I cannot think of a better location and the size of the complex is perfect. The onsite amenities are very good, pool, recreation room, etc. Parking was not an issue and the onsite staff are very friendly. The condo itself was okay, but it is in need of some updating. A bathroom ceiling tile (yes the old fashioned T-Bar) fell out while my daughter was showering and the vertical blinds kept falling out; and the unit had a dank smell, maybe due to the building's age or proximaty to the ocean. It was just felt old and dark. Having said this however, the location did in part make up for the condos shortfalls (somewhat). Tiling the floors and updating the bathroom would go a long long way. I had roughly ten days to research and put together a last-minute trip to Maui for me, my husband, and our 2 year old. I really felt as though I was taking a giant gamble, as I knew nothing about Maui. I can't tell you how lucky I felt that I chose the Maui Kai, in particular, Condo 108. That it was right on the beach provided so much ease for us-- my daughter woke up each day saying, "Ocean, ocean." We met lovely families who were staying in the area, and it was just perfectly located for the slow beach days we craved. The condo itself is lovely and comfortable, and the kitchen is ridiculously well stocked with any bowl or utensil or pot you could want. It enabled us to have tremendous freedom in our day. I would recommend the condo to anyone-- it was perfect and we loved our stay.

We stayed here in September and we are still talking about the wonderful time we had. The condo is even better than the pictures. We will be staying here on our next vacation to Maui.

When we arrived there was a beautiful basket of fruit and candy to welcome us. It was a lovely touch.

But the VIEW was the best part, it was just breath taking, I can still see the ocean in my minds eye as I write. To wake up to that view was amazing. You just open the door and you are on the beach! The resort next door was a nice place to go for morning coffee or even breakfast and dinner. We would stop there in the morning before our walk on the beach.

The condo was perfect and there was a book filled with information about the area, places to eat, where to get groceries, entertainment, just everything you would need to get around.
