SeattleA home in paradise
Left on 10/18/2012 for a stay in October 2012
This condo is in a fantastic location and has one of the most amazing views you could hope to have. The condo is spacious and bright and the lanai is extremely large. It's quiet and very private and we enjoyed spending many hours watching the waves and surfers. The kitchen is very well stocked and we got everything we needed at the supermarket in the Princeville Center. Everything you need for the beach is provided - snorkel gear, boogeyboard, coolers, beach totes, beach towels etc. You can hike down a steep trail right next to the condo to the Hideaways beach for the best snorkeling or walk down to the beach at the St. Regis as well. Hanalei Bay is a quick drive away as well. We used the tennis court a lot as rackets and balls were also provided in the unit. The swimming pool was clean a great way to cool down. Our favorite thing was relaxing and hanging out on the lanai. We also enjoyed using the grill for most of our dinners. It felt like a second home and didn't want to leave. We would definitely stay there again.

PAVacation of a Lifetime!
Left on 08/30/2012 for a stay in June 2012
My husband and I recently enjoyed our honeymoon in Kauai. Our stay was absolutely amazing and our accommodations at Puu Poa 204 were outstanding! The condo is extremely spacious and clean. The best part of waking up in the very comfortable King bed was the ability to look out the window at the breathtaking Pacific Ocean. The sun and living room provided us with ample space to relax and watch TV. We spent many nights sitting on the Lanai, watching the sunset or just relaxing to the waves of the ocean.
The condo is conveniently located in a quiet area of Princeville. It is within walking distance of many delicious restaurants at the St. Regis hotel who host a delicious breakfast buffet in addition to quick access to a grocery store. You are also within a short driving distance of Hanalei Bay which provided us with excellent restaurant choices, more beaches to explore, and boutiques.
There are numerous beaches located nearby; however, if you decide to take the trail to the more exclusive beach near the condo, prepared to be amazed. The scenery is like something out of a movie. You feel like you could be experiencing one of the most beautiful places in the world.
We have already recommended this condo to family and friends and can't wait to come back here ourselves!

This condo is the best of everything. Great location, views and scenery galore. Close to many shops and restaurants both in Princeville and nearby Hanalei. Kevin's place has everything from a wonderfully stocked kitchen, and in-unit laundry, to snorkel gear, books, games, internet, etc. We spent time on the tennis courts and at the pool. Our family of four loved this condo, and we wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Los Angeles, CACan I move here?
Left on 08/18/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This is a beautiful condo; spacious, great view, well-appointed. The owner was very easy to work with - responded quickly to my inquiry and I was able to finalize the details within a day. The location is ideal (at least in summertime) - fantastic weather - combination of sunshine and tropical clouds, and nightly rain (no wonder it is so lush). The steep stairs down to Hideaways Beach might not be for everyone, but if you are fairly sturdy, it is just a few minutes down to a great snorkeling beach below the condo. The St Regis Hotel is the next property at the end of the road, with gorgeous views and a variety of food/drink options ($$$), and a lovely beach that is accessible through the hotel or (as we did) down and and then back up 190-ish stairs around the side of the hotel. The condo location is an easy drive to many island wonders: Hanalei (food, shopping, kayaking), Tunnels beach, the famed Kalalau trail, and to other interesting areas: Kilauea lighthouse and the nice outdoor casual shopping/eating area on the road there, other nice beaches, Kapaa, etc. It was not even too hard to drive all the way around the island to go to Waimea canyon and Ko ke state park (with fantastic hiking!).
What I liked best: watching the different sky every day and night from the very large, comfortable Lanai after days spent hiking, kayaking, swimming, and snorkeling. And when clear - stars galore.
What I liked least: I did not dislike anything. If I could add anything it would be an outdoor jacuzzi for my sore muscles after all the hiking and kayaking we did. There is a deep soaking tub in the master bath, but it was a tad too hot/humid to consider using it.

Hello Kevin - We really enjoyed our stay in Kauai at your beautiful condo unit! I wish I could hear the stories of all the unique furniture pieces in your unit! Your dad was absolutely delightful when we spoke with him about details of the area, directions, and the unit. Everything we needed was conveniently there! Loved the snorkeling at Hidaway Beach and sitting on the lanai watching the beautiful sunsets. Truely peaceful and relaxing! Thanks for sharing your paradise!

Left on 06/12/2012 for a stay in April 2012
It all started with a very helpful owner. We arrived to an amazing view and a very clean place with a bright and update feel/look. Really well stocked with misc things you need there (ice chest, chairs, snorkeling gear, tennis stuff). We would absolutely try to stay here again. We arranged most every day around being 'home' for dinner to watch the fantastic sunsets. I personally am not a fan of Princeville itself but this condo is such a great value for ocean front view, I'm sure I would stay there again if given a chance. Owner and condo manager are really helpful

Hi,
I wanted to write to you to tell you how much we loved your condo!...
Our stay there far exceeded our expectations - from the moment we opened the
front door and stepped into the light filled beautifully furnished foyer..to the time we sadly left the key in its lockbox as we departed -
we were transported by the magic of Hawaii - and your well appointed and
beautiful condo - with views to soothe the soul. It really was
lovely. I particularly loved how you opened the bedroom with the sun room
giving the space such air...and "flow" to the views...I really felt at home.
We left part of our hearts there and really would love to return! And plan on doing so!
Thank you so much for offering your elegant, yet comfy home on Vrbo - Perfect!

This was our second visit to Kevin's condo. This time was especially special as we went there to meet our new grandson "Liam". We could not have had a more perfect setting for such a momentous occasion. We had a lot of rain - but we also had many rainbows. The view is spectacular.

Upon entering your condo, the whole pacific ocean welcomed us to the start of the most awesome time we have had in our 38 weeks/15 years of visits to Kauai. Your condo is the finest we have ever stayed in. High ocean vistas were so mesmerizing, we rarely left the condo during our 4 day stay. Mahalo.

This is a wonderful unit. The views from the huge patio balcony are incredible. Watching the surf was mesmerizing. With binoculars, we had great views of the surfers. Whales were a daily sight. Albatross regularly flew by right in front of the balcony. We had great snorkeling (even for novices) a 5 minute walk down a steep trail to the wonderfully secluded Hideaways Beach - lots of fish; we even saw a couple octopuses. The unit comes with tennis rackets, and we had the tennis court to ourselves. Both the owner, Kevin, and the on-site manager were very friendly and helpful. The unit was wonderfully decorated and clean. This is an awesome place. Considering that just 100 yards down the road the cheapest rooms are $1000/night at the St. Regis, this place is a find.

My husband and I spent the last 3 days of a 19 day 25th anniversary trip at Kevin's #204. It was last minute and Kevin was incredibly helpful and accommodating. His place is fantastic. The furnishings are excellent. Actually, the pictures don't do it justice. We had such a great time and felt like we were in the lap of luxury. The condo is equipped with everything you need and I'm sorry that we couldn't stay longer. We would absolutely stay again in the future if available. Thanks, Kevin!

Imagine a home with an unobstructed view of the Pacific. Well, you have it here and more. Comfort and quality furnishings combined with a pool and tennis court with the St. Regis hotel a very short walk away combine for more than you would reasonably expect. All and all a great value.

If 204 was 40 yards north it'd be a ship!
We enjoyed the water, turtles, boats, swimmers and surfers immensely from both the lanai and from views from inside.
Furnishings, the kitchen, artwork, furniture and equipment everything was far better than one could hope for.
In our two week stay Kevin's place easily and promptly became home.
Sunsets viewing, walks, swims and explores all were easy from Puu Poa.
The carvings and art work really made us feel like we were some place special. Love the shower! We cooked at least one meal a day and some were pretty elaborate yet easily prepared in the fully furnished kitchen. Bbq/eating on the lanai was delightful. Walking to the St. Regis, their beach, Hideaways, and the Pale Ke Kola beaches was easy (well, steep, of course).
Joe, the Maintenence/resident Manager couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful.
We look forward to returning repeatedly to #204.
Having been to the Princeville area repeatedly we were rather annoyed with ourselves for having stayed other places in the past that were neither as luxurious nor had the view/location/comfort/ambiance of #204 but cost more.
Kevin has really made a delightful retreat in paradise!
It did often feel like being on a boat...
We miss it.

We stayed at Kevin's condo for a week, right above Hideaways Beach where the snorkeling has got to be the best on the island. The location has superb views, and the condo was equipped with everything you would need for a beach vacation. The kitchen is well stocked for those who like to cook and there are lots of good resturants nearby for those who don't.

Kevin's condo is well stocked with everything that you'll need for a pleasant day at the beach or a candlelit dinner on the patio viewing either a spectacular sunset or endless stars. Left on 04/19/2011 for a stay in March 2011
Princeville's Puu Poa 204 was indeed everything we imagined. The location is so scenic, pleasant walking environment and essential services within 2 mi. (post office, bank, grocery/sundry store, gift shops, hardware, wine store, several restaurants) Oh, not to mention the spectacular beaches and views within walking distance! The condo was well-appointed and had all essential amenities in the unit down to an iron and ironing board (not that you need one in Kauai!) TV/Cable/Sound system set up covered all the bases. The master bedroom and bath very spacious; kitchen has all the essentials for eating in; Lanai with great, clean furniture to enjoy ocean, whale and surfer views and gas BBQ. Front of unit is all glass with screens/bamboo shades so lots of ability to get 24/7 ocean breeze and sounds. Beach towels, totes, binoculars available; guide books handy. If you do a lot of beach hopping - may want to rent a chair or two if you have a group. (We rented snorkel gear.) Swimming pool at the units is clean and easy access. Units were very quiet and lanais are fairly private so it feels like your own special "pod" on the ocean. (Our rating for service just means - the unit has what it needs so not much servicing is required! Any you can be left alone if you want peace and quiet.) With a rental car, it was such a convenient spot on the North coast to go either west as far out to Ke'e Beach or to go east and hit many other beaches besides those right in Princeville. And at the end of the day, parking for the units is only steps away from the front door, so it is not hard to load/unload your car after a day of sight-seeing. If you want to "glam-it-up" you can literally walk to the spectacular St. Regis hotel for dining/entertainment. The entire property was extremely well-maintained, felt private and comfortably-luxurious without any pretentiousness. Mentally, we're still there - it will capture your imagination!

If you are at all interested in reconnecting with your sanity, your grounded self, this place will get you there. After a few days the environment surrounding this comfortable large apartment will impose a quite peacefulness to your day.
It doesn't seem to matter what you do or where you go,the whole area is stunning to your senses and the location is ideal for exploring the North Shore or anywhere else on the Island. I was able to write music for the first time in years.
That was enough for me, I'll be back to Puu Poa 204 as soon as I can. Aloha, Joe Egan -

We found Kevin"s piece of paradise quite by accident and boy are we glad we did! The view was spectacular, sunsets breath taking, and he had everything anyone could want right in the condo. We often ate dinner in...grilling, cooking in the well stocked kitchen just to enjoy that sunset. The condo's location is quiet, spacious, so comfortable, and a great starting point for morning walks. We could easily get anywhere on the island, but enjoyed staying in also. We enjoyed our vacation and can't wait to return. Kevin is friendly and keeps you well informed. We had a terrific 25th anniversary and just can't wait to return! Great stay. Have been to Princeville several times and always use 204 as our base. Nothing like Christmas in Kauai and the view from the lanai on Christmas morning is fantastic (Whales, rainbows and an occasional pod of dolphins swimming by)! The short hike down to Hideaways beach is also worth the stunning view of Bali Hai on the bay.
The condo has everything you need and is recently updated. Have stayed there with kids and other family members, can easily host a family of 5. Yet to run out of hot water! If you want to cook, the condo has all you need; fully equipped kitchen - dishwasher, disposal, microwave. We cooked a turkey dinner for 8 and had all the supplies (you supply the turkey).
The tennis court and pool are well kept-up and used every day.
Best of all, its close too many sites and other activities. Hanalei is just a 15 minute drive away (across a one-lane bridge!) and horseback riding, zip lines and world-class golf courses nearby. The new lavish St. Regis hotel is next door and is fun to use a place to dress up and relax with a Mai Tai.
Rental easy, value is good, and location is great. Will stay over and over again.

Wow, what can we say, the condo we rented in Puu Poa was just perfect, comfortable, roomy, beautiful view and peaceful! Our first visit to Kauai...it was an ideal place, while just two of use, it would have been very comfortable with another couple as we never used the back bedroom and there was plenty of space for more...and the view was one we never tired of! Most mornings we saw whales from the patio and even saw a school of dolphins one morning, not to mention the surfers we saw daily out front...talk about perfect!! We highly recommend this condo...great facility and grounds, nicely maintained and even, Joe, the maintenance man was helpful the first morning with lots of great information and suggestions...
You can't go wrong with this place...definitely a wonderful place to rent, whether for a day or a week or longer... -
