flawlessly cleaned.

Kauai is special place, with unsurpassed beauty everywhere you look. This home and location is second only to the natural paradise it is located in. Hideaway Beach, below the cliff feels like your private retreat. Picture can not do "justice" to the views you get just by stepping outside your door with a cup of coffee in your hand. The cliffs, sunsets, surfers and the sound of the waves crashing is like heaven on earth. The kitchen and all amentities were fully stocked (and I am not the easiest girl to please). Location was perfect, close enough to airport for tours but far enough away to feel nestled in our own private paradise.
