Beautifully restored, 3 bedroom 19th century property with stunning views of the Alps, private garden and pool located in the middle of the Luberon – ideal for relaxing, exploring and sport activities.
Hard to find a better place to relax. Montjustin has 54 inhabitants, no through car traffic, no noise and no pollution. In the village there is a small culture club organizing weekly events.
La Fenice is the original “mas” which has been carefully restored and tastefully decorated, with a stone fireplace and terracotta floor tiling throughout. The villa and the grounds, at the top of the village (the lane stops just past your back door) with incredible views of the Luberon national park were part of the old castle compound . The large garden opens into a panoramic view of the Luberon and the Alps. At an altitude of 600m, the nights in Montjustin are clear, beautiful and comfortable, even in the warmest summer days.
Two interconnecting stone vaults (wonderfully cool in summer) give the house a unique character. The kitchen, sited into one of them, has all modern amenities. The second stone vault is a combined living/dining room with open fireplace. Behind the kitchen there is a huge utility room.
There is ample living space. In addition to a combined living/dining room with open fireplace on the ground floor and a self-contained sitting or play area in the extension, there is a big upstairs lounge, also with Provencal fireplace, picture windows and doors on to one of the spacious terraces.
Outside, the quarter acre (1000 sq. m) garden offers panoramic views over the beautiful Luberon countryside and the Alps. It contains a 8 x 4m landscaped, floodlit pool with night blanket, surrounding terraces and plentiful garden furniture.
The villa includes three double bedrooms (one with bathroom and toilet en suite), a second fully equipped bathroom, two sitting rooms and vaulted kitchen and dinning room.
There is ample living space with a generous upstairs lounge, featuring a Provencal fireplace and picture windows overlooking the valley below, opening into one of the two spacious terraces with wonderful views (in particular the sunset!). A double bedroom reached via the lounge has an en suite bathroom with a WC. An additional WC is also on this floor.
On the ground floor there is an additional sitting or play area. A double bedroom is next to the sitting area. A third bedroom with two beds is on the first floor with a roofed private terrace overlooking the pool and access to the main terrace. A bathroom with a WC serves these three rooms, thus completing a self-contained unit.
The kitchen, sited into one of the two interconnecting stone vaults (beautifully cool in summer) has lots of character. It features directional spotlighting, fitted cupboards, fridge, dishwasher, breakfast bar, indoor barbecue, oven, microwave, gas and electric rings, toaster and coffee maker.
Behind the kitchen there is a huge utility room with sink, washing machine and pool equipment – everything a family needs for a comfortable holiday.
Outside there is an 8 x 4m landscaped, floodlit pool with night blanket, surrounding terraces and plentiful garden furniture including a mobile barbecue - perfect for taking advantage of the many beautiful sunny days enjoyed in the area. In addition, there are two spacious terraces at first floor level, one facing north, and one facing south.
The villa also includes telephone and electrical heating with individual heaters in the rooms.
For your leisure you'll find TV, DVD, satellite TV (UK Sky, French and European), radio, stereo system, CD player and books.
To stay in touch with the world you will also find a wireless high-speed internet connection. Sorry, you need to bring your own laptop - the set-up is fast and painless.
