The place was clean, well appointed and has a really nicely laid out floorplan. Awesome lanai with perpetual ocean breeze. Nice beaches, close to everything yet tucked away for some privacy.
The only thing we won't miss are the noisy roosters, but even they became tolerable after a day or 2 in that environment!
Great private condo at a reasonable price. Highly recommend! |

Nice house! We shared with another couple, and there was plenty of separation
and privacy. Before choosing this house my wife and I did a lot of research on
condos on Kauai, including some of the two and three story apartment-like
ones being advertised elsewhere. One night we went for a walk along the path
behind our house and walked past a large condo complex we had previously
considered. What a relief we chose Moana Kai Beach House! The poor folks we
saw through their sliding glass doors in their tiny little living rooms... that
could have been us!

I stayed in the home with 5 other people. My wife, my mother-in law, My best friend his wife and son. We had a blast. The property is beautiful and spacious. We were all very comfortable and loved the hot tub and cooling pool. We were able to see the sunrise every morning and were able to take our time with coffee and cereal in the morning. My friend did hear the rooster's at night but they were far from annoying, and they are the most beautiful roosters I have ever seen. I would love to come again and stay longer next time. Our daughter's wedding was wonderfull and we enjoyed the entire island from Luau's to waterfalls. I have showed the pictures of the home to my family and you will probably hear from them. I will contact you first when I do return.
Thanks Again

The home is completely furnished with everything you could possibly want, and plenty of room for family or friends to spend a vacation together. The pool is just a few steps off the lanai and the beach is out the gate and maybe 50 feet from the lanai. Everything in Kapaa is so convenient, good places to eat and to shop.
I found it very easy to drive anywhere on the island from this location. We enjoyed our stay eminsely. |

We had a fantastic time at this beautiful condo in Kapaa. Extremely
spacious, modern, clean and well equipped with everything you could need, Moana Kai was the perfect place to start our holiday in Hawaii.
The in room jacuzzi was bliss & the lanai hot tub was the perfect place to sit
back & watch the windsurfers & waves roll in to the beach only 50metres or
so from the house.
The rooms were well stocked with amenities & the beds were extremely
comfortable! The louvre windows throughout the property allowed for a
great trade wind breeze to come through all of the rooms also. Jim's
welcome hamper was also greatly appreciated & got us into just the right
mood for the rest of our holiday.
We were able to walk easily up to the shops & restaurants nearby (Mermaids
Ahi taco's are still making me salivate!) & were able to drive to other
beaches & sights without trouble. The main road can get rather congested
at times, but were were on Hawaii time, so didn't mind it too much.
Our only disappointment was that we didn't have more time to spend at this
amazing condo! Couldn't have asked for anything better!

| This is a beautiful beach house with lots of space and great furnishings. You couldn't ask for a better central location to cover this side of the island. The dipping pool was perfect for our 3 and 5 year olds, as well as us! Only downside, I believe there was a hot tub that wasn't working and the cats in heat (crying in the early morning) were far worse than the usual roosters the island has. Ear plugs were provided though! Would love to go back. |

Thank you for your review.
The hot tub on the lanai is fixed. It's a great place to kick back and soak while watching to ocean waves rolling onto the sandy beach right in front of the beach house. It's only a few steps to the cool dipping pool.
The feral cats were "evicted" last year when I sent more than 18 of them to live at the humane society.
The roosters have also been given their move-out notices and haven't been an issue this year (2009).
Now a peaceful nights sleep is what you can expect. It's what my family and I had experienced living in our home from February through July this year. We welcomed our new son, Kai, into the world here in May and the sounds of the waves lulled him to sleep every day and night.

This rental is centrally located in Kapaa. You can walk to restaurants then take a walk along the beach path. There is a beach perfect for young families in front of the rental or a surf beach within walking distance. If you don't want to swim in the ocean, there is a pool. The rental is beautifully decorated and has all the ammenities.
I would certainly recommend this rental to family and friends and hope to return soon. |

| This was our first trip to Hawaii and it was definitely one of our most pleasant vacations ever. We enjoyed swimming at the local beach and lounging around watching wildlife. The house was clean and completely furnished with every comfort of home. We all enjoyed having access to a pool and hot tub without needing to leave the yard. This beach house provided a superb place for relaxation, as well as a great base for seeing the sights around the island. In short, our stay there has set for us a new standard for comfort and style. It's hard to imagine staying at a different place in Kauai. When we visit Hawaii again, we will definitely be looking for an Aloha Condo property to stay at, no matter what island we visit next. |

Found the home after searching many websites. Stayed there for four days and really enjoyed the property. Lots of room, beautifully decorated and many extras, great access to the beach and the lengthy walking path along the ocean heading north out of Kapaa. Close proximity to food and beverage. We got up early every day and watched the sun rise over the Pacific from the lanai, then took a long walk oceanside...breathtaking and very relaxing.
Only drawback was the roosters; they're everywhere on Kauai and crowing like mad around 5 am! Property to the south of the rental leaves a little to be desired as well.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back again. |

This is the 4th time I have stayed here at Moana Kai Beach house unit B. I love this place. I have been to Kauai many times and this is definitely my favorite place to stay. Nothing beats the location, atmosphere of the property, and the interior set up of this beautiful condo. When I walk in it is like walking into my own private beach house, with the beach just outside the Lani doors. The waterfall and the pool in the front yard, with the beach just beyond are a constant reminder I am vacationing in beautiful Kauai.
Recently they have added a great little walking path down along the shoreline, giving easier access to the beaches and to downtown Kapaa. The shops and restaurants are a quick 5 minute walk from the condo.
I can not imagine an easier place to relax in the evenings. Listening to the waves outside the front doors, and enjoying the beautiful furnishings and decorations inside. I loved the bright, vivid paintings throughout the house.
My favorite thing about this house, besides its easy comfort, is that the sun rises directly outside the front doors. The first rays of dawn shine strait out of the ocean directly towards you. Breathtaking. |

This is THE most beautiful, calming, relaxing and classy home I've
ever stayed in for a vacation. I loved the spacious and open
floorplan of the home, the kitchen is fully equipped with
*everything* to cook gourmet meals every day (I saved $$ on being
able to cook the clean kitchen, and I LOVED doing so with the
sliding glass doors open while overlooking the pacific ocean and
with fresh breezes coming in!). The house is decorated beautifully
with original and inspiring artwork throughout the home, and every
piece of furniture is comfortable and pleasing to the eye. There is a
sense of Zen throughout the home. It felt like my long-lost home
right away and I got (way too) comfortable right away.
The bathrooms are squeaky clean and showers are so comfortable;
the master bedroom is HUGE and sensual, the 2nd bedroom has
floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean with direct
sunshine and moonlight flooding in :-) I loved waking up to free-
roaming roosters every morning and falling asleep to the sound of
the ocean every night... yess... I loved being able to sunbathe
privately in the front yard that overlooks the ocean! and having
access to everything the entire island has to offer quickly because
this property is located right in the middle of the coastline which
makes it an equi-distant drive to the North or South shore.
I just loved that I was able to truly relax in a clean, visually
beautiful and stimulating environment. I will vacation at this home
again and again in the blink of an eye when I go back to Kauii.
My experience in this home was a healing and loving one and I
can't wait to be back... |

We were two couples who rented this house. We had never been to Kauai before. the house was absolutely beautiful--the funiture--the pool--facing the ocean. There were some issues for us---
1)There was no air-conditioning----coming from California, where we have no humidity with our heat, it was hard to dry off, and sleep.
I inquired about the air-conditioning before deciding to rent it, and was told that there was a strong breeze that came through the house, so we wouldn't need it. Well, there was a strong breeze, but it never came in any of the bedrooms, because of the weird windows. And even with the breeze, it was HOT!
2) Another thing that you can't escape on this island---rousters----everywhere !!
They start crowing around 4 AM. And you can't close your windows, or you will suficate.
We won't be back, we like the Big Island and Maui better, but anyone who can tolerate the humidity, and crowing rousters will love staying here. |

Thank you for your review.
You must have been here during an unusual time when the trade winds were not blowing - sorry it was so hot for you. I've doubled the window size for air flow in the master bedroom since your stay. I've been staying in my home for the past two months and the trades have been blowing strong and steady every day, which is typical.
The roosters have been moving on to other areas of the island due to my rooster relocation program and "encouragement" to leave the area. :)

It had great beds and linens, everything we needed for our stay, great views, and a hot tub that was hot! Tho we didn't use the pool it was sparkling clean and inviting. We loved the proximity to the airport yet it was quiet and private. Groceries, restaurants, gas, etc. were close by and all the locals were friendly and helpful. The kitchen could use new appliances and a good cleaning. The small unheated pool was adequate only since no one else in the tri-plex used it. This is the only time we have rented a "Vacation Rental" and although the owner and local manager were as helpful as they could reasonably be the property really is not suitable for commercial rental. I am a Resort Owner and our standards are much higher in the Industry. The beds are first class as are the bathrooms. Fairly close to the ocean and very pleasant Lanai in good or bad weather. |
