Description from the owner
Why this home?
Renting a vacation home is a leap of faith. This is something we experienced for 10 years as we and another family returned to Kauai every August. Through trial and error we learned what was important to insure a great trip. Cleanliness was number one on our list. Comfort and a design that allows guests to be together, yet have their own space was important as well. And of course, being close to the most beautiful beaches and adventures on Kauai, was key to a solid vacation rental. Lastly we thought of every item we had rented or wished we had during our previous trips and then we supplied all those amenities and more.

When we arrived to this vacation house with 10 other employees, we were shocked at how much better this was than in the pictures. (no offense to the pictures)
We didn't do many of the guided tours because we wanted to do most of the excursions ourselves. It was nice having all the "equipment" in the garage for our use.
The only issue we had was the dryer. It stopped working. Glen (the owner) went out his way to make sure we were taken care of. Thanks Glen.
We are planning on coming back soon!
Thanks,

This trip was our second stay at hod. We really enjoyed our trip and the house was a big part of that. We went with two other family and had 5 children under the age of 11. After the long days at the beach, house is perfectly set up to allow the kids enough freedom (ping-pong and movie) but still close enough for the parents to keep an eye on them. The location is great with the many beaches close by and still being just a stone throw away from the grocery store, ice cream shop, etc. I can't speak highly enough of Glenn and Kim, If we ever had a question or concern they were right on top of it.
Thanks again. -

The House of Dreams exceeded all expectations. It is conveniently located near the beaches/small towns of the North Shore and a local grocery store, lighthouse, golf course & bike path. The house is unbelievable in terms of amenities: a patio with a view of the mountains; a large, well stocked kitchen; boogie boards, surf boards and bikes.
In addition, I'd highly recommend Belinda Colley (masseuse)for a Swedish or hot stone massage! -

Kim & Glenn were wonderful to work with and gave us information on things to do, good places to eat, and where we could buy groceries. The house was even better than we could have hoped for...wonderful space...room for everyone to sit on the lanai for morning coffee, eat in the kitchen/dining area or watch a video in the great room. The location was great...close to many of the things we wanted to do like go to the Kilauea Lighthouse, beaches and botanical garden tours. The house was absolutely delightful and the thing I liked best was the Smith Family Luau. A wonderful vacation!!!

This house is fantastic... we cannot wait to go back. We spent a week here with a group of close friends from Canada. The house is fully stocked with everything you need... Surf boards, bikes, snorkel gear, etc... Even a ping pong table. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet. Glenn was extremely helpful before, during and after our stay. Our group of friends booked two places while we were there... This one and another in Princeville. Everyone in the other house was quite jealous of those of us that were in this house. While the two places seemed comparable online, there was no comparison when we actually arrived. Next time I go back to Princeville and need a place that will accommodate several people I be staying here... no question.

The house had everything we needed, my daughter is a chef and very "kitchen picky" it came through for her. The house was so well stocked we lacked for nothing and having a couple of separate areas to relax in means a large group can find their own space. We also enjoyed the spacious lanai (and BBQ) - with views of the mountains. Thank you for making our vacation so comfortable and memory filled.

If you want luxurious, comfortable accommodations in a homelike setting centrally located to beaches, hiking trails, restaurants and grocery stores for your extended family stay then House of Dreams will meet your every expectation. We cooked dinner "in" every night and enjoyed the well appointed kitchen. Our family (of 13!) ages 18 months through 66 years enjoyed the many amenities from ping pong to stand up paddleboards and snorkeling equipment. The owners made us feel so welcome and made several arrangements for us for luaus, fishing trips, etc.
We are already planning our return trip!

We had another family join us in our first ever trip to Hawaii and we decided to book hod. It was an absolutely perfect experience!
Before our trip, we received excellent information from the owner on both the house, the rules of the house and tons of information on the area. The area in formation, including recommendations on everything from parks to beaches to restauraents, was extra helpful as this was our first trip to Kauai.
The house is beautiful and fully equipped for a great vacation. We literally used everything in there and it was awesome. The location is ideal as it is close to a grocery store for the times you want to cook in the amazing gourmet kitchen, but also close to great dining for the times you don't. There is a secluded beach within a short walk and several other beaches within a short bike/drive.
The house was clean and everything worked - not a single problem while we were there. There was plenty of room for the nine of us (4 adults and 5 kids). We have had one bed to spare.
The kids enjoyed the media room while we relaxed on the wonderful lanai after long days exploring the northern part of Kauai. We were able to do laundry while there, which meant packing fewer close and saving on airline luggage fees and we always had plenty of music thanks to the extensive iTunes collection they have for your use.
This really made for a perfect trip for us. We can't wait to plan our next trip! -

Our family ranged in age from 26-89 and the house offered something for everyone. We prepared most of our own meals and had so much fun cooking in the lovely kitchen, sipping wine on the deck, laughing around the beautiful dining table and playing endless games together. The beach toys were a real plus, as were the bikes. We appreciated being able to walk to the store for groceries and bike to the beach to snorkel. Glenn was very accommodating and helpful. We truly had a wonderful vacation!

We all (11 total) loved our stay at House of Dreams The home is beautiful, comfortable, they have everything you need and it's sparkling clean. We had our kids and grandchildren (18 months to 5 years) with us and we felt completely comfortable with them in this fantastic home.
Then there is the bonus of so many fun toys; surf boards, boogie boards, snorkel gear and bikes. The home has lots of towels and a fantastic laundry room to keep up with the wet swimsuits. For the little ones there was highchairs, cribs, beach toys, and children's bikes.
The kitchen is fantastic and well appointed. Everything anyone would need to make dinning in easy is in those beautiful cabinets. The microwave quit after the second day and with one short call to Glen a new one appeared on the counter the next day!
We have stayed at several rental locations on the Islands over the years and we would absolutely stay at here again!

Our family just spent two fabulous weeks at the House of Dreams on Kauai. The home is beautifully appointed and full of homey charm. Having the bikes and boogie boards, cards, board games, ping pong table and much more made our group of 8 adults happy and moving the whole time we were there. Glenn was always available and helpful for all our questions. We celebrated my husbands 80th birthday and Glenn helped me find a great photographer. The house made a perfect setting for many memorable pictures. The housekeeper was also available for anything required. Having plenty of room to spread out, lots of bedrooms and bathrooms, the perfect kitchen for 4 gourmet cooks, and a fabulous laundry room made this trip to Kauai our best ever and we all hope to return again soon.

Morning coffee on the luini, surfing in the am, hiking or snorkling in the afternoon, dinner for 11 at night at the house. Kids enjoyed their space down stairs with ping pong and gaming. Many bike rides to near by beaches or great views. Glenn help set us up with surfing lessons, luau, and the best zip line. It felt like we were at home not vacation. Ten days seemed to short.

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation here. I can't say enough about the house and the location. Love the north side of Kauai! Would never stay anywhere else. The house was fantastic. We always planned to go out to eat in the evening, but when we arrived back at the house, we didn't want to leave. It was hard to imagine a restaurant that could match the ambiance of the home, which is exactly what it feels like when you are there. Celebrating our 50th anniversary with our twelve family members of all ages was indeed a wonderful experience at the house of dreams. We enjoyed the many meals we prepared and ate in the well-equipped and spacious kitchen. Breakfasts on the lanai were delightful. We also found Glenn very responsive and appreciated and used the people he recommended for our anniversary dinner and our daily clean-ups. The one suggestion I would have is that a folding table and a couple more extra folding chairs would be useful for large groups. We were, however, quickly provided with an extra table and chairs when we requested them. Our family of all ages greatly appreciated the bikes and surfing equipment provided. The home added to making this a wonderful anniversary celebration for all.

Relax at House of Dreams
Newbury, MAHouse of Dreams - Even better than we expected!
Left on 07/25/2011 for a stay in July 2011
When we found House of Dreams on Vrbo, Glenn and Kim replied back very promptly. We were never left waiting for an answer to any question - even the name of a dentist in the Princeville area! Hod has everything a family needs for vacation, from a well-stocked kitchen to beach towels and boogie boards. We did not have to run to the store for anything except food!
When we first arrived at hod we followed Hawaiian tradition and took off our shoes. The cool, spotlessly clean ceramic tile floor made going barefoot a pleasure. The same with the hardwood floor of the stairs and kitchen area - just nice to walk on. We opened windows and let the trade winds blow through. The open-concept design and high ceilings add to the airy feeling and we were very comfortable.
Although a/C is provided, we did not need it.
We had the ultimate dining experience one evening with the cooking talents of Megan, a private chef. We had spoken with her about what we would like, and she went above and beyond to prepare a healthy, fresh, and delicious meal for a large group. After a day of snorkeling at Ke'e, we returned to have our dinner being prepared.
Morning coffee and reading on the lanai was a favorite time of day for the adults, while the kids played pingpong and had lots of board and video games to keep them occupied.
We ventured to many beaches, plus an afternoon at Queen's bath. Some days were for relaxing snorkeling (love the turtles!), other times we hit the surf for great boogie boarding and body surfing. A great hike is Kalalau Trail to Hanakapi'ai Beach. The Na Pali coast is unforgettable, and more can be seen by partaking in a guided kayak tour.
Princeville is a beautiful, active community and we felt very safe going for walks in the cooler evening.
Being from New England, we simply enjoyed the slower pace of Kauai. It is part of life in Kauai to be courteous and wait your turn to drive over the one-lane bridges. Slow down and enjoy the endless gorgeous views.

Left on 06/13/2011 for a stay in June 2011
This spacious and beautiful home had no surprises - earlier reviews and the website were totally accurate (I cannot stress this enough - you don't need to wonder at all!) - and yet the reality of the house and the north shore of Kauai were far more amazing then we anticipated. Even with several periods of intense rain, the home itself, and its wonderful lanai, met all of our needs. Glenn's suggestions and approach to addressing my every question and concern put our Kauai vacation over the top. My husband and I, and each of our sons and daughters-in-law, have different interests and inclinations, and all of us were totally thrilled. Princeville is very accessible to everything, and was a perfect center of operations for us. And then there's the house - The master bedroom and bath is to die-for, and the kitchen so much nicer than my own. Absolutely everything you could want is provided - even having more than 300 Hawaiian I-tunes on the computer. Hanalei and its restaurants, pineapples and papayas, fish and chowder from the Dolphin market, Paradise shave ice, nearby beaches, and just "vegging" on the lanai stand out. We enjoyed Tahiti Nui and the joyful people dancing. Glenn told me, and it's true, that the best things on Kauai are free - simply being there, with this magnificent home, is a dream-come-true, and we are planning our next trip already. Also found the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook very helpful. Frankly, I can't say enough - words and our photographs don't do justice to our overall experience. I choke up just thinking about it - and that we've been home for 2 days. It's very easy to fool yourself into believing you're in your own home, thanks to Glenn and Kim's hospitality, and leaving was one of the harder things we've had to do in a long time.

Our whole experience dealing with Glenn from the House of Dreams was a very positive and easy endeavour. From the initial booking of the home to arriving; every detail was documented and explained - the house was extremely organised and well equipped! The home has a definite 'wow' factor and as soon as you hit the door you know you're in for something special!
Although we preferred to organise our own day trips the service Glenn offers is a good one and is an added bonus to guests staying at hod. Joanna (the masseuse) is an absolute darling and her massages are tops!
We were celebrating my 50th birthday and with 7 adults. Everyone had their own space and never once felt cramped or deprived of privacy. Although being closer to the beach would of been a little more ideal, we didn't mind with all the equipment available to make our outings such a pleasure.
Hod is on an amazing island and a stunning location and
being in such a beautiful/comfortable home made our trip one we'll remember for a very long time to come.
Must do's?? Too many to mention, but try Kalalau Trail, Na Pali coast boat tour, Tunnels Beach, Safari Helicopter ride (awesome!) and try the Med Gourmet Luau for something not too big and over the top...Hamura's Saimin, Tahiti Nui for a good time w/live music in Hanalei! And the ginger margaritas at St. Regis! Shaka brah!

This was my first visit to Kauai, and I can't imagine having a better place to gather my family! This home handled us, our 4 kids, their 3 spouses, and two of the grandkids with ease. We never felt 'too close' for comfort, and yet we were together all the time. With the Ping-pong table, the wii, bikes and all the movies we had plenty to do in the evenings. The surfboards, boogieboards, long paddle boards, beach chairs, beach toys etc kept our time at the many beaches busy and enjoyable. From the computer loaded with music (Hawaiian and other), to the laundry room, to the lanai, the barbequer, and the top-notch kitchen tools- it was all wonderful! Beautiful, comfortable beds, media rooms and the wonderful yard all come together to make this a 'House of Dreams' that can become yours, even if it is for a short time. It will always be in my dreams!!! Every question was immediately answered, wether it be advice on where to eat, places to go, things to do, even where to buy groceries, whatever we needed was addressed. We had no problems at all in the home, everything worked perfectly! My advice: Let this House of Dreams become part of your reality!

While planning a trip for 4 couples we were amazed at how much there was to choose from. But then we stumbled upon hod. We just could not get over the effort that people put forth to write guest reviews about this home. We knew there was something unique and special about and our decision was made. From the moment we inquired we were treated to a high level of service and genuine "Aloha Spirit" by the owners, Kim and Glenn, that is just not commonplace any more. Quick responses, attentiveness and some incredible suggestions all were part of what was to be a most incredible 10 days on Kauai's beautiful north shore. The owners arranged for Pro Surfer Evan to meet us at the Pier with Standup Paddle-boards for our entire group. We also had a top notch dinner of Sushi and cooked fish prepared by hod's private chefs in the comfort of the home. The home itself was spacious and very well appointed. There was indirect lighting throughout and the kitchen was equipped with high end appliances and dinnerware. Comfortable Mattresses and fine linens were also provided. We used the bikes, boards and snorkeling gear and enjoyed nightly ping pong tournaments. Mornings and late afternoons were spent on the Lanai with waterfalls flowing on the mountains across the way. We couldn't have asked for more. Upon booking this home we were promised by the owners that our expectations would all be exceeded. Boy, was that an understatement. We would like to recommend this house to others traveling to Kauai. Kim and Glenn...we are forever gracious to you for sharing your home and your "Spirit Of aloha" with us. Jason, Dee and the gang...

Our 2nd stay in this luxury home was just as wonderful as it was the first, perhaps even more with the added ping pong table and stand up paddle boards.
We go to Kauai often and have rented several different properties and hod is by far the most luxurious, comfortable and is the best equipped house we have ever rented. It's not just the bikes, surfboards, boogy boards, sup's, snorkeling gear and the ping pong table, it's the inside of the house that also enhances the whole vacation experience. The kitchen is better equipped than our own home with the top of the line appliances and enough glasses, dishes and serving wear to have a party! I've never seen a house with better lighting than hod. Every switch has a dimmer and there is light virtually everywhere! The beautiful wood floors, to the simple but elegant furnishings to flat screens in every room to the spectacular view from the lanai to the surrounding neighborhood and proximity to shops, restaurants and beaches truly fits the name of House Of Dreams.
When I first found hod on Vrbo in 2008, wasn't sure what I was getting our family into. The pictures looked great, it had excellent reviews for a fairly new property, the location was good and the owner was very responsive. Still, one never knows what to expect when paying for something sight unseen. Collectively, it was a wow when we first walked through the door. Our 2nd stay, still a wow! We all hope to return for our 3rd wow stay soon!

Conifer, COWhat a great place!
Left on 12/29/2010 for a stay in December 2010
In just a few words... the hod is as great and fun as all the reviews indicate!
In more words... we went to Kauai to be married with our combined 6 adult kids and were looking for a home that would be both fun and a great environment to start our new lives as a larger family. On all fronts the hod was a hit. The neighborhood is great and is close enough to everything we needed (groceries, Hanalei, etc.). The house is (obviously) big... 5 bedrooms, 4 baths, etc. and was perfect when someone needed time alone but still had a very homey feel to it. The upstairs was awesome with an open kitchen, dining area, living room and large lanai and most of our family time was spent there. If there is something else needed to complete the kitchen, I can't think of it. And, I've certainly never experienced more songs on iTunes than Glenn has on the new Mac he put in. The master bedroom and bath are amazing but every room is high quality (and nearly every room has a ceiling fan, including the master bedroom closet). The decorations and attention to detail are superb (including an amazing array of lighting options) but the real fun starts with all the extras that are there at your fingertips... the iTunes selection, the surfboards / paddle boards / boogie boards / beach chairs / snorkeling gear / coolers, the bikes, ping pong, the movie selections in the media room, the games, etc. As the week rolled on, we really came to appreciate and enjoy being able to just go have fun with all of those instead of figuring out which of those to go buy / rent.
While were there, we had a couple of minor things come up that needed attention and Glenn was extremely responsive to answering our questions and, in one case, sending someone over (nearly immediately) to handle it. It became very obvious he was focused on us enjoying the home... and we certainly did!
Great place, great advice on things to do, great fun! Thanks, Glenn.Response from Glenn & Kimi - 12/30/2010

Glenn and Kim make every effort to ensure their guests are satisfied and happy. They called us and emailed us throughout our stay, and provided a very informative packet with recommendations prior to our stay. My family and I have stayed in several different vacation homes all over the country, and this was by far the most beautiful and well-cared for home we have ever visited. The kitchen is huge and very well-stocked. The bikes, boogie boards, snorkel gear and beach toys for the kids were all in great condition and came in very handy. We truly enjoyed this vacation and the opportunity to stay in such a lovely home. We recommend it without any reservation and hope to be able to stay in this dream home again. Thank you, Glenn and Kim, for an unforgettable vacation!!!

I cannot put into words how beautiful the House of Dreams is. My daughter was getting married in Kauai and we had 14 people going to be at this wedding and I was making arrangements for them all. When I came across the House of Dreams the pictures were phenominal but when we walked in the doors it was even more beautiful then the pictures. The kitchen was very spacious and had everything we needed and more, there is absolutely nothing you could not find in the kitchen. We sometimes had 5 or 6 people cooking in the kitchen and there was plenty of room for everyone. I had my doubts of so many people from two different families living under the same roof for one week, but the house is so spacious and very well thought out that you could always go someplace and be by yourself, whether it was the lanai, the yard, the tv room, for a bike ride or even just a 10 minute stroll down the road to the ocean. My daughter and her fiance (husband now) said that they could not have planned a more beautiful wedding place and the house was just better than anything they could of ever imagined. We spent many hours on the bikes, boogie boards, using the snorkling equipment, just sitting in the lawn chairs at the ocean, and the children played many hours with all of the sand toys.
Glenn and Kim you gave us memories that we will never forget and all of the information and adivce you gave us was very much appreciated. You made planning this trip so easy and enjoyable and we definatley will be back in the near future. Thanks again for everything.

I was expecting pretty nice accommodations, but this place blew me away. Beautiful. Spacious. Clean. Well maintained. Great location. Close to several beaches. Overflowing with amenities. I could go on and on. It had it all. I was responsible for finding a place for my wife and I, plus 6 of our friends. Everyone was so pleased. The only drawback for me is I'm afraid they are going to want to put me in charge of finding the lodging for our future trips together. Glenn was so helpful, always very responsive to my numerous pre-visit questions. He also sent a very helpful packet of information several weeks in advance of our trip. I usually don't like to vacation in the same area more than once, but this is one place I definitely want to return to.

San FranciscoFanstastic Stay at House of Dreams in Princeville!
Left on 10/06/2010 for a stay in September 2010
Six friends and I just concluded a week-long stay at House of Dreams, and our accommodations were perfect! As in most things, the photos on the internet do not do the home justice - it was sparkling clean on our arrival, the bedrooms and bathrooms were pristine, and the kitchen and common areas were sparkling. The hardwood floors shone and were in great condition, and some of the light fixtures were so beautiful that we never felt like we were staying in a boring rental-only house. The common areas were a perfect fit for our large group - the kitchen, dining area and living room are fully open with barstools, chairs and plenty of furniture so we could all relax, cook and socialize comfortably before and after our outdoor adventures. The patio/lanai also had plenty of furniture for us to all eat breakfast outside every morning. Speaking of breakfast, the kitchen was very well appointed with high-end appliances (including a blender and mini-food processor) and plenty of pots and pans and tools. The beds and bedding were comfortable, there were plenty of extra towels (bath and beach), and the washer and dryer had plenty of capacity to handle the frequent loads of beach towels. We also loved the contents of the garage - bikes (which we frequently used to bike around Princeville), more than enough beach chairs, and lots of other beach and ocean gear. Finally, Glenn was incredibly helpful and responsive during our stay. We emailed him a question about operating one of the appliances, and he responded promptly and even sent out his handyman the next morning to help us figure it out. After that, he recommended a paddle boarding guide and surfing instructor (we highly recommend Evan!), and when we told him a couple of us were preparing for a hike to Hanakapei falls the next day, he emailed back with helpful details and recommendations. You will not be disappointed with House of Dreams!

My family and I stayed at the House of Dreams for two weeks in august, and I was a divine experience. The owners are so attentive; from booking the house to recommending beaches to visit and places to eat-everything they suggested was spot on. The house is gorgeous, it is a perfect vacation home-well organized with beautiful amenities and conviently located to town or beaches or the park. My only regret is that I could not spend my entire month in Kauai at this residence, but I am so lucky to have resided there for a magical two weeks.

My husband and I stayed at the House of Dreams for 10 wonderfull and amazing days. It was our first anniversary and I was 5.5 months pregnant at the time. This house is truly amazing! It is beautifully decorated...had all the comforts of home and then some! The house has everything you would ever need in life or on vacation! I could have lived in the Master bedroom! the master bathroom was unbelievable with the double shower and jacuzzi! We live in Manhattan so the MB and Mbthrm alone was bigger then our apt! ha! state of the art kitchen was amazing and being pregnant it was great to be able to cook and eat when I wanted to! there was every pot or pan or dish you would need! there was a great bbq on the lanai which we used and spent every morning on drinking our coffee looking at the mountains and waterfalls. we packed up our rent a car everyday with all the beach gear you would ever need! we had great beach chairs, coolers, umbrellas, snorkle equipment, boogie boards and surf boards. unfortunately while we were there, there were no waves but we were prepared everday for them! the house is in a great location and we were at a different beautiful beach within 10 minutes everyday! and the island isn't that big so we even spent a day where we drove to the south shore and went to some beaches there as well! I highly recomend the house of dreams to anybody! the owner Glen really thought of everything from the most comfortable bed to state of the art everything! we definitely want to come back every year and next year with our baby and some other family members to fill the house! there was a great media game room, ping pong, wii, play station...they really have every comfort in the world! I hope that we can truly make this an annual trip! Thanks Glan and Kim for an amazing house to vacation in!! We will be back!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Glenn....
I inquired with Glenn for a beachfront home back in March. That home was booked and he referred me to House Of Dreams. I was reluctant to book a home not on the beach but after reading so many outstanding reviews on their VRBO listing I acquiesced. I am so pleased I made that decision. After renting luxury homes for years on Kauai we just could not get over the details and level of comfort this home provided our group of 11. Everything we could possibly need and more was provided. Everything worked perfectly. The home was located close to all the great beaches and shopping. The most amazing thing was there were no mosquitos or insects in this house, something I have never seen before. We stayed for 10 nights and during that time hiked to Hanakapi'ai, snorkeled Tunnels Beach, Paddle Boarded in Hanalei and used their private chef Megan who prepared us an outstanding seafood extravaganza. Glenn and Kim were always available if we needed suggestions which even with our prior knowledge of the north shore, we found helpful. They sent us to a few secret spots we had not known about in the past. We would recommend HOD to others for family trips. Once again Mahalo for sharing your lovely home with us.

Renting House of Dreams was the best decision I made in terms of our family vacation on the north side of Kauai. The quality of this home starts with the owners Glenn & Kim. From the ease of dealing with them to the helpful booklet on Kauai that they provided before our vacation, they really know how to help you prepare for your trip. When we arrived at the home, it was beautiful and immaculate. The pictures don't do it justice - and Glenn - you need to add one more picture of the great view of the mountains/waterfalls from the lanai. It was great! The high quality of the home is apparent as you walk through, and there is absolutely nothing left out in terms of what you might want or need. The finish out is outstanding, and with five bedrooms, we had plenty of room to spread out. Not to mention all the sports and beach equipments. Five bikes, surfboards, 4 boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, coolers, etc. You are absolutely covered. There was one minor request I had during our stay which I had emailed Glenn...and within 15 minutes, he had me on the phone and had the request covered. You just don't get that kind of service anymore. Can't tell you how impressed I was with that and everything else. You're less than 5 minutes from the St. Regis Princeville resort, where we had professional pictures on the beach and then attended a dinner show overlooking Hanalei Bay. Fantastic! And, you're less than 10 minutes from the town of Hanalei where we spent a lot of time eating, shopping and of course playing on the beach. I highly recommend other fun activities on Kauai like a helicopter tour (Blue Hawaiian is the best), tubing (Backcountry adventure) and checking out all the beaches. H.O.D. was the perfect home base for us, and if we ever return to Kauai - this is the place we'll stay again. I highly recommend this home. Stay here - you won't be disappointed, I guarantee it. Mahalo!!!

Seattle, WAMy new home away from home!
Left on 06/23/2010 for a stay in May 2010
My family of 4 and I stayed at the House of Dreams home in Princeville, Kauai the last week in May. When we arrived, we opened the door and could not believe the beautiful home we were going to stay in for the next several days. It had top of the line everything throughout the house. The big LCD high def TV screens, the furniture, the cookware, the bathrooms (master bath is to die for) even the lighting in the home was amazing. The fabulous kitchen with top of the line appliances and thick slab beautiful granite was even big enough to accomodate both my husband and I cooking and my mother-in-law, and that says a lot. Even the budding was luxurious- I don't know the threadcount of the sheets, but it felt like egyption cotton with 800 thread count. So soft, and the beds were very comfortable. Individual air conditioning in every room! The whole house was spotless... no dirt anywhere, everything super clean, windows even spotless.
In the garage is an assortment of toys- bicycles (and locks) for every size, boogie boards, surfboards, coolers, lots of snorkle gear, even a ping pong table. The inside of the house has xbox and Wii, hundreds of movies to play on the big screen media room, Ipod docking station, a Mac computer to use with high speed internet... they even have huge lush beach towels with all types of sunscreen. A full size washer/dryer lets you bring 1/2 the clothes you normally would, since you can do a wash when you run out. Cleaning detergent is provided, which makes it nice that you don't have to do a store run.
We would gladly stay here again, we would absolutely recommend it to our family and friends, we already have in fact. It is the best value on the island by far.
Thank you Glenn and Kim! You made our vacation awesome!

The House of Dreams is everything it is advertised to be - a beautiful home with owners who have thought of everything to make your vacation rental experience easy and worry free. We loved being able to wake up on our first morning on the island and grab snorkel equipment and a few beach chairs, pack a cooler and head for the beach. Everything was provided at the hod, and we didn't have to spend our precious vacation time taking care of it. Owners are happy to provide recommendations on restaurants, beaches, activities, etc, even assisting with the arrangements if necessary. Enthusiastically recommend this rental to anyone looking for a wonderful and relaxing vacation experience!

This house was amazing. We had 8 adults and 2 children (4 and 2 years). The house was very comfortable and the perfect place for everyone to stay together. We all had very comfortable and private rooms, as well as bathrooms (the master bedroom/bathroom is exceptional). The house has a lot of room for everyone just to hang out and relax, eat, stay up to talk, and much more. It has everything that you need for your vacation; bikes, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, etc. The kids had a great time and it was nice to have things for them to use while we were at the house. The kitchen is amazing with lots of room and great appliances. We spent a lot of time upstairs eating, talking, relaxing or just having drinks on the patio. I wish we could just visit every other week! The house is centrally located to most everything on the north side of the island. We played golf, snorkeled, went to the beach, fished, hiked and more. It only takes about 45 minutes to get to the south side which is great if you want to see that side. The house couldn't be any better for a family get together unless it was actually on the beach itself. The amenities, location, comfort, cleanliness, layout, and everything was perfect! It was a trip of a lifetime for our family, and we don't know if we will ever have the opportunity to have memories like that again. I am so glad we selected this house, as it will always be cherished by all of us...

I knew flying from Montana to Kauai was not going to be easy. Boy was I right! It started with landing unexpectedly in Salt Lake City due to a snowstorm which delayed us one day. Upon arrival to Kauai, my husband lost his wallet. Needless to say, our spirits were beaten down. As we drove from the airport to the House of Dreams, I started to think the long lines in Disneyland should have been our vacation of choice. That vision quickly evaporate as we pulled into the driveway. It was just getting dark. A few lights left on welcomed us like a warm beacon. As we entered, my family sqealed with excitement as they explored each wonderful room. There was nothing average about this house. Everything was exceptional from the furniture to bedding to appliances to the dishes and utensils. It was very clean and maintained and was easy to see that the owner of this home loved and cared as if they lived here everyday. I have stayed in many vacation homes, and none compare to this one. Absolutly nothing is overlooked and if it isn't in the house, you probably don't need it! If you are someone hesitant to rent the House of Dreams, I can say with 100% honesty, you won't be sorry you did. Compared to other homes on Kauai, it is priced fair, if not better. You will look forward to coming back there each afternoon all sandy and sunkissed, and there will be many days you will just want to stay there, watch movies & barbeque on the lanai while watching the sunset. Aside from the wonderful accomodations, Glenn hooked us up with Megan, a personal chef who came to cook dinner for my husbands birthday. It was the best meal we ate on the island. Glenn helped us decide what to bring, where to eat and which beaches to visit. He even went to the market for us before we got there so my kids would have milk and cereal to eat in the morning and my husband and I could share a glass of wine when we arrived! Who does that, I ask? The House of Dreams, that's who!

House Of Dreams was everything we were promised and so much more. We
came in just after the new year with a group of 10 people that consisted of
Grandparents, Parents and our adult and teen children. We arrived in the
evening and were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful indirect lighting.
Having the AC on for us was a nice touch. You can tell much thought and
care went into preparing this outstanding vacation rental. The photos on
VRBO could not have prepared us for the quality of HOD. Perhaps the
owners should have the house photographed by a professional because the
pictures pale in comparison to the real thing. The north shore of Kauai was
spectacular. We hit almost every beach during our 10 day stay. Hanalei Bay
was our favorite and the walk from the house to Anini through the tunnel of
trees was our second choice. We utilized the wonderful kitchen most nights
and found HOD to be very well laid out so the youngsters and us had tons
of space to do our own thing. Only we took control of the Nintendo Wii
several times during our stay. Prior to arrival we were nervous about the
unknown of a vacation rental, but now we can comfortably recommend
House Of Dreams to all. Thank you so much, Glenn and Kim for sharing
your lovely home with us. Kim & John D- Seattle WA
