Ali'i Kai II is known in Princeville as one of the most quiet, peaceful, and immaculately landscaped complexes in the area, and our unit is in the building with the best location in the entire complex. We have an ocean view from our lanai (watch whales in season) and breathtaking jungle, mountain/waterfall views from the dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, and master shower windows. . The Princeville Resort area is known for its gorgeous beaches, world-class golf, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, swimming, hiking, kayaking, horse-back riding, tennis, helicopter tours, dining, and shopping. Parking is not an issue as there are enough parking spaces for each unit to have two vehicles.

We had a fantastic time on Kauai and this condo worked out great. In fact, our only complaint is that our trip wasn't nearly long enough. The owners have created a very homey and comfortable environment to relax in. The views from this place are amazing so I can see why the owners picked this unit. My kids loved the pool and would have spent the entire week there if we let them. The condo was exactly as represented. The recommendations and directions provided were great. The owners made the whole process very easy and stress free, which is sincerely appreciated. I will definitely recommend this condo to any friends or family that make plans to travel to Kauai.

Wonderful place to be. Owner was not kidding when he described the condo as luxurious. He had upgraded kitchen and bathrooms. The place was artistically decorated. And the view, oh my, it was great all around. So much better than the pictures. The big windows in the condo and the lanai allows you to appreciate the views.
The condo had all the luxuries of home. The place included W/D, dishwasher, hair dryer. First I think nice bonuses. When it came down to usage, it's even better. Quiet appliances. All 3 beds were comfortable. Quality pots and pans, utensils, toilet paper, hot water for showers, spices for cooking, and even a new sponge for dishes. Beach items included mats, towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, and 2 sets of snorkel gear. It also has a nice selection of movies and board games. Our kids enjoyed the game "The Settlers of Catan" and begged go home home to play it. The pools were near by. Turtle Cove was right behind the parking lot. However, the climb is quite steep so my 6 and 9 year olds did not want to attempt it. Not recommended for rainy days. You can see turtles from here.

Hanalei Bay was my favorite beach because of soft sand and gentle waters. I felt comfortable for my kids to go boogie boarding. The ocean is shallow for a long ways out so they have more ocean water to play in. Also close to the condo.
Tunnels Beach was ok for us. It had course sand and was a bit of a walk. The corals were not that pretty. May be nicer further out, but felt rip current and did not dare to go out further.
Duke's Kayaking tour. You can find a coupon for $38/pp in the coupon books around town. It includes a kayaking trip though gentle river, a hike, and then Secret Falls. Ask for Evan - he's awesome.
Shop Safeway on the way to the condo. Longs for cheap souvenirs.

Just returned from Kauai vacation with husband and 18 month old son. We really enjoyed staying in this condo for its great location and fantastic view. The whole unit has been very nicely renovated with a great master suite and bath plus a fully equipped kitchen and lovely dining area with an awesome view of the mountains. You can have a peaceful meal and watch the sunset over the mountaintops! The owner provides a bin of beach chairs, mats, boogie boards, cooler and even a pop up tent which was great for our little one on the sunny days at the beach! The condo has a beautiful greenbelt area right out back which was great for our son to run around on. Just a short walk away are a couple of beaches and the very popular Queen's Bath. Overall we had a very pleasant experience with the owner and condo. This was our first experience staying in a privately owned condo and the owner made everything so easy! We would definitely recommend this unit to anyone staying in the Princeville area.

This was my first time in Kauai, and first time renting a condo on vacation. I was very satisfied with how this trip turned out. The condo was immaculate: clean, roomy, great location, and had all the amenities we needed. The owner also supplied us with directions, area suggestions, and instructions...all very helpful! I will definitely rent again from this owner the next time I'm in Kauai with a group.
Also, the Princeville area is beautiful. If you have a car, then it's no problem to get around from city to city. There are some areas that are a bit more populated if that is what you're looking for. But I wanted a quiet, tropical area while still being close to the beach, and this was it! -

We truly enjoyed our entire stay at the condo. A relaxing and well designed condo with all the amenities you would ever need. Great location with close proximity to shopping, dining, hiking and any number of outdoor activities. The hosts were very attentive and helpful with suggestions that fit the experience we were looking for. We would highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for a place to relax while enjoying the island of Kauai!

The condo is located on the north shore, right in Princeville. My wife and I stayed at this condo in February 2013. The condo was apparently constructed in the late-80s/early-90s, but the place has been renovated, including new furniture, and is in immaculate condition. The grounds are likewise very well maintained. We would stay there again in a heartbeat (and plan to). There is a "peekaboo view" to the ocean; and magnificent view of the mountains/lush landscape that only the north shore affords. There is a nice swimming pool, hot tub, and well-maintained grills close by. Kitchen has all that you need. Living room has Wi-Fi and high-def television with lots of HD channels. Dining table is large enough to comfortably seat six or so. We gathered at the table often and played cards and other games with friends when it rained, etc. There is a porch with a small breakfast table-great for sipping POG and reading the Kauai guidebook to plan your day! There is snorkeling equipment available at the office for a reasonable price. The office also provides DVD rentals (e.g., Jurassic Park) for free. Super-friendly staff. The family that owns the condo offered very helpful advice on exploring the island and provided a ton of other helpful information. We had an absolute blast. I can't tell if I am still suffering from jet-lag or am just homesick to go back. Enjoy your vacation. Kauai is the best!

Definitely one of the best rental properties we've been to in Hawaii. The renovations done in the kitchen and bathrooms were very nice. The views are wonderful. The owners thought of many extra little amenities that you don't always find at a rental but they make all the difference in making you feel more comfortable and "at home." Great location, close to hiking, beaches and shops.

First of all, this condo is in a great location - located minutes from golf, hiking, beaches, shopping, restaurants, etc. Additionally, the views from here are absolutely breathtaking! Not many condos can boast about a beautiful mountain view and ocean view. It was lovely being able to wake up to the sound of the ocean and then to look out the master bed window to gaze at the sunset.
The condo, itself, is amazing! You can tell the homeowners put great care and detail into their home away from home. The condo is very inviting and beautifully renovated with marble counter tops, high-end kitchen appliances, gorgeous and comfortable furniture, Wi-fi (!!!), cable TV, and spacious bedrooms. The homeowners also went above and beyond making sure their guests have all they need - dishes, cookware, dishwasher, washer and dryer, beach equipment, a list of recommendations (e.g. where to hike, snorkel, eat, etc.), and the list just goes on! Furthermore, it was an absolute pleasure working with the owner (Eric). Any and all questions were answered thoroughly and promptly.
Bottom line: We loved the Kauai, the condo, and working with the owner. We will definitely be returning to this condo, specifically, (if it's available, that is). -

This was the most well appointed condo that we have stayed in, in Princeville. We were looking for a last minute condo to add onto our trip and were so happy that this place was available! We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful kitchen, remodeled bathrooms, wood floors and nice decor. Waking up in the master bedroom each morning was a treat - the view spectacular (in fact i used it as my phone wallpaper!) We watched the sunrise over the mountains laying in bed, it was breathtaking. The grounds are very nice as well & we grilled at the pool each night we were there. Never crowded & a good vibe. Our son loved having his own room that he could hear the ocean from. The condo had everything we could need, including bug spray and band aids! The owner, Eric was very easy to reach and communicate with. We visit Kauai every year and Princeville is our favorite - I would highly recommend this place to anybody!
Some highlights from this trip included snorkeling at Hideaways beach, lounging at anini beach, stand up paddle boarding up the Hanalei river, eating at Bar acuda (in Hanalei), our son's fav shave ice was next to Foodland mkt., pick up some fish at Hanalei Dolphin fish market & bring it back to the bbq grill by the pool & enjoy a cocktail in the hot tub - thats a vacation! ... with a family ;)

We stayed here in January with another adult couple and all highly recommend staying here. Great location in the gorgeous community of Princeville. Close to so many beaches, restaurants and activities. The view is stunning and can even be enjoyed while using the master bath shower! We just wish the balcony was on that mountain side of the unit. The windows are all nice and big though so plenty of opportunity to soak in the view. All of our questions were answered promptly we found the owners to be extremely helpful and really appreciated the extensive list of recommendations provided. All of the ones we tried out we loved. The renovations that were done to the unit are top quality, nothing was overlooked and everything in the unit is new. The owners have great taste for decorating. The unit is quite spacious, all the rooms have plenty of space even with a king bed in one room and two queens in the other. Affordable price for a luxury accommodation. Much nicer and more affordable than the well known hotels on the island and you have all the comforts of home. Loved the guitar for nights we stayed in, the indoor countertop grill for cooking and the bin full of beach gear saved us a lot of money. They really thought of everything. We can't wait to return.

I've stayed in several vacation rentals and this is one of the best! It's so nice and has really great amenities. It's got great décor and everything from the towels, lines & pillows is great quality. Not only is everything completely remodeled (new floors, kitchen, counters, bathrooms, tile, bedrooms) but it has everything you could need.
It was important for us to find a place where we could easily cook at home. The kitchen is well stocked (spices, cooking, baking tools, knives, serving platters, coffee maker,dishes, waffle maker & a griddle!)
This condo is great for a couple or a family. You can feel how much effort and love the owners have put into this place & I genuinely felt lucky to stay there. It's a nice size condo and has enough of everything to be really comfortable. Tons of towels, dishes, pillows, beach towels & gear (even boogie boards). I am a huge fan of the wi-fi and high def TV.
It was great to be able to do laundry, so we were able to pack light. Small washer and dryer so don't let the towels stack up too much! It works fantastic though.
There are 2 nice Bbq's at the very nice pool. We would take glasses of wine and our fresh fish that we'd pick up at the fish markets during the day and walk down to the BBQ and drink our wine and grill. There is a ton of plastic pool friendly dishes in the condo.
The owner provided a list of local fun stuff, beaches, fish & farmers markets and restaurants. (Bar acuda in Hanalei is amazing! Saw Eddie Veder from Pearl Jam there). The grocery store (Foodland) that's nearby has a great Poke counter with 10 different kinds of fresh poke each day.
We went to anini beach several times this trip (feels so private). We would use the cooler, chairs and towels from the Condo and hit a farmers market on the way for some beach treats. Kee (beginning of Napali Coast) and Tunnels are also epic beaches. This place is really perfect and the owners are SOO fantastic. I can't wait to stay here again.

This Condo is absolutely fabulous! The owners are amazing and have taken pains to make this a great place to stay in Kauai. The Condo far exceeded any expectations we could have had and the photos don't do it justice. Every morning we woke up and stood around the beautiful large marble kitchen island and took in the gorgeous mountains with waterfalls view to our left and the serene and inviting ocean view to our right! It doesn't get better than that! There are a lot of condos in Princeville -- some offer mountain views a few offer ocean -- but the owners made a wise purchase with this one because you get both! The condo is beautifully decorated and the owners thought of everything! I wish I had some of the kitchen extras they provide -- right down to a waffle maker (which makes delicious macadamia nut waffles and you can buy the mix at the nearby market). They put in marble counter-tops and high-end appliances in the kitchen and custom tile in the bathrooms. Then coupled this with the perfect antique'ish table, hutch, and decorations to give vacationers the amenities and comfort of home with the decor that reminds you that you are on vacation in Kauai! The owners also supply plenty of luscious towels, lots of cozy blankets (ocean breezes can get chilly), comfy beds, and everywhere they remind you that you are on vacation, so "Relax." We love Kauai and I will never stay anywhere else again! The location of the Condo is also perfect. It's very central so that you can easily go to Hanalei and hang out, watch the most spectacular sunset, or start a hike of the Napali Coast or go to Kiluea or Kapa'a or Wailua for great eateries, kayaking, and mixing with the locals. There is also this great little path that starts right across from the parking lot and takes you down to this secluded cove or you can walk 10 minutes to Queen's Bath, the market, or Hideaways.

Not only does this condo have great views from all windows but the care taken in furnishings and decorations made you feel right at home. The kitchen is very well equiped. We even did some xmas baking while there. It is centrally located in Princeville with easy access to a large array of beaches and just a five minute drive to Hanalei. There is also an assortment of beach toys and accessories for your use making a trip to the beach that much more fun! We will definately return to this beautiful condo the next time we visit Kauai!

Weather was the big draw to the vacation and it DID NOT disappoint. The weather was perfectly beautiful for the week I was there. Beach weather does it get any better? ;-)
Location is awesome -- surrounded a variety of activities : golf, hiking, walking, swimming, sun bathing, beach time, snorkeling, bike riding, and other amazing activities. The pool and hot tub on-site are both beautiful and well kept. This area is great to begin or end you day (or both).
Condo is absolutely beautiful, well maintained, and welcoming to visitors. The condo has all the comforts of being on the mainland, with the amazing views of Kauai!!! Waking up every morning to the view from the breakfast table and bedrooms is like waking up in heaven. EVERYTHING is fully functioning and updated.
Kitchen was THE nicest vacation kitchen I've stayed in. The fully functioning kitchen is highlighted by the fridge (with ice maker), granite counters (and middle island), sink (perfect for cooking and cleaning -- with a dish washer), and the TOP performing stove and oven. I did an abundance of cooking for the week and the kitchen was perfect!!!
The 2 Bedrooms are very cozy and comfy (family friendly). The master has a King size bed (extremely comfortable) and the guest room has 2 Queens size beds (in a very quiet setting). Each bedroom is accompanied by BEAUTIFUL and CONVENIENT bathrooms. Each of the bathrooms have GREAT SINKS and SHOWERS ! They were nicer than my home bathrooms at home.
The living room is the heart of the condo (located right with kitchen and dinning area -- with a deck also). I was very happy with the Condo layout because even while inside you can appreciate the beauty of the views. The owners have an excellent TV set up and radios. There is also a fold out sofa for more sleepers.
One hidden secret (sort of) is the Princeville is a "celebrity" hangout. While I was there we ran into a few celebrities around the Condo complex and around the island. As I was in the hot tub, Bethany Hamilton and her family were a family reunion and joined me in the hot tub... very cool experience! I also ran into Cito Gaston the former World Series Champion Manager of the Toronto Blue Jays. Both celebrity encounters with pleasant, surprises, and made my trip that much more memorable! We were told that Eddie Vedder is a local also (I wish I ran into him).
Overall, this was the BEST and most AFFORDABLE vacation condo I've stayed at and I'm looking forward to returning as soon as possible.

This was the nicest condo we've ever stayed in. We had to find somewhere to stay on short notice as we took advantage of some last minute cheap flights. We found this recently remodeled condo and were the first guests to stay in it according to the owner. The condo is absolutely beautiful and well equiped. The views are wonderful. Some mornings we had our coffee out on the lanai looking out at the ocean, and sometimes we had it at the kitchen table looking out at the spectacular green mountains. There were two waterfalls coming down the mountains that were gorgeous. We had the same great view from the master bedroom every morning when we'd wake up. We loved the entire North Shore area and would absolutely stay here again.
