Manhattan, MT, United StatesReally nice house, great neighborhood!
Left on 03/20/2013 for a stay in March 2013
The house is larger than it looks and is in very good condition. In a nice neighborhood with lots of interesting plant life, walking distance to beaches. The linens and beds are really in nice condition, and the garage is a bonus. Remax was very easy to work with. We had a family of 5 adults and one baby, house easily accommodated us. I would definately choose this house again if I were to return with my family. Kitchen was large and pretty well stocked, we did all our cooking in house and only noticed that there could have been more utensils and bowls, but like I say we cooked all meals in for 10 days. Overall this is a fantastic house to vacation in with beautiful views!

Davis, California, United StatesKolepa Kai Review, 10 nights
Left on 06/10/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The location of the house was great and we had no problem with the management company. The only negative was the stained toilet seat, which was pretty bad in the second floor master bathroom and all the gecko droppings left daily on the walls, sinks, and counters of the same bathroom. Saw a lot of baby geckos (dead and alive) and a few adults, mainly upstairs. No problems with the first floor.
The propane tank to the bbq ran out on our second day but was refilled the next day.
A note on the fridge says garbage pickup is Thursday and to place cans out Wednesday night. No pickup on Thurs. Also, another note on wall says pickup is Sunday. A little confusing.
We're used to staying at Waipouli Beach Resort and wanted to try something different. Loved the privacy and spacious house and lanai. Would stay here again and recommend to friends if the gecko problem and toilet seat was resolved. -

We stayed at Kolepa Kai for a week. Generally, the house is in good condition. The porches and the hot tub are very nice. Being on our honeymoon, we had been looking forward to staying in the nice master suite. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we found 6 or 7 geckos in the bathroom and closet along with gecko feces all over the walls and ceiling. A person did come to clean the bathroom, but there was still a large number of geckos always present in the bathroom and we did not feel comfortable staying in the suite as there is no door separating the bedroom from the bathroom. When we complained to the rental company we felt we were treated rudely and told that this is just part of living in a tropical environment and that no accommodation would be made except maybe spraying pesticides or moving to a resort property which would cost more money. We have stayed in many rustic tropical houses and always come across an occasional lizard, spider, etc., but this is clearly a bigger problem than that and we were offended by the dismissive attitude of the rental company and the fact that is was a reoccurring problem that hadn't been fixed. In the end, we did come to an agreement, but it really started our honeymoon off to a bad start - fighting with the rental company and having to stay in much less desirable room in the house.

Really nice location, great space inside, well stocked and I appreciated Angela and Tammy's organized, friendly manner. The early morning golf course maintainence equipment is a bit loud and startling on the first night but then we got used to it.

This is my family's second stay at Kolepa Kai - and there most likely will be a third, a fourth.etc...stay. Great location. The lanais are huge and a nice place to relax and watch the golfers which is good comedy relief. Its very quiet at night. Access to the garage was nice, especially with the surfboards and SUPs. My son enjoyed the hot tub. The living room downstairs was a nice playroom.

More than met expectations. The decks looking over fairways and great privacy added something special to this property.
Kitchen well-equipped. Snorkel gear getting tired. Only issue we had was keysafe at front wouldn't work upon arrival. Apparently property manager had changed and communicated two days prior via email. I would have appreciated phone call message instead because I didn't access email those two days prior to departure. -

The only negative comment I would have is the gecko droppings on the walls and in the light fixtures in the master bathroom. We didn't mind the gackos. Other than that it was wonderful! Beautiful location and lovely home.

Great house in an excellent location on the nicest side of Kauai. House was nicely equipped with gear and sundries for our week long stay. Small shopping center with great little grocery store nearby. Good food and more shopping 10 minutes away in either Kilauea or Hanalei. We were sorry to leave. We will be back and next time we will stay longer.

I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a home to rent while in Princeville,
The accomodations were very nice, clean and in good shape. We had full use of the garage, lots of beach equipment boogy boards etc. We loved the views of the mountains and golf course from the decks. The vacation staff was very helpful to us as well.
Thanks for a wonderful stay. -

My 6-six-year old daughter summed it up by saying 'wow!' upon entering the house. The house felt like a home that we quickly moved into. We enjoyed the hot tub every day, expecially with such fabulous views. The two lanais were perfect for relaxing on and taking in the view. The house was obviously designed to accomodate excellent views of the surrounding mountains. The location was fabulous. We were able to walk down to Hanalei Bay by going through the resort at the end of the street. The house was well stocked with all that we needed, including snorkelling gear in many sizes. Our family of 5 slept on the lower level (2 bedrooms and living room: 1 king, 1 queen, pull-out sofa bed) while the grandparents made use of the fabulous master suite. Each bedroom had a door opening onto a lanai.
We would highly recommend this house to other families. We have rented 3 different houses on Kauai and this was our favourite and best stocked. However, if you enjoy sun in the winter you will have a bit of a drive to get to the more sunny side of the island and the port (if you plan to go on a boat tour to the Napali coast).
We balanced our vacation by renting a house in Poipu and then in Princeville allowing us to thoroughly explore each side of the island and minimize travel time. We would definately book this house again! -
Santa Barbara, CAPleasant stay in beautiful Princeville
Left on 10/04/2008 for a stay in September 2008
After having stayed once before in Kauai in a condo, Kolepa Kai far exceeded our expectations. The set up of the house was ideal for multiple adult couples (my husband and I and his parents) with separate lanais and living room areas for when we wanted privacy but plenty of seating for us all to sit together to have dinner or watch tv. Sitting on the upstairs lanai while it rained or to watch the sun set over Hanalei Bay are some of my favorite memories of this trip.
My only criticisms are that some of the screen doors were broken (the mesh was split on the front door and one of the upstairs back doors had a broken lock on the screen), some amenities (namely extra toilet paper and trash bags) were not where they should have been according to the re/max info left on the kitchen bar, and the mattresses were a bit worn out. These factors however did not detract from the house as a whole but are the reason I would not rate the property's general condition as a 5. The only reason I would not rate the property as a 5 on cleanliness is the inevitable gecko "leavings" found daily in the master bedroom bathroom, and that the kitchen lacked a sponge or cleaning wipes to maintain cleanliness during our stay - we left both behind for the next guests. Overall however the house was very clean and tidy upon our arrival.
Thank you for a wonderful stay and for an easy reservation process. -
Dallas, TXAn awesome place for vacation!!!!!
Left on 09/23/2008 for a stay in September 2008
Kolepa Kai was a fantastic place to stay & I would highly recommend it!! I've been to Kauai twice now - once at the Grand Hyatt on the south shore & now in the house in Princeville. The best beaches are on the North Shore along with some of the most amazing views! Staying at Kolepa Kai was like a home away from home - very comfortable... just perfect for a family vacation or even a romantic get away for 2 (although the house is huge)! The staff at Re/Max was very friendly & helpful. Most of the excursions depart from or are on the South side near Poipu, so you have a drive every time you want to do that, but well worth it!! You won't regret staying here! We loved it and will be back next year!
