Nice house but issues
We had many leaks in the house when it rained including raining on our heads as we slept and rain coming through the middle of the living room. Also, I was never told that our view would be mostly of new construction. The layout of the house was nice. More...

Thank you for your review.
We are sorry that your vacation was impacted by the 8 inches of rain that fell on St. John on the third day of your stay, and continued throughout the week. The heaviest rains can often cause new leaks in villas that may not have had them previously. As soon as we were made aware of the leaks we dispatched our maintenance staff to patch the leaks.
We are also very sorry that the view of the Pond Bay Development was a negative for you as well. Please know that there was never any intentional effort to mislead you. We make every effort to explain to all guests that there is construction in the area.
It should be noted that Crystal Seaview has set a very reasonable rental rate for 2009 due to to the proximity to the construction site. We are very sorry if this was not made entirely clear when you booked your stay.
The resort is expected to be open in December 2009 so future guests should not be affected.
Thank you again. We look forward to welcoming you back to St. John with better weather and under better circumstances.
Crystal Seaview -- Great for a large family
The service from the Catered to... was great. We arrived at different times had rentals to deal with and a crazy schedule. They accommodated it all.
The home was great for the eight of us -- 6 adults and two toddlers. The bedroom layout was a little odd in that you had to walk through a bedroom to get into the bathrooms, but that worked out OK with the kids. The villa was roomy, attractive and clean with a groad view of Chocolate Hole and peeks of Great Cruz Bay and the Caribbean Sea to the south. Unfortunately work was in full swing at Pond Bay below us, but it really didn't spoil it for us. They weren't that noisy and they took the weekend off. It'll look fine when it's done.

Paradise
We stayed here for a week with our 4 children and a friend. We were greeted at the ferry by a wonderful woman (Fran I think??) who took us to the villa. The villa was spotless, had a kitchen I am jealous of, and very comfortable beds. It was very child friendly, with gates and fences by the stairs and decks. It was convenient to Cruz Bay and the restaurants, and most importantly a quick ride to the north shore beaches. We have been to St John at least a dozen times and this was one of our favorite villas we have stayed in to date. More...

Great family vacation at the Crystal Seaview!
Our family greatly enjoyed our stay at the Crystal Seaview in May of 2007. The house was very nice and had a good layout for a family to spread out and have room to separate, or to all hang out together in the main living area/open kitchen and deck areas. The decks were great for relaxing and cooking on the grill, and our kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool! The house had a great vacation feel to it, with fun paint colors and use of stonework inside.
