Description
The villa
Il Monaco is a confortable two level villa with plenty of space both inside and outside.
The villa has been renovated these days and has all brand new equippements (air conditioners, washing machine, dishwasher, TV etc.)
At the street level you have the al fresco bedroom (a), a small toilet with washbasin and a porch with astonish view on the bay.
The porch has an ectrified tent for the sun.
At street level means you have no steps to get in. The entrance is just on the street.
Here you have a private parking optional (10-15€/day)
At the lower level you have two bedrooms: one double (b) and the other twin (c). We can convert the twin beds in one double, if needed.
One full bathroom.
Than you have a large kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, boiler, oven, TV and, I think, all you need.
The kitchen open on the terrace with a patio equipped with a table, chairs and barbeque, where it's great to have a front sea dinner.
Close to the kitchen there is a small living room.
All the rooms on this level are on the large sea front terrace.
Few steps down, let's say five, and you are in the garden solarium with lemon trees, warm water shower, round rocky table. That's great too.
In the garden you have the washing machine corner.
From the garden through a "The Romantic Path To The Sea" (about 150 steps), you'll get the rocky beach which is a private platform on the sea shared only with other villas of the same family.
The villa position
Il Monaco is about 900mt from the small village Minori and strategically positioned on the Amalfi Coast to easy enjoy all the turistic places.
In the delicious village of Minori you will found all you need: restaurant, bar, bank, shops, groceries and, of course the beautifill beach on the bay.
You can get there with ten minutes walk, by car or by three bus stops.
The bus stop is 50 mt from the villa and connect Minori as far as Amalfi (3km), Ravello (6km) etc.
From the wharf, daily boats connect Minori with Amalfi, Positano, Capri Island and others.

Response from the owner Robert, I know that all the problems you experienced were disappointing, particularly on holiday when everything should be perfect. For sure I suppose what most made you so upset, and I agree, is how all those setbacks lined up in so few days. Such an unlikely situation never happened before. Unfortunately, problems may happen over time but we are always committed for the best of our guests. I’m happy you appreciated our two hours intervention time on the Christmas day. I know that on some days with heavy traffic we may have noise at the street level bedroom. Some previous guest’s review, not so many indeed, just noticed that. However, the uniqueness of the area is just that narrow street which runs along the coast line, close to the rocks, projected to the ocean. That said, we are going to have some maintenance: change the window and the entrance door, which may the main source of noise. To be honest, we resisted over time to these changes to save the ancient feeling of the place. I’m sorry for all the power and w-fi shut down, what the technicians told me is that those days we had very bed weather, kind of storm, and that could have caused problems to the power network. In any case, we started an in deep check of all the electric features and power line in the villa. We’ll even check the centralized heater system, however, Il Monaco has one thermostat to set the villa’s temperature. May be it was set at too high temperature. If you turn half way the valve of the heater in the bedroom, the temperature eventually should slow down. Any case, each bedroom has an additional free standing air conditioning, warm and cold. I hope that you could have the chance to be back at Il Monaco in the future and get a better memory of it. Anna & Oscar
