G-7 at Sealodge was a Great Base for Exploring North Shore of Ka

Left on 07/13/2012 for a stay in August 2011

Sealodge is one of the older condo complexes in Princeville--I believe it was the first one built. So, the shingle-covered buildings are looking a bit rundown. However, because it was one of the first condos, it has perhaps the best location...on the bluff looking down at the beautiful reef and ocean. There are newer, more upscale condos in Princeville, but for the value, this was fantastic for our family. Our relatives stayed in an upscale condo, paid much more money for a smaller place with worse views.

G-7 is a two story condo. Our kids (11 and 7) stayed in the upstairs bedroom with its own bathroom. Great views from the downstairs bedroom, lanai, upstairs bedroom, and window bench. The pool is just okay, but who goes to Kauai for the pool? I think we went to every beach on the North Shore, with our favorites being Hanalei for Sunset, Lumahai (where South Pacific was filmed), and Ke'e at the end of the road.

We shopped at Costco before driving out here. There is a Foodland in Princeville. Don't miss the farmer's markets. We ate in Hanalei when we did eat out or picked up from the deli at Foodland.

Eleanor who owns the condo has worked hard to keep it up. We felt like we were staying with family. The condo has a full kitchen and included beach towels, boogie boards, beach umbrellas, suntan lotion, etc. (although these might depend on who leaves what). Sealodge is not the fanciest resort, but is a great value and was a perfect North Shore base for our family.

      Wonderful

Left on 05/12/2012 for a stay in May 2012

Thank you to all the reviews and Trip advisor. It was everything I read. "hidden gem" If we ever go back to Princeville we will definitely stay here again. The beach just below was perfect! Just beware not to pack to much down cause it is a small trek back up. Explore both right and left at the bottom of the trail. Its gorgeous. We left our snorkel gear behind. The ones that were there were in bad shape. The chairs are usable but have seen better days. If you intend on going South start early like by 8-9am. The traffic gets a bit congested. You wont need laundry soap, oil, seasonings and some canned goods for a bit. I bought too much stuff and left quit a bit behind. Surprisingly against everything I read the prices for food at the store and the quality of restaurants was fair in comparison the every where else. We only ate out a few times and was not disappointed. The beds were comfortable, the view was wonderful and the grounds were well kept and very peaceful. Loved it!
