Description

Chalet Leslie is a charming property located in a quiet part of Morzine, yet still only few minutes 'level' walk to the village centre. The slopes and lifts to the rear of the property will allow you to ski right back to the door (conditions permitting), whilst in summer it is ideally situated for biking and walking.

The chalet has fantastic views of the mountains and Prodain valley, whilst the terraced garden and elevated wooden deck enjoy a sunny disposition.

Apartment Details:

Ground Floor Aparment, comfortably sleeping 4 +2 people. Freshly decorated in a tasteful style with fitted kitchens and wooden furniture, giving the apartment a cosy and welcoming feel.

Layout consists of a shower room and toilet; double bedroom, bunk room, a spacious main room with kitchen/dinner, lounge area and separate area with a double bed sofa, direct access to the terrace garden.

There is free wi-fi and parking at the chalet, plus secure storage for skis, boots and bikes in the cellar.

“Good location”

We went to ski so I’ll cover this first. This apartment is well located to walk to the centre and the Pleney cable car, which takes about 10 mins. If there is plenty of snow skiing back to a few metres of the door is possible although that does mean skiing down a lane which is used by traffic. Skiing out requires a bit of a trek uphill and skiing across to the nearest draglift to get enough elevation to get to the cable car. We hired equipment from the shop recommended by the apartment and stored them there which I think was a better idea. If you do have your own equipment there is excellent secure storage in the cellar. The nearest supermarket Carrefour can be reached in about 5 mins by a steep path. However, when covered with snow and ice, this is very treacherous, as the chalet info mentions! The apartment itself is pleasant, the open plan living and kitchen area is spacious and has great views. Although it can accommodate 6 people I would say 4 is the comfortable limit, the second bedroom, with bunks is more or less a corridor on the way to the bathroom. The sofa bed is as comfortable as they usually are, and the double bed is a little small for two people. The kitchen is basic with a hob and microwave, no oven or dishwasher and there is no washing machine. The cutlery was a bit grubby when we arrived and there are a few pots and pans, although the frying pan looked if it had been used in a fight! There was plenty of crockery. The apartment was warm and we often had the radiators switched off. The TV only picks up French channels although it does have hdmi input which could be connected to a laptop and there is a DVD player. We were supplied with plenty of information about the apartment and the key pickup was easy. Overall I would say the apartment was value for money but could do with a little refurbishment.
