Welcome to the amazing "Allesandra," a three bedroom three bath luxury villa located in upper Estate Chocolate Hole. Fully equipped with all the amenities for the vacationing traveler.

Expansive panoramic views of Cruz Bay, Great Cruz Bay and Chocolate Hole as well as breathtaking views of St. Thomas, Little St. James, and the surrounding cays.

Allesandra is surrounded by lush tropical gardens with an abundance of specimen trees and orchids. Bay Rum and Allspice along with Avocado, Key Lime, Bananas and Mandarin Orange trees just to name a few. Just a five minute drive to the town of Cruz Bay, where you can enjoy dining at one of the many casual or classic restaurants this charming town has to offer. Or shop from the several small and unique shops all located in the heart of Cruz Bay.

Allesandra leaves little to be desired.

I rented Allesandra from Kathy McLaughlin at Island Getaways. Our ferry was delayed but she waited and greeted us in good humor. I usually rent through Caribbean Villas but am always curious about alternatives and in comparison to dozens of other villas I viewed online, Allesandra seemed to be an excellent value.

It had everything I was looking for: a generously sized pool, a spa, privacy, a killer view of three bays, a bright, well appointed interior and a quiet but convenient location near Cruz Bay. The kitchen (complete with welcome basket) was well equiped and the washer and dryer are large capacity and almost new. The hosue is well laid out. The living room and kitchen separate the two bedrooms in the main house providing privacy for everyone. The living room has a large flat screen TV, Internet access and a powerful little ipod player.

I think what I liked best about Allesandra was the outdoor living areas. I loved the beautiful stone decking and the attached covered outdoor dining area (gazebo). The pool is well designed with a deep end and nice underwater bench seating.

The third bedroom is in the Garden Cottage which I did not rent. There is almost nothing to criticize at Allesandra. The futon in the second bedroom was not comfortable but it is intended for children and we did not need or use it. There was a fan which needed repair in the master bedroom but with the air conditioning, that was a non-issue. During a hard rain there was a leak between the gazebo roof and main house which I noted to Kathy. It was not a significant matter, however.

I knew when I left that I would return and, in fact, have made a reservation again for November 2009. More...
